Hey, all. SUPER SORRY 🙏 this is a later upload than usual and that I forgot to have Braixen and Delphox next to each other at the end. I feel so stupid for not noticing it until now. This video was was a nightmare to edit.

The fact that Delphox uses her hair as a witch robe is pretty neat because witches were said to be more powerful the longer their hair are and they sometimes use them for potions

The 1st is an edit where a Malamar makes Serena turn into a Braixen.
The 2nd is a clip I know from randomly finding it in r/196. She says: "It doesn't matter how old I am... C'mon! It's not like anyone's gonna c'ya!" followed by a perfectly cut scream from the guy watching.

I always preferred Delphox due to it’s movepool making it fun to use in the lower tiers of competitive battle as well as it looking like an old wizard that loves terrorizing its neighbors with there spells.
Ok mate I'm so sorry about this but its been bugging me the whole time: their not there 🤓
As a Greninja fanboy, I respect your opinion. The other kalos starters get too much hate.

I appreciate Delphox appreciation. I remember i picked Fennekin in X just because it was the cutest one and getting to Braixen like "oh i know the audience for this". But then it evolved and just thought it was cool, not to mention pretty useful in my playthrough so I do like Delphox more.
oh man, back when X and Y where new i got X as my first Pokémon game and Fennekin was my first ever pokémon, so i feel ya homie
Its for sure the best 3 solid evolution line since Imo Treeko-Grovyle-Sceptile Line. *the new sprig-flor-meowscarada is great too* I feel like a lot of the times the middle evolutions are pretty yucky but if you have a good middle the start and ends are usually good and you end up having a line that looks good throughout the entirety.
Pre-Meowscarada, Delphox was my favorite Starter line. It's awesome to have such a spooktacular sorcerer, especially in the game that introduced Gourgeist and came out in October!
Braixen's whole broom silhouette with the stick in the tail is genius, too- I kinda wish Delphox did something similar. Although the fur robe more than makes up for it, love the swoops!
Those two lines are my favorites, too, but swapped. I don't think the Delphox line will be topped in my heart; and, I like Meowscarada's mask.
All we need left is a bipedal water starter based on a magic user that is a bunny
I actually do like Delphox more than Braixen, mainly because I like Delphox's design more. Yes, the silhouette isn't that unique, especially since they could have made the ear fur look like a witch hat, but I always prefer the final evolutions of the starters more then the middle ones, plus Fire/Psychic is a great type combo, and I think it's Shiny is even better than Braixen. I was also glad the anime finally evolved Serena's Braixen into Delphox since I've always hated that the majority of the starters the gang caught don't reach their final forms, even more so when they don't reach their middle evolutions( Looking at you Rowlett, Totodile Oshawatt, Snivy, Chespin and Grookey).
And fun fact about that Sword Art Online clip, the dub voice actress for Asuna also voices Chloe in Journeys, so yo could say it came full circle, or it was just a coincidence, probably the latter.
I don’t like the middle evolutions of most starters, they just mostly end up looking like teenagers going through puberty 😅
@@OneWithoutCouragelol, this especially matches with cinderace
Braixen feels like one of the only middle starter evolutions that dont feel awkward.
Frogadier is from the same generation to boot
Delphox looks pretty cool and mystical in the official art, like a witch of sorts but looks a little awkward in the games. Braxian just looks cute and charming through and through.
I can make an evolution of Delphox that's cute like Braixen
I prefer Braixen's quasi-magical girl design (probably because I watch a lot of anime). However, I do think Delphox is cooler overall. It looks just as intimidating as the other Kalos Starters do in their final forms, appearing both confident and powerful. Delphox's witch-like design also fits perfectly with the theme the Kalos Starters are based on. I will agree that Braixen's model looks more lively compared to Delphox's, though. Also, I feel like Delphox could have been a Fairy-type instead of a Psychic-type. But it makes sense why it isn't. Along with their original type being good against one another, their secondary type shares this trait as well. Fire/Psychic makes it still weak to the Water/Dark-type Greninja while triumphing over the Grass/Fighting-type Chesnaught. And the Kalos Starters have moves that can counter their rivals, though I do think Delphox needs more options than just Grass Knot and Solar Beam for Greninja in XY.
I can see why Serena's Braixen didn't evolve during her time as a main character. Ash, Serena, and Clemont each owned a Starter that was in different stages of their lines: Ash had the final form of the Froakie line, Serena had the middle form of the Fennekin line, and Clemont had the base form of the Chespin line. I think Braixen not evolving is also a nod towards Serena having much more room to grow as a Trainer.
Also, what is the witch watching?
Since gen 6 was my introduction to the Pokémon series and Fennekin was my first ever Pokémon, naturally it and it's line would become some of my favorite Pokémon, despite the split opinions of it in the community. Its really nice to see people start to appreciate it more nowadays
Bro same, it’s like I ghostwrote this, I have so much sentimental attachment to delphox
Braixen reminds me of the little sister archetype: a friendly and upbeat character whose charisma makes you want to protect it at all costs.
Delphox has a history of negative reception. As soon as it was revealed many people started attacking it, calling it ugly. It's was basically Geeta before Gen 9. Braixen was used un evolved as a statement.

MY FENNEKIN EVOLVED INTO A FURRY
I love the evolution line equally, Delphox is undeservingly underrated
I absolutely love this Pokémon, it’s Top 5 material for me for sure. It took some time for it to get there though.
Initially, I thought Braixen’s design was fine. I liked it and thought it was a cute evolution, but it didn’t blow me away. What sold Braixen for me was its portrayal in various medias. Seeing it move around in the anime was cool enough, but it was mainly Pokken Tournament that helped me like this mon. The magical girl/witch/performer hybrid of a persona was so fun to watch (and play too, she was the first character that stuck with me).
And since then, I’ve grown to like Braixen more and more. Don’t get me wrong, I also love Delphox, I think it’s a sick design and Fire/Psychic is great. Using it on various teams was great, it puts in some hard work and does really well. But it will never be able to top the bond I have w/ the middle stage fire fox of Kalos.
As a bonus, the whole line as some of my favorite shinies ever, w/ Delphox’s being #1 for me.
So yeah, Braixen (and Delphox by extension) is great
Delphox should have been Fire/Fairy
atleast it's getting a Fairy tera type type in SV
@@theamazingspooderman2697 Unfortunately that would break the cycle between the starters secondary typings so no

@@philipgelderblom6878 does the Ground, Steel, Fighting follow the the cycle that u are talking about? nope they don't as Fighting is super effective on Steel but Steel is not super effective on Ground, same could be done to Gen 6 starters by making Delphox a Fairy type and break the cycle as Gen 4 did it too
Honestly delphox has always been my favourite of the kalos starters
Fire mage fox has always been a much more appealing concept to me compared to a wet ninja frog and chestnut knight
Probably helps that foxes are one of my favourite animals
I just wish it got more love
Sometimes it feels like once we were past generation 6, game freak just wanted us to forget the other two starters and exclusively focus on greninja
I’ve noticed that too.
It makes me so sad as a big fan of Chesnaught because it’s definitely received the least attention out of the three of them, even during Gen Six.
yeah honestly greninja is overhyped asf
Not an awful pokemon but i definitely prefer delphox design wise
The recent tera raid event is definitely making more people respect Delphox
Delphox is one of my two #1 favorite Pokémon. The other is hisuian zoroark but this isn’t about them
I love it due to being a magic fox.
I love magic in things, if a game has some kind of magic class I usually pick it right away. Foxes are my favorite animals, and it just has a really cool design in my opinion. I like the fur robe, the stick for a wand and keeping it in the sleeve. I like how the ear fur looks. Something probably unintentional about the design but could be neat if it was intentional is the big ears it has is obviously taken from the fennic fox which the line is based off and the fennics ears help it cool down in the hot environment it lives in, the fur on delphox kinda looks like flames, flames = hot, ears get rid of heat on the fennic. Like I said 99% unintentional but something neat I thought of.
But ya I love braixen to, it’s really damn cute but I can’t help but have a bit of annoyance to it cus it overshadows delphox as much as it does and I like delphox more but I still love all three members of the line
My one complaint about delphox is ya, it’s 3D model and animations are, not that great it could be way better.
And for braixen, I think it’s voice in pokken is really damn annoying I prefer the voice it had in the anime
Fairy is the magic type, essentially. I wish it would've been Fire/Fairy, especially considering it was added in the gen that made Fairy.
Also, while I still prefer Braixen, Delphox has definitely grown on me over the years.
I was gonna argue that psychic fits a witch more than fairy, cuz witches are more wicked and fairy is like the symbolism of good. But I then realized that fairies canonically are more brutal than the type suggests
Also it’d be stronger too!
“Pokken had good diversity in the Pokémon chosen”
Pokken: has Pikachu Libre and Pikachu as separate characters, and Croagunk as both support and playable.
I liked Delphox at first, but internet disagreed, which made me kinda dislike it as well. Thankfully I'm coming back to liking it again.
u should not let others alter your judgment, unless they make a very good point
Why would you let the internet persuade your likenesses towards Delphox?? Half of them don't even know what they want in a design lol.
Fennekin was my first pokemon starter ever so it will always be held in a special spot in my heart
My favorite little fox witch❤
Braxien is adorable🥰
Braixen's my main in Pokken as well, I love her quick and aggravating fire attacks and her bubbly cutesy personality. The design overall just looks better than Delphox, it's just got too much fur and not enough mage/witch aesthetic for my taste. I would love if its ears could fold up like a witch's hat or something to give it that extra oomph.
The dissapointment that I felt upon realizing the Serena turning into Braixen clip was fanmade approaches the disappointment of that witch turning Ash into a Pikachu lasting a total of about 5 minutes.
Dang thank goodness that wasn't real if it was I'm gonna learn about animation and make an animation where shadow the hedgehog shoots malamar with a shotgun after malamar turned Serena into braixen and let shadow the hedgehog cook him by punching his freaking head till malamar faints and catches malamar with a master ball and then incenerate malamar while he's in the PokeBall and then leaves the building with of course *THE ACTUAL GOOD ENDING BUT SERENA IS STILL A BRAIXEN BUT STILL TALKS WITH HER MOUTH* and then when rip off zygarde appears shadow will literally use a rocket powered gun to obliterate that rip off zygarde made by lysandre and then the anime ends the same but Serena and ash never gets a goodbye kiss since if they did that's animal harassment(I'm anti furry but I always imagine it if it would happen if it was real)
Braixen in tournament is cuteness overload to the max.
I love Braixen the most of the three! But Delphox and Fennekin are tied for me very close behind! I don't know why I got drawn to Braixen in the first place, but it became my favorite and has stayed that way ever since!
When people ask me what Pokemon I feel sorry for the most, I don't say magicarp or any of the megas, I say gardevoir, vaporeon and lopunny
And the worse part is that I like some of those Pokemon. Not in a weird way just how they're designed
I too feel sorry for Vaporeon and such😭 Vaporeon is my fav and always has been but people just always have to sexualise it and make gross art, “jokes” etc
I understand Vaporeon as there's nothing sexual about that design, Gardevoir is more questionable but I guess it can work nonsexually, Lopunny, no they when all in on sexual features
SAME, i get sooo mad when they keep doing these type of jokes forgetting the fact that pokemons are basically animals in that world which means these are close to being z00phil3 jokes which is absolutely gross
Fennekin was my go to starter in X and Y and She is always a reliable member (rng kept giving me a female starter) and I like it more than a certain wannabe dragon… that’s right I said it :P
Lucky you

I hope delphox is also discussed, I love my fire fox worlock
Delphox is my favorite fire starter. I feel like, if they had given its in game model the same stance as it's official art, people would have liked it more. As it stands though, it's a neat concept and design with fantastic typing, decent stats, and a pretty good movepool. It's just a great Pokemon!
I did not evolve my braixen into Delphox for an incredibly long time in my Y playthrough, it took months after beating the story to take the everstone off her. Braixen is just the best middle evo design hands down.
I love Braixen so much my friend spent $500 on a custom plush just to see me smile which at that point in time wasn't often.
lmao i also have a custom braixen plush
Delphox was always a bit weird to me specifically because the game model always just felt like it had too small of a head.

Delphox is so fun in Unite definitely one of the top 5 most fun pokemon to play.

I was not a fan of the ear hair, and am still not crazy about it, but Braixen has grown on me. I can appreciate her cute tsundere magical girl mannerisms, and I wouldn't be surprised if a future Super Smash Bros. title added her as a playable character. Props to her for distinguishing herself as a middle-stage evolution more popular than either the base or fully-evolved forms. (Yes, I know Braixen can be male and in fact usually are because the devs for some reason think starters need to be male 7/8 of the time - as though we aren't just going to reset scum until we get the one we want anyway - but Braixen's look and behavior are very clearly patterned after traditionally female character archetypes, so to me she's a female by default.)
i believe that the starter gender ratio is not cannon due to the fact that EVERY starter has it and not even just starters, fossil pokemon and eevee have the same ratio. the reason is that originally these pokemon where supposed to be special and rare so having a mostly male gender ratio made it harder to obtain more of them. so yea i believe its just a game mechanic now tradition and is not cannon to the actual pokemon. that being said i personally believe the cannon gender ratio of braixen is mostly female
I like witch themed pokemon, and finding out that there is a witch themed mon that isn't violently going to kill me if i emote (hatterene) or steal my food (murkrow) is nice. I wish it had better stats, but even then poor chestnaught was more sidelined than the delphox line
I've always thought that typically Braixen, as a whole, tend to be more outgoing and happy-go-lucky. When they evolve, the personality shift almost in a spiteful sense. They become more witch-like. Cold and calculating. Not exactly malevolent, but withdrawn, maybe a bit bitter. They're not aggressive, but hostile. Grouchy, unpleasant, and vengeful, yet calm, patient, and ready.

Wow 😮, it's a Magical Girl!??? I can't believe I didn't notice that!
I went Fennekin in Y and, naturally, it took the role of the overleveled starter. No wonder I always failed to beat the Elite 4. I do recall being a bit disapointed when it evolved into **shock** a _girl_ Pokemon (the pun name went over my head since I was like ten), but it grew on me. I wonder if that stupid fox is why I like Sonic. It's interesting that the first form is some kind of magical girl while the second form looks more experienced; perhaps Braixen has only recently had Hagrid bust down its door and as such is still getting used to its powers (as well as trying to flaunt them at any opportunity) while Delphox is much more experienced, being more used to its powers and using them more conservatively whilst being far more powerful.
I'm doing a Mono-Fire run in Y because, as it turns out, my potato laptop really can run Citra with the upscaler set to 240p (or at least Pokemon since it targets 30FPS across the board) and I wanted an excuse to go Fennekin again (Wilting Y - a hack that I still haven't finished - makes the first encounter a hidden ability Torchic and I ended up having to go Froakie to avoid duplicated types). I'll admit that most early Fire-types kind of blend together with their movepools, but I'm expecting them to vary a lot and I'm planning to pick up a Flareon to replace Pansear (who is so pants he didn't even get a nickname) once I get to Cyllage City, either Slugma or Torkoal for type variety, and a Litwick to cap off the team.
I've seen a bit of the XY anime, and I loved that they brought back the classic theme tune. Haven't seen much of it beyond that though.

Finally, some Fennekin line appreciation~ I don't care what anyone else says, Delphox is my favourite Pokémon of all time.
I'm a huge fan of this line.
As a person who’s never been that attached to the anime or other Pokemon media, the fact that I remember Braxien exists at all (given its second evolution status) is a testament to its design
I hate to be the person that bursts your bubble, but Serena evolved Braixen. If you watch Pokémon Journeys episode 105, you’ll see her Delphox 💖
Why did that sound so mean?
I prefer Delphox, but I really like how they managed to used the mage motif in both forms. Braxien being more of magical girl, and Delphox being a Witch. Compare this to the other startes which just... really don't have their theme in their second evolution.
I like Braixen alot, personally. I mean, cute wittle witch fox? Sign me up. I kinda wish Delphox leaned more into a more old witch vibe, instead of kinda looking... awkward. Making them lean forward more seems like a good step. I wonder why Delphox wasn't a Fairy type...
That because there second types are strong against each other psychic is strong against fighting is strong against dark and dark is strong against psychic.
atleast now it's getting a Fairy tera type raid in SV
The fan reaction of braixen is just how people reacted to the vaporeon fiasco expect its a different type and colour
I think it's just that people are starting to categories adorable Pokémon as hot when they are just adorable
I find it personally odd that my older sister, who is a big fan of foxes, kitsunes and the like, views the Fenniken line as her 2nd or so favourite starter Pokémon line simply because Heart Gold nostalgia makes her appreciate Feraligatr more.
Braixen was actually one of two pokemon cards that were my first, with the second being Vulpix!
I still have them too, with both of them being in my numerical collection.
Always was a Delphox fan, will always be a Delphox fan.
It pains me even more to know where the sound bite comes from
In all honesty: I always had a special place in my heart every pokemon (and mega) from gen 6 since I basically grew up with it because I started to get into pokemon when the anime was in X and Y arc (yes I got into pokemon because of the Pokemon anime). But I especially liked Fennekin, Braixen and Delphox because I always thought that fire starters had the best designs from all of the starters. And yeah Braixen and Delphox aren't for everyone to like but at least those who don't like them should respect people who like them. And yeah I have a lot of love and nostalgia for gen 6 even tho people seem to don't like it
(Sorry for bad English. It isn't my first language)
I doubt we really need a "magic type" in pokemon 'cuz we technically already have that concept split into several different kinds. (psychic, dark, fairy, ghost, etc.) I think psychic fits delphox perfectly since it not only rolls with the whole pyromancy/pyrokinesis motif of being a natural-born fire mage, but also conveying its intelligent prowess of the mystic arts like Alakazam or Hypno.
I really liked Fennekin and its two evolutions, but I might be a bit biased 🦊
Honestly, the Asuna voice is fitting for Braixen. Even if the clip was made for...its own reasons
Well braixen is My favorite pokemon
dawg.
"What Fennekin Evolution do you like?"
"Yes."
Personally I always loved delphox and WAAAAY more than braixen I must add.
Delphox is actually my very favorite fire starter. As for braixen... not so much. Actually I like this stage the least in the entire line.
I mean I don't hate it, not even that I don't like it. It's just not as good as the rest.
Fenneking is just great, and really cute and adorable little fire fox - Serena's fennekin only enforce this notion even more.
Delphox is real peak of the line (which generally means the line is well made - as imo in well made line everit make so good job at it, that it doesn;t seem natural anymore. y next stage should be better than previous... which yeah isn't 100% the case here, but last stage being best is still most important part of that), many describe it as witch, and sometimes as being somewhat awkward, which... I don't exactly agree. I mean yeah the ear fur is a bit overdone, but Imo it's not a big deal. And despite it kinda is inspired by a witch I see her (yeah I know starters are more likely to be male, but this line is so feminine that it simply feel natural to reffer to this pokemon as "her") not really as a witch but rather some kind of sorceress (or maybe archmage with her long "robe") or priestess. It is the kind of vibe she gives me... mystical, elegant, gracefull, wise, maybe mysterious or even regal in a way and rather benevolent. It's just so good (to the point I decided to have its regional variant in my made up region :D).
But braixen.... well she is kind cute little witch... yeah that one actually do come to me as a witch... kinda... as actually she's mainly... like a school girl. Yeah, this may be because of the whole mahou shoujo genre, what have some appeal to it... but at the same time her being so much like a school girl is... somewhat ofputting to me... (not enough to make me NOT like the design... but still). The worst part actually are those black legs... they seem very much like some tights or high stockings... yeah I know it's actually her natural fur, which was just supposed to kinda represent that... but that's the point: it make such a good job at it, that it doesn't feel natural anymore. And feeling natural, feeling PRIMARLY as a believable part of natural creature is - in most cases - key part of goood pokemon design. And that one thing kinda stands out like a sore thumb to me. It may seem small to some but definitely isn't for me.
(And I would say this mistake - because I definitely consider it a mistake in design - was repeated in case of meaowscarada - when the situation is kinda reverse as later stage is one "wearing tights", making floragato actually best stage in the line for me)
The cartoon network commercial at the end unlocked nostalgia i didn't know i had
My favorite starter line
I'm going to wait for: "LEAVE GARDEVOIR ALONE"
you can't take my fire fox gf away from me!
Tbh I thought nothing of it at first but Pokken really endeared me to it. It's a weird departure from Fennekin but still a neat design till Delphox just fucks it all up lol. Not confused at all why GF and Internet prefer the middle stage for once.
I'm not really into the stereotype animé girl stuff. But when I started my copy of Pokémon X version for the first time I picked Fennekin as my starter, simply because I thought it was treated kind of unfairly and that it should get some love. To say which stage would be my favorite, is hard to tell, but I am indeed leaning towards Braixen, since it perfectly blends attributes from both stage 1 and stage 3 of its line, being more mature than Fennekin, yet still has lot to learn before maturing into a Delphox. IDK, I simply like that whole ''not fully grown yet'' arc, maybe because I am in that stage myself at the moment.
This is exactly one of the reasons why Pokémon can be so magical -- because it can bring people together by 🔥igniting🔥 friendly competition (see what I did there?). Plus, you can discover new ways to grow in terms of your own personality. You know how many people say that the Pokémon you place in your party can paint a picture of who you are -- in other words, your personality? That is what I think of when I watch this video, and it is one of the reasons it reminds me why I picked Fennekin, the other being the afore-mentioned in that Fennekin was once the most controversial starter Pokémon from Kalos.
The grass starter is a hedgehog:)
Delphoc would’ve been a good candidate for the fairy type. The fairy type is the closest thing we have to a magic type and they’ve been leaning into that more
I really love the Kalos starters ( except Chestnaughts pre-evo [shall not be named]), I dont care what everyone says these are by far my favourites

Braixen and the whole evolution line is my favorite of all the starter Pokemons, and I would even consider it to be my favorite Pokemon line of all. I kind of wish that Braixen was the Gen 6 rep for Smash Bros, though Greninja is pretty cool though. At least Braixen us in Pokken, and I do use her there.
As a fellow Braixen fan, I understand how you feel about her not being a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. However, I would like to believe that Braixen finally becoming a playable fighter in a future Super Smash Bros. entry is more of a "When" scenario than an "If." My reasoning is thus: As Braixen becomes more popular and her fanbase increases, demand by fans to have Braixen as a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. would also increase. Given sufficient time, the requests would reach likely a flashpoint and Braixen would be added in by popular demand from a vast, loving, fanbase in a manner not unlike Steve from Minecraft, Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII, and Sora from Kingdom Hearts. All three characters are wildly popular and/ or iconic because of how beloved they are. (Or in Sephiroth's case, the character everyone loves to hate, hates to love, and is DEATHLY AFFRIAD OF!) If those three could make it into Smash because of that factor, then so can Braixen!
I never actually realized her design is a magical girl stereotype. Now that it's pointed out it's blatantly obvious.
BRO I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU LEAVE MA GIRL ALONE
