Very nice hotel, food looks wonderful too. We had to arrive in Southampton 2 days before the Celebrity cruise we have just got off because of the train strikes. Due to the last minute change all the hotels were full but we managed to get a 2 bed room Charles Hope apartment a short walk from City Terminal for £99 a night which was great considering the city was full. Really loved Celebrity Silhouette.
Hi Peter, we know a few people who ended up doing what you did because of the train strikes. Glad to hear you still got somewhere to stay and more importantly had a wonderful Celebrity Silhouette cruise. She's such a gorgeous ship.
It really was a lovely hotel Karen & Stuart, especially if you are celebrating something (other than just going on a cruise) , it is a fantastic way to start off an holiday. Linzi & Mark
How wonderful, I think as you say, if it's a special treat, then with every penny . I thought the room was expensive considering you had to pay for breakfast and dinner too - however, I will definitely add it to my list of must do's :-) thanks as always for a lovely video AND for making me hungry...yet again lol ...Terry x
Hi Terry, for that special treat then it is absolutely worth it, we wouldn't stay there every time we travel from Southampton, but staying there occasionally makes it something special and well worth it on those occasions. Take care, Linzi & Mark

Have a marvellous cruise 🚢 we are really enjoying our time on board. The weather so far has been surprisingly good, 20 most days and sunshine all the way 😊We have tried club dining for the first time, and honestly it is far better than brittania and the service is very good. We have been to veranda and lido speciality but honestly the food in brittania club is so good and varied we didn’t really need to. Hi from Prince and have a wonderful time. xx

It may have been nice, but at £179 per night plus £17.50 each for breakfast plus a good but expensive dinner plus wine, we do not think that is value for money. We recently stayed at a nearby Premier Inn for considerably less, and were quite happy there for a pre cruise stay.
It is definitely more expensive than what we've stayed at in Southampton too Brian. If you've watched any of our other pre-cruise stays down there it's normally Holiday Inn. However as a treat (it was Valentines the night before our cruise) we decided to give our self a treat, and for that it was worth it and compared to similar 5 star hotels (not Holiday Inn or Premier Inn) it compared very favourably. Would we stay there before every cruise. Absolutely not. Would we stay there again for a special occasion. Absolutely. Have a lovely day, Linzi and Mark
@@stevep108 We parked at the hotel on the night for free Steve and then drove over to the car park for Virtuosa on the morning, which was only a five minute driving. You keep your keys with you at both Horizon terminal and Ocean Terminals car parks.
I do feel sorry for the poor old cinema next door though. They've got obscured from the road and it's a bit blinding when the sun bounces of fyour windows. Lucky us locals are hardy.:-)
That's always the problem with new buildings, especially big ones like the Harbour Hotel, that they can obscure the existing ones, hopefully it didn't impact the existing ones too much, and maybe even brought some new customers in? Never thought about the sun bouncing off it. Good job you are made of stern stuff there 😂

I agree, the grills are a little out of our range 💰 but after trying club I think for us it’s the way to go x

Where did you park for the duration of your cruise?
We parked in the ABP Car Park at Horizon terminal. Cost us about £80 for 7 Nights.
