I watched Midsommar last night for the first time and it was the first time I had seen anything that Florence Pugh had done. Her performance was outstanding and I look forward to seeing her in many other roles. Also, I am going to start watching her and her cacti on Instagram!!!
Florence Pugh's portrayal was the first time I actually liked Amy in Little Women. I have seen so many of the movie adaptations and this was the first time she actually had layers and depth. As you say, that is also due to the writers/director, but still loved Florence in the role!
She really nailed that role as Amy March, at the time when that movie was released in theaters before the pandemic.
Great credits be given to Florence Pugh, Greta Gerwig, and the rest of the ensemble cast (Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Laura Dern, Meryl Streep, Timothee Chalamet, Bob Odenkirk and Chris Cooper; among many others), along with the crew behind the scenes on making that great movie.

My favorite actress!
That is my number one reason as well. I can't remember the last time an actress gave such a nuanced yet subtle performance and then add in the fact that the character is one of literature's most difficult to portray... 2019's Little Women was almost more of Amy's long journey into womanhood and to Laurie with a few moments of Jo throw in now and then which was fine by me given how fantastically Gerwig and Pugh made the character finally sing.
Her cooking Instagrams got me through the first stage of covid. She’s a gem 👌🖤

I've seen most of her movies and my absolute favorite is Midsommar. It's where I saw her for the first time and her great acting made me remember her name.
Then I saw Black Widow and I instantly fell in love with her.

I first noticed her in outlaw king and saw bits and peaces of lady Macbeth and thought, "this actress has got something there's a future A star here." Soon enough Midsommar and black widow came along and became my new celebrity crush.
