For sewing on the tentacles leave a tail on the head and pull it thru the middle of the tentacle piece and tie together, that way it won't shift when your sewing them together. Thankyou so much for sharing your video, it's so cute!!💕
it looks really nice but hopefully you can upload a new tutorial with less speed and more focus video, it will be really helpful for crochet beginners like me! thank you. will be waiting!
amazing video. I also wondering if next time you could give a bit of a refresher before each new technique (ex- show slowly what a half double crochet is.. I had to pause the video and look it up again to remember). I followed your instructions exactly but did everything half the size and its so cute!! I made an even tinier version and love the tentacle's. Thank you! !!
Sewing it. . . um, oops? I tweaked the pattern. Instead of upping it to 30 stitches, I stopped at 24, then decreased to 16 (sc, dec X8) and used the front loops only for the tentacles, then the back loops to continue decreasing. Makes them sit a touch differently, but I didn't have to sew anything.
Wonderful tutorial❣️ Made my 1st complete Amigurumi❣️🎊👏🎊 I tried making one from a box kit but the written instructions confused me. Or was it that I just didn’t follow directions? Either way.. I ran out of color and did not complete. But this tutorial was so easy to follow. I now want to make more Amigurumis❣️❣️😁 Thank You so much, Jade, for taking the time to show us❣️ Much Love❣️❣️
Hi, thanks for tutorial, have onw question yet towards yarn, hence there is many red heart yarn types, which one is yours exactly? I cant find it there on amazon, as the one link here is for another, not equal to 4 mm hook, thanks a lot for help.
Maybe try using a chunky weight yarn, blanket or velvet, adjust your hook size to maybe a 5 or 5.5 mm. You can also pull from two skeins and use a 5 or 5.5mm hook. Just keep your tension tight so you don’t end up with holes showing your stuffing.
I was wondering for the tentacles when you say every other stitch will get three half double crochets did mean that we skip one and then crochet or that they each get crocheted?
Half Double Crochet 2 into the second chain from the hook, put 3 Half Double Crochets into all the remaining chains, Slip Stitch into the next Single Crochet to anchor the tentacle.
Hmm, sometimes you have to curl them yourself. Just make sure you are keeping the chain straight while working the tentacles so that it won't get twisted.
If you change colors at the end of the tentacle as you connect it to the beginning; that may work. I'll see what I can do about making that apart of a video? :)
is there a way i can make this bigger? i have made small ones so far but my son is wanting a bigger version. i was thing to just increasing more rounds than what you did and then same for decreasing. as far as tenticles i can make a longer chain?
If you press the 3 dots on the Upper right hand side, It will give you the option to change the speed from normal to a slower or faster speed. I do this if I'm following exactly so that I don't have to stop the tape. Hope this helps
I'm so sorry I did it too fast. This is my first time doing a tutorial, so I may have been in autopilot! I'll have another video showing how I do the Magic Ring slower. Thank you for letting me know! :)
I tend to sell them for $5. But that is based on my location. Depending on where you are located, you may be able to raise the price to whatever you see fit
Love this video! No mucking around, no repeating of how to do the stitches. What a breathe of fresh air. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I made 8 of these and sold out in 15 minutes! They are so fun and cute. Your tutorial was so easy to follow. You are a wonderful teacher!

Thank you! :)
These are so cute and is this pattern yo made copyrighted because I want to sell them, but I would leave links and give you credit for your pattern.
Absolutely! You are free to sell them! Hopefully they sell as well for you as they do for me! 😀
I"m going to try to sell in my next show . What is a fair price to sell for? Thank you for sharing.
The lowest I would go is $5. You can try different prices to see what sells best in your location.

Red Heart Super Saver. It's a worsted weight 4 yarn and they reccomend a 5/5.5mm hook for that yarn weight. The 4mm works perfectly with it though.
I LOVE this video!! I now make these for all my friends just because :)). Thank you so much for making it very easy to follow!
Thank you so much for this tutorial!
Thank you for watching!
Tysm!! This is a cute gift for my stepfather's car. I want to give him something that can be hanged in the car😂❤️
Can I also make larger octopi with this pattern?
Yes, you can! You can change your hook and yarn sizes and get them in all sizes!
Thank you for injoing us
I want to make this but about 3 times bigger... do you have any ideas or tips?
Maybe try using a chunky weight yarn, blanket or velvet, adjust your hook size to maybe a 5 or 5.5 mm.

@@WhimsicalStitches Thank you I appreciate your response!
@@WhimsicalStitches thank you so much for that answer it was a bit confusing before
Glue guns and sticks work WONDERFULLY for NOT having to sew together what you DON'T have to!! Lol😅🙂🌹
i've tried making patterns like this one before, but 4 some reason, the tentacles on mine aren't curly. how do i fix that issue?
Hmm, sometimes you have to curl them yourself. Just make sure you are keeping the chain straight while working the tentacles so that it won't get twisted.

Do you know how I can make the tentacles multiple color????
If you change colors at the end of the tentacle as you connect it to the beginning; that may work. I'll see what I can do about making that apart of a video? :)

What I do is just use two strands of yarn and a 5mm hook. You can do why you said too.
Can we sell these? I'm sure these would be great at my craft fair!
Yes, absolutely!
How much do u usually sell them for?
At my in person events, I usually do them for $5 a piece.
That is only because the area I live in, I can't charge much more or they wouldn't sell.
I really want to try this, what type of yarn do you use?
I use yarn that is a worsted weight of 4. I tend to stick with the Red Heart brand.
What is the size of the safety eyes?
I usually use 12 mm for these.
You need to slow down on the ring stitch thing
If you press the 3 dots on the Upper right hand side, It will give you the option to change the speed from normal to a slower or faster speed. I do this if I'm following exactly so that I don't have to stop the tape. Hope this helps
Yes agree with you. She did it so fast. I had to check other videos how to do ring stitch
I'm so sorry I did it too fast. This is my first time doing a tutorial, so I may have been in autopilot! I'll have another video showing how I do the Magic Ring slower. Thank you for letting me know! :)
I'm sorry I did it too fast! I'll remember to slow it doing in any future videos! Thank you for letting me know! :)

U went to fast n I couldn't see how u increased....
I'm sorry! I plan on doing an updated version and slowing down the process.
Increase is just two single crochet stitches in the same stitch.
