Regarding TIRES: After installing the lift kit, the installer replaced the alignment bolts and likely left the position at maximum toe-in. You should have had an alignment done at a tire shop immediately after that, where they would have set it at the correct position. You should do that as soon as possible, and rotate tires with the two worst ones at the rear. That will give you a few more miles on them, but you probably will need 4 new ones. Maybe you will be lucky and get by with replacing only two. Good luck and safe travels!
I was about to write the same comment, I hope that L & L see this comment and get it done soon!
I can't believe this wild year is coming to an end!
but the bigger adventure, of becoming parents, is just about to start
Haha yeah I mean that’s a whoooole other adventure 😜😅
Glad you were able to have your naked and alone moments in the mountains, before having to take on the energy of the fires. So happy to see you got to spend time with family and you are staying safe! ❤
Thanks for being here! 🥰🙏🏼
Stay safe guys
The smoke was reaching us in Spokane, so crazy to see it from your perspective. Pressure washers are pretty cool when you use a higher pressure setting or add a soap solution. We use ours to clean dirt and moss off our concrete. But yes, when you have kids, it’s much harder to clean things 😂 safe travels, guys!
The fires are really depressing. The destruction of beautiful country and wild animals is heartbreaking. I am Australian and the 2020 bushfires were heartbreaking due to the massive loss of native forests and animals.
Incredibly, we were hit by record breaking floods the following year. Bush regeneration was greatly assisted by the catastrophic floods.
Wishing all Canadians safety and a good recovery of forests and all they contain,
Love your videos!
So sad that there are already so many wildfires…..
Safe travels ❤
I am sorry that so much of Alberta is burning and hope that fires are able to be contained. I'm glad that you could still visit family in spite of the circumstances and that your next stop is beyond the smoke. Safe travels!
I bought a Ford Adventurer 19 RD with almost the same layout but a big window in the back. We love it. We have everything we need and easy to park. We never had anything fly from the cabinets. I secured the closet door to the fridge and the oven door to the drawer. You have to buy these RV through Fraserway Rentals all over Canada. Have a safe trip back home. Diane from Quebec.
Thanks for your comment! They’re truly awesome travel vehicles
We were in the 2019 Aussue fires. Brings back memories for sure. Stay inside if pregnant for sure. Keep safe 🙏🏼
Pressure washers use a lot less water than a regular hose to get to similar results when washing. It can also be useful to clean concrete, for example.
Agreed! They're also better at getting the grit off, which can leave micro-abrasions if you don't clean it all off fully before scrubbing.
Hi from Santa Cruz. Sending my wishes to you for relief from the fires. We had them for 5 out of 7 years. I don’t think anyone can imagine how eerie it is unless you go through it. Seeing your video brought back terrifying memories of being on evacuation watch in the middle of multiple fires.
Naked in the praries! Glad you got to enjoy some time away from the smoke since wow I didn't expect it to look that bad. Stay safe out there you two!
Is it weird I found the silent pressure segment actually hilarious with those subtitles haha was not expecting that.
Haha thanks for being here and happy to hear you found some giggles in there 🥰
So lovey to see Leah's bump growing! Stay safe!
Glad you made it safely through the smoke and fires!
Pressure washers are awesome tools! My son pressure washed our dingy deck and I can't get over how clean it is, with only water, it looks brand new! If I could post photos to show you, then I would. Literally it's night and day.
Love it. You two are so cool!
The wear and tear on that tire could be due to an alignment issue. Does the car tend to move to that side of the road naturally when you take your hands off the wheel?
I was going to say, I've seen people eat through new tires in a single week bc of alignment being completely shot. would be worth stopping the car off for a day or 2 when they get the chance to get an alignment and check if the tires need a new pair.
I think that's probably it. Eric at Prius Offroad said that we would probably need an alignement after we got the lift but he said in some cases the wheels are fine too so we didn't do it but... seems like it will be necessary.
We had our toddler in the dinette area in his front facing car seat. We were able to secure it safely…and we had lots of space to play and do puzzles and colour. My husband and I would take turns hanging out in the back with him- loved it!!
That’s awesome! Definitely love the option to hang out back there while on the road 👍🏼
Safe travels 🚙 🚐
Smoke from the Canadian fires covered the Flatirons here in Colorado (Boulder) too, earlier this week… I stayed inside as well. It sets a mood for sure. Luckily, we’ve had rain… May you have safe travels & the fires be contained ❤️ Take care.
Wow that’s crazy… hopefully it’s not bad for you there!
Even down to Castle Rock has had smoke from the fires. It’s crazy, I didn’t believe at first. Stay safe everyone.
@@LeahandLevi It is really strange to live across the street from mountains that disappear behind/in the white haze… it is so eerie to see the mountains “erased”. I didn’t check the air quality but I knew it was bad.
Pressure washers use a lot less water than a regular hose. Mine also has different canisters to put soap and car washing foam into. I don't have to scrub my car at all and significantly less water going down the driveway/street vs when I see my neighbors cleaning their car...
If you come across some more bad smoke/air quality during your yravels. A level 3 mask or N95 are great to use when outside, especially if you are pregnant! They help filter out the smoke and ash.
Yes we thought about this! Great suggestion!
Oh no…Jim and Caden are headed to Calgary then Edmonton tomorrow…hope the smoke is better. Wheel alignment is my guess for the tire wear…same thing happened to Caden when he got his lift in the Jeep Cherokee…uneven wear. Safe travels home…love the bump!
Thanks Tracey! Definitely getting an alignment asap. Hopefully the smoke is better now!
Down in central Illinois we also had poor air quality! People with health problems were told to stay inside.
As a Calgarian, you were here for probably the worst smoke window! Things are much better now and not many fires are left, but it definitely got quite scary up north with the evacuations. Glad you two still had a good time in Alberta and with the family despite it all.
Also, based on that tire wear you really need an alignment, too much positive camber or maybe toe. If you start to see the belt that's under the tread then you should immediately replace the tire as it could blow out.
Great to hear that it’s cleared up for you! 🙏🏼👍🏼
Calgary is sooooooooo beautifull and the Rocky Mountains are one of the most amazing view I've ever seen/been at!
I just got back from my first ever car camping trip (you guys really showed me how doable it is) and we also face the same worries in Halifax since they are having fires there too! Man it’s crazy and devastating for so many people. You almost feel guilty being a tourist there when real lives are being affected
Hi Leah and Levi. I hope you're staying safe. I watch a couple of channels that stream out of Edmonton and things there look very concerning. Re your tyres, perhaps the Prius could do with a wheel alignment and balance? It could be something as simple as incorrect air pressure for the type of driving you're doing or (I hope not) a problem with the suspension. I wonder if the distribution of your cargo in the back might have an effect? Worth getting a mechanic to check it out, anyway. Good luck. Leah, I got very excited when I was at your stage of pregnancy. My thoughts were along the lines that in just a few more weeks, my baby was viable and could survive if born early. I found that to be such a relief and it allowed me to enjoy the pregnancy more from that point. You look the picture of health. Best wishes to you and your families. Be well, lovies. :-) ♥♥
Thanks for the lovely comment! I think we’re going to have to work on it but I think it’s the alignment most likely 🧐
@@LeahandLevi I hope you get it sorted soon. 🙂
I only have one use for the pressure washer: Washing our outdoor rug. Definitely not worth owning one just for that but I borrow it from my parents 1x year. The fires over there are scary as heck. C’mon rain!
Super soakers but for adults basically imo...
Yep, checking the air filters.
Reverse cycle aircon… sealed unit for air.
Wheel alignment for the car would be good and rotating the tyres to even the wear for that distance.
Oh gosh so sorry you had to travel through our province during this terrible time or fires. It has been very scary and nerve racking for many of us. But I was very glad to see that you made it through ok. My children live in Whitecourt, which you would have driven through and probably fueled upon before heading north to GP. We are in Sangudo on highway 43 and you would have passed by us on your way north. Glad you made it through ok. Hope at this point you’ve made it home to Victoria ok. Thanks for sharing, always enjoy your videos.
Hope everything has cleared up for your family over there! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
We love to see that" belly bump" Leah!!! Safe travels and make yourself a happy weekend.
The hype of a pressure washer is more about things that scrubbing can't get without ruining brushes, or can't get at all.
Think bricks, stone pavers, or other stuff with years and years or even decades and decades of crud so engrained you didn't even think it could ever be removed because all other cleaning methods seemed to imply it was just a stain - just part of the material.
For that, the amount of pressure does matter too - some pressure washers aren't worth the hype because they really are basically just glorified hoses. The ones worth the hype would've peeled the paint right off your car at their highest settings.
Regardless, I don't think I can imagine a more boring way to use a pressure washer than washing a car - something that could never benefit from it.
With love
Great watch as always and stay safe out there ✌🏿💜. The one downside to summer is all the fires.
And it seems every year it gets smokey earlier and earlier meaning those forest fires are popping up even earlier than usual. And i think with global warming it's only gonna be getting worse. Safe travels as always.
Wow what an experience ! When you drove through Calgary down Shaganappi & John Laurie blvd. I was revisiting where I used to live ! I lived just off John Laurie Blvd! Built our first home there & we’re married in it!
Take care guys!😗
oh another adddition to the workd congratultioms! leah couldnt be a better mom im soexcited for you both! best wishes and lives abound fornthis beautiful. keep leah fed well shesgonnaa be a professor. shes so smart.
I have a 2015 Winnebago Trend 23L. 24 feet long (7m?), gets 14 mpg, has seat belts for 6 and sleeping up to six (three beds, but my wife and I sleep in the smallest one). Has everything, but it's pretty small. It's kind of like the Travato 59g, but a little bigger in every way--which is nice.
Fires in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and BC have calmed down quite a bit with the recent rain the Provinces have been receiving! Best news is that highways to Grande Prairie are now open and no longer closed off 😊
Another fun video, be safe guys…also get your alignment in car/steering wheel check that may be why rubbing on tires as they are….have fun, cant wait to watch another video….🤟🏻💕👍🤓🫶🏻
Thanks for being here! 🥰
Oh no how sad. Be careful ❤❤❤❤
Front end alignment and new tires are needed :( safe travels!
Hope you are safe from the fires by now! Even though there wasn't so much adventure in this video, it's always good to see you guys doing stuff :D Awesome to hear Prius is such a work horse that makes it reliable travel vehicle..Gives me ideas.. ;) Out of curiosity what happened with the battery?
You’ll have to watch that video! 😜 short story is the battery just kept dying because we have the hatch open a lot
We are in Whistler, all clear here :)
The smoke from the fires reached us in Colorado. Crazy!
Take care. You’ll be home before you know it 💕
You might want to get those tires checked out. BTW you need to get them balanced and rotated every couple thousands of miles. And the care needs to get an alignment ASAP!! amazing video as always, Stay Safe 💙
Hello! I love your videos! I just wanted to say that the problem with your tires might be that they need to be balanced or aligned. Look into it! Good luck and safe travels!
Please get your front wheels checked! It seems to be out of alignment… great video as always ❤
We've been bothered by that smoke all the way in Massachusetts. Later frosts and hazy skies and spring slow to warm up. Great sunsets. Hope you've recovered by now.
Hopefully it gets better soon! 🥺🙏🏼
Those were so bad, the smoke was traveling to the NY metro area and we were getting warnings about it for people with breathing issues.
That's crazy dang... truly baffling how far the smoke can travel. 😬
We had air quality warnings about a week ago in rural Minnesota. You could smell the smoke in the air. It’s wild how far the smoke can travel. I hope your travels are safe.
Wish I knew you were going through Winnipeg. I would have suggested Stella's they have the best veggie burger in the world!! haha probably not, but in my world. :) We used to live in Winnipeg and I miss them.
I was thinking about you guys. I live in Montana. We had smoke for a week. Stay safe!
The smoke has reached us here in Dever, Colorado
Oh it was terrible 😮
You should contact Heath & Alyssa and ask if they have had cabinets opening. They are traveling with 2 in car seats! They haven’t posted anything so maybe they know a trick, maybe it was faulty cabinet doors on who posted or maybe they have them fixed for safety.
It amazes me how in Minnesota, we have very poor and dangerous air quality for some when Canada has fires😮
Wildfire smoke sucks, I dealt with that one a road trip in 2020, no fun
Its definitely better in Edmonton now thank goodness
Pressure Washers: Try a high powered, powerful one - *so* satisfying
I was born and raised in Toronto and I've lived here my whole life. I've never understood what people call a "Canadian accent" but I get it now 😂
No joke, we had similar levels of smoke in Denver, CO from the very same fires.
Flying into SLC I was excited to see a view of the eastern mountains last week but due to the smoke coming in I didn’t get my anticipated view. The smoke travels far depending on the wind.
Holy smokes. Glad that you're hanging in there. Maybe we'll bump into you when you hit 100 Mile House. :)
Maybe! We’re running through pretty quick though sadly 😭
If you can get them packs or reusable kn94/95 s came be super handy in the car and better than breathing in even the clear but toasty air. Throw ‘em on when you hop out etc. I’m in California and fire season(aka all year) is hell on the lungs even when it’s not particularly close. The air purifier air ahhh when you walk in tho lmao 😂
Luckily it rains too much here 👌 Saying that, it's been gorgeous these past couple weeks and we haven't had rain 🇬🇧
I always mop the car too😀, this way i can reach the top the easiest!
so daring ill do some crazy stuff no fire kinda stuff unless its cooking on grill!
Wheel alignment needed, balancing of tyres too. That tyre won’t pass roadworthy
💚
Look at that cute little baby bump 😍
Regarding your front tires; probably front end is out of alignment, tire balance, Not much to correct but get the tires rotated too if that one in particular is still safe.
Could the tire problem be your alignment?
On average, you should have your balancing and alignment checked every 5,000 - 6,000 kilometres and automatically every time you change to new tyres. We drove to Toronto and back to Vancouver. While we were in Toronto we had an oil change, tire rotation and alignment for the trip home.
My guess is why your tires are doing what they’re doing. Also, you need new tyres on the bald front tyres. ❤
Just saw other comments. Late to the party! Xx
Naked in the mountains? You already have a kid on the way, you don’t need to make more! Lol
Re the fires I’ll echo what others have said about getting an N95 mask for both of you (must mostly Leah). Once fires start burning buildings God knows what chemicals, etc are in the air that were never meant to be.
I’ll also add that you’ll probably have to change the air filter on your car since it’s “lungs” are also being impacted.
Finally, when we had fires in California, I found a bit of painters tape around the door frame & any other areas like windows without curtains made all the difference in keeping smoke out so the air purifier had a chance.
Yeah we’re going to be getting an air purifier when we get home for fire season now sadly… thanks for leaving a comment though!
My tyre looked like that, and then it blew in the middle of nowhere! Make sure you have a spare - especially when driving through wild fire areas… don’t want to get stuck!!
We’re dealing with it asap!
I have a family in Grand Prairie too. I hope you guys are all okay.
The Prius needs an alignment to prevent the weird tire wear
Welcome to Washington
Can you add a link to the camp chairs you're sitting in to the description box, if you have one pls! I have been looking for ones like this (I've seen them in other vids and such), but can't find them anywhere! THANKS!
They're the helinox chairs but we got them both second hand because they're verrry expensive!
@LeahandLevi well that's believable...they look lush!! I'll keep my eyes open! Thanks!
Looks like you need your tracking sorted for the front wheels.
What hike did you go on in Calgary area at the beginning of the video?
Porcupine hills!
Where did you park the RV and do that hike? I’d love to go there!
Porcupine hills! Such a good spot!
oh liltum tum
Are you done with the camper?
I have no idea why people use a pressure washer for washing a car. It doesn't help, you still have to wash the car and using the pressure washer can force water into areas you don't want it. But they're real useful for others tasks like cleaning bricks which have algae and other things growing on them, or cleaning carpets because it force water into the fibers...there are specific tasks it is useful for, but not washing a car. I feel like some people use it for their car just because they think it's fun, or because they want to justify owning it.
And yeah...climate change is a big issue...fires are only going to get worse. (And get an alignment done on the car...that's real bad on the tire).
Yeah I agree… I’m just gonna use a hose from now on haha
Where did you do that hike?
Porcupine hills!
Pressure washer uses less water.
Pressure washer is way more fun when doing really dirty pavement, wood, or stripping paint! If the car was caked in mud you would've enjoyed the heck out of it
yes but thats with any rig you guys get... its gonna be moving so stuff can and will fall off no matter what rig you get when the kid is born, its all in the prep and how the doors are secured
Everyone should be wearing n95+ masks whenever it's fire season! Protect your lungs and your health!
I hope you guys put on sunscreen before your naked afternoon lol. Don’t want to burn your nethers
It’s good to hear that someone is thinking of us 😅😜
your tow is off on that side for the wear of the tire. dangerousdriving side walls that bald. please get another tire!!😊 baby on board😊
There is nothing like being naked at the top of a mountain 😊
Sad realities of climate change :( The next generation will have something like four times the natural disasters to deal with. I wish that people could see the emissions they create on a visual spectrum as they're being created. If every car, truck, plane and power station was spewing out fumes as visible as smoke from the fires, then we would likely get the same eery feeling and be more conscious and concerned about what we're doing to our atmosphere. Unfortunately, we only see the impacts once we get to the wildfire stage and it's less evident we're responsible.
Hopefully more solutions come on board over the years! 🥺😬
I also enjoy poop
16:16 its a wheel alignment issue. ur welcs :)
