That’s by Frederics/Goldman/Jones, during the years he had a trio with his guitarist Michael Jones (with whom he did “je te donne”) and his backvocal singer Carol Frederics. A wonderful song!!

In French "elle a fait un bébé toute seule" might also mean that she is a woman with a child but without any official husband/partner. Like she has made it by herself.

Hello from South France, Uncle D,
Perfect reaction again; I appreciate your open-mindedness and your humor, too.
Yes, JJG is a legend in France.
The younger generation still covers his songs from the 80s.
Many hits from his catalog have now become classics of the French Song, in the same way as C. Aznavour, J. Brel, L. Ferré, C. Trenet, G. Brassens, É. Piaf, etc.
This title, in particular, calls for another in my mind so that you can better understand the musical style Goldman used in this song:
"Christophe Maé - Tombé Sous Le Charme (Official Music Video)."
The location (and certain musical parts of the song) where the clip is filmed shows the unwavering link between French and American music since it's a bit like the cradle of all current music.
    Peace, people. ☮👈😎

"She had a baby on her own", she got pregnant from one very specific men (the lyrics says she choose a scientist according to his astrological sign) but then choose to have that baby on her own, the song doesn't say if the biological father is aware of that baby. 🤷
And now she run all day cause she's a single mother but... sometimes she cuddle with the singer😉
Yes Jean-Jacques Goldman is very big in France!!! He made several songs with Carol fredericks and Michael Jones.

This song is far from being a compliment, it's a bittersweet description of what neo feminism can lead to. It says that this woman made the choice to have a baby without a father, but at the end of the day she goes to bed alone and has to call her best friend (and sometimes he's a "friend with benefits") because she's overworked, tired and alone. The message is that this woman is to be pitied, not admired.
Don't get me wrong, some women don't have a choice and have to raise their kids alone (divorce, becoming a widow etc...) and they are super-heroes. But this song is critical of the "we don't need a partner" attitude.
