There is no 3 horizontal dots to tap that I can see, only 3 vertical, but it just says report.
I’d love to have this car, but it would be more than I could afford anyway, some amount in 6 digits for sure. The engine didn’t sound like the 427 435 hp though, that would’ve had a solid lifter cam. The 396 425 hp in the 1965 Impala SS was a sold lifter cam with a factory 7000 rpm tach in the instrument panel, showing a 6400 rpm shift point, but it was in a crappy location for any serious use. And btw, the 427 435 hp tri carb engine wasn’t the most powerful 427 offered, far from it. Although Chevrolet wanted everyone to think so, because they didn’t want it in the hands of irresponsible crazy ass baby boomer’s, but was meant for professional racing drivers, and it was considerably more money, along with no added amenities, and so it wouldn’t have made sense to buy it, when it was rated at the same horse power. It was the 427 L-88, that was deceivingly, rated at the same 435 hp, but at only 5300 rpm,. But in actuality it developed 550 + hp at 6400 rpm, and that was with restrictive exhaust manifold’s, that were immediately discarded and replaced with headers. And so with a little added tuning and tweaking, these were easily 600 + hp engines.
Very nice Chevy! I did not know about the Chevy SS angle- I always assumed that they were Impala SSs.
Beautiful Chevrolet.
Thanks Lou for bringing this classic to us and for everything that you do.
Hi Jeff, Happy to share this one with you. Glad to read you enjoy the looks of this Chevrolet. You're welcome, Lou
Same deal for the '66 Nova lineup , the '66 was Not a Nova SS , but a Chevy II SS , not a single Nova emblem to be found anywhere in or on the car . There were five Chevy II , three SS and three Super Sport emblems , but no Nova's .
Lou, not only do you manage to find and document some of the most desirable cars ever built, but you also manage to get the most knowledgable and enthusiastic of car owners behind those classics. It's the stories these folks bring, that gives these cars a special meaning!
Hi Michael, High praise :-) Glad you're enjoying the Channel with me, Lou
Wow!!! This car is absolutely beautiful. So clean, black paint without any imperfections, even the glassware over all the gages looks perfect and new. The 427 engine is museum quality. Thank you both for the opportunity to see a real gem.
Hi Mikey B., High praise :-) My pleasure sharing this car with you. You're welcome, Lou
My dad years ago pulled the same trick on my mother lol My dad couldn't get his high performance car she said we need a station wagon well back then you could order anything so he ordered a 68 Dodge Coronet wagon with a 440 automatic in it and it's still tore up the streets fond of memories now as for me about 15 years ago I purchased a 1969 Impala triple black which originally was a 396 car for the person before I got it scattered the motor so when I purchased it it had a 454 in it should have never sold their car what a nice cruiser it was and this one had power windows power brakes power steering air conditioning all the creature comforts
Hi Bill, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Dads trick on your Mom :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou

Hi CarThief News, Not to many. Good news! Here is one more for you to enjoy, Lou ua-cam.com/video/KfYoS-rYocI/v-deo.html
Boy, you are right about the paint. It's fantastic! And this Chevy definitely knows how to get down the road, too. Thanks for finding & sharing Mr. Mroz and his '67 SS with us, Lou!
Hi TheGunfighter45acp, Happy to read this is fantastic :-) My pleasure sharing this car with you. You're welcome, Lou
@@loucostabile I have never saw one of these before that's not an Impala very rare car obviously
During the years that cars like this could be seen on the street, I only saw three full-size 427 Chevrolet cars. One of them was a Biscayne, and the other two were SS 427 Cars. They were pretty quick for what they were. They were nice looking too. This example is a beautiful car. The owner deserves to be proud.
Hi Randy, Happy to read you appreciate the rarity of seeing this car today :-) Glad you enjoy the looks of this car, Lou
Thanks for the link to this SS 427 Lou. I like the black paint more than the blue 17,500 mile survivor.
You're welcome. Happy to read you enjoy this one Brian.
One detail that I didn't hear mentioned is that the front seat is a "Strato-back" bench seat. It's a bench seat with bucket seat backs, so it looks sporty, and with a wide center fold-down armrest for added comfort. So, that's why it has a column shifter. So, while most Super Sports came with buckets and console shift, the Strato-back bench was an option on any Super Sport and Caprice. I have a 67 Impala SS with the Strato-back bench, and it's my favorite seat for those cars, since it gives you a comfy place to rest your right arm, or you can flip up the armrest and sit next to your date if you want to.

I like how you pointed out the Impala figure in the backseat. Nice showing!
Hi Jed, Happy to read the details you enjoy, Lou
Wow is that thing GORGEOUS!! 😍 No better color combo than black & chrome. 😎
High praise :-)
My dad (our garage) had a 67 ss 396, it was good shape no rust, no dents, in the 60's 70's 80's we ran a garage and junk yard we pulled the engine and crushed it. Watching this is hard to do after what we did. We seen all muscle cars come and go just like other cars. 64.5 mustang nice we sold for $1250. 66 and 67ss chevells came and went just as easy. Why couldn't we see into the future just a little bit. Dad sold a 57chevy in good shape for $625. It's so sad we remember those things...
Hi joracer1, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Dads cars :-) Good news! All those cars you remember are right here on this UA-cam Channel for you to enjoy. Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
This One is a BEAUTY!!!
Hi Michael P, I agree, Lou
Grandparents bought a 67 Caprice new, still remember riding in it as a kid.
4 seasons ac would quit for 4 seasons. 2 days after getting it back from the dealer poof, gone again. Late 80s I took posession of it.
What a great fwy cruiser that car was. Great styling front to back!
Grille has the same batwing shape and look as the chevelles that yr
Hi port nut, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Grandparents car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
big doors, big windows, big motor! what else is needed for happiness?) Lovely car!
Well said :-)
50 years ago I installed a 1970 LS6 454 in a 65 Impala. I drag raced it. Best e.t. 1257@112 mph.I love this 67. I’m a big guy and I love big cars.Bravo
67&63 for me, someone once said they never made an ugly Impala, don't know about that but this dang sure ain't one..lol
Hi Keith, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Love it! Black/gold (orig) CA plate car! Don't see them and for '67 the fast back was far and few in between here in SE VA. My '67 Caprice 2 dr hdtp had the 327 w/400 auto trans posi traction buckets/console factory A/C, blue/black vinyl top/blue interior (blue was fading so I painted her black like this one). Dad put a cam in it for me and it was performing like an SS....but way too harsh on gas so stock cam went back in ! This guy has a gem!
Hi K B, Happy to read you enjoy this "gem!" :-) Lou
the '67 Impala was definitely a car that was absolutely well thought of for the year of 1967 in America. Its rebellious style that screams sign of the times.
Hi Strumminandwrenchin, Thank you for viewing and sharing your thoughts. Hope you see many more cars on this UA-cam Channel you enjoy. Please subscribe, and hit the "bell" so you can see all the cars when they are uploaded on this UA-cam Channel, Lou
65 - 68 impalas , the body stayed the same.
@@leeketner6488 uhm in the 67, if you noticed, the C pillar of the Impala 2 door, became thinned out and more angled compared to 65-66. One of the reasons I admired the Impala’s design cues is that it corresponds with the era of the United States. This is my stricly, MY OPINION, the 58-64 Impala designs signifies the last remaining era of a wholesome America. And when the 65 redesign came out, it’s new rebellious style is a far cry from the conservative 64. That design cue just says America is losing its wholesomeness unto a new generation of chaos, destruction etc..
That truck space is the size of a new york studio apartment. Lol
You're right.
She’s a beauty Lou! I still say it’s an Impala SS!
Hi David, Happy to share this "beauty" with you :-) Lou
Another gr8 rare ride Lou! Talk about an iron fist in a velvet glove...
Hi Audie, Happy to share this "iron fist in a velvet glove" with you :-) Lou
My all-time favourite car. One day I will own one of these!
Hi No Name, Happy to read for you this is "My all-time favourite car." :-) Hope you're behind the wheel of the right one for you soon, Lou
Very nice super sport this was my time cars along with the 50's cars a friend of mine who is gone now had a red Impala 327 4 speed that was a very nice car sure do miss these thanks Lou.
Hi Leroy, Ahhh good times. Good news! You can still see ones like this one the Channel to bring back good memories. You're welcome, Lou
This man and this car seem like a justified fit
Nice :-)
And Ron to boot! He looks great! As does car..!
:-)
Hi Lou this is one of my favorite Classic Chevys :-)
Of note; the 3 carburetor version of the 427 was L72, not L71. Even though this 425 horsepower monster motor wasn't available in 1967 for the.big Chevys, it WAS available in 1966, 1968 and 1969.
Also, this car features the optional "Strato-Bench" front seat that was styled like the buckets. When you ordered the bench seat and the automatic, you got a column shifter and no center console...like with your featured car
Hi Bill, Happy to read "this is one of my favorite Classic Chevys :-)". Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge, Lou
Yes....good for long drive on high ways.....
Thank you for sharing :-)
I'd like to have another '67 Chevelle... mine wasn't original. But it DID have a BUILT 454 w/ a B&M Streetfighter 400...
LOTS of FUN
Hope you're behind the wheel of the right car for you soon.
@loucostabile unfortunately, I went down on 2 wheels Nov. 20, 2020 and the helmet came off. It left me with a TBI, and driving myself scares me.
I'm praying that one day it gets better or even goes away... it's a balance issue.
I love the fact that it doesn't have an obnoxious aftermarket exhaust.
It's plenty loud. I could never leave a car stock but when I see one that is it's very special.
Hi Milford, Happy to read the details you enjoy, Lou
Beautiful. I use to see that car at the old chevy vette fest show in chicago alot. Very nice
Hi Roger, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) Glad to read you've seen this car in person, Lou
What a sleek, black beauty!
Nice :-)
¡Saludos cordiales Lou!
Hi Jaime, High praise for the black car with spectacular lines :-) My pleasure sharing this one with you, Lou
I would be proud to possess one of those.
Thanks Lou.
Hi Gary, Happy to read you'd enjoy one of these cars :-) You're welcome, Lou
Sweet, sweet ride w/ legendary performance to boot. One of the first shows from Kindiggit design featured a 67,427 triple black convertible w/ air ride on American racing 20"s. That car made me drool a little! This one's very nice too.
Hi Richard, Happy to read you enjoy this "Sweet, sweet ride" :-) Lou
Fabulous 67 SS 427 in black with a black office. The rear antenna just knocks it out of the park. Thnx Lou for sharing another great find.
Hi Felix, Happy to read this one is "Fabulous" :-) You're welcome, Lou

Thank you Lou for bringing these cars in their owners to our attention. I like the way you ask the questions and allow them to give full complete answers and the extra tidbits of information that make this so interesting
Hi FMD Houston, Thank you for sharing you like the way I ask questions. Glad you're enjoying the Channel with me :-) Lou
Many people get the SS427 confused with an Impala Super Sport with a 427 bbc. That hood only came on the SS427, and they are very rare and expensive if one is found. Btw, unusual that it's a column shift car. Every one I've seen were floor consoles.
Hi Cousin Strawberry, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge. Lou
Because the seat is a bench, it has a column shift. That seat is a bench seat with a center fold-down armrest, and is called a "Strato-back bench" because the backs are the same as the Strato-bucket seat backs. So with the Strato backs, it makes this bench seat look sporty. And the center armrest adds comfort. While most Super Sports had buckets with a floor shift console, the Strato-back bench was optional in any Super Sport and Caprice. I had one in a 67 Impala SS fastback. It's my favorite seat for these cars.
Beautiful car. As a teen in the early 70s a friend of my brother bought a 67 SS427, 4 SPD . Only had it two months and wrote it off. Driving drunk, spun out and hit a pole backwards. No one would talk to him for weeks for destroying that car.
Hi Doug Boys, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Brothers Friends car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
As an fan of the Impala SS I didn't know that Chevy had built this particular Impala without calling it a Impala I am surprised for sure.
I love Camaros , Mustangs , Challengers etc.... as much as anyone but , these are the coolest cars ever made in my opinion .
Hi Guitarhole, High praise :-) Lou
Always been a big fan of the Super Sports, Lou.
Ron's done a great job, and I love it that he's kept it so long.
My car in high school was a '65 Impala S. S. convertible - rally blue, white top, 327.
Those were the days...
Hi Dave, Happy to read you're a Big Fan of the SS's :-) Glad to read you had a cool car too, Lou
Wonderful car and great owner...learned something today I'd never heard of these cars...ty

Hi Martin, Happy to receive a "wow!" from you :-) Lou
Nice job Lou, great full-sized bowtie!
Hi Dan, Happy to share this full-sized bowtie with you :-) Lou
Beautiful car and thanks for sharing. These were very rare to see along with the 68 and 69. Technically they are Impalas. Chevrolet sales literature indicated the SS427 equipment could be added to the Impala Super Sport model. It was devoid of the Impala name although the logo is on the rear speaker. In 1969 the SS427 also carried the Impala name. Either way fantastic car that was a delight to see featured.

Hi Noel, High praise :-) My pleasure sharing the "fun stuff" with you. You're welcome, Lou
Very nice! During my high school years there was a cop in the city who would buy a new Chevy every year. They were always black on black and statring in 1967 they were always SS 427's In 1971 I think it was a black on black Monte Carlo SS 454.
Hi fortyshooter1, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Cop in your city's cars :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Beautiful Car! My mom, in 1968, drove a 1967 Impala with the 327, AC/PS/ PDB and an AM/FM radio. One thing I remember was the blue tinted glass because of the AC.
Hi Bill, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Moms car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou

Gorgeous SS 427! Very seldom seen!! Great video Lou, Seasons Greetings buddy!🎄🎄🎄
Hi Vincent, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) Seasons Greetings to you to Buddy! Lou
Wow wow wow!! That’s a beast! Super rare!
Wow x 3 = Winner!
I always liked the 1967 full sized Chevys. The Bel Air, the Impala, the Caprice, and the SS had the 3 light combination on the back. Only the Biscayne had the duals, that year only. Great video as always!
Hi Scott, Happy to read you like the full sized Chevys :-) Appreciate the kind words on the video, Lou
Merry Christmas Lou from Pflugerville, Texas. Another great video of American Muscle Car history.
Merry Christmas James C :-) My pleasure sharing with you.

Hi Rudy, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) You're welcome, Lou
When I watch these videos, with the two of you just talking about the vehicle and the packages, options etc. I don't thinkyou realize that you are just talking, but a lot of us really learn facts that we didn't know before. Great video and detail as always. Thanks Lou. Thumbs up!
Hi Brian, Happy to read you're learning. I'm learning from the Caretakers all the time, and I find that to be so much fun. My pleasure sharing with you. You're welcome, Lou
It is an Impala. I have a 1967 Chevy Impala SS Convertible with a 396 motor. In the Owners manual for the 1967 Impala it lists the 427 as an option for the car. My Impala has the same Impala cover for the rear speaker and the Super Sport trim piece over the glove box. This is the highest level SS Impala you could get, but it is an Impala.
Well Ryan, I can understand why you shared your comment because these are so rarely seen, however this one is not an Impala, and this one is not either. ua-cam.com/video/KfYoS-rYocI/v-deo.html
Beautiful big block Chevy.

Happy to read you enjoy the design of this car :-)
Lou , thanks for bringing another cool car to your channel. The 67 SS427 is one of my favorite cars. There was a guy in my hometown that actually had a red one four speed and I believe 411 gears , the first thing I noticed was the 427 emblems on the fender and the next thing was the cool Hood.He used to come into the drive-in restaurant cuz he liked one of the girls that was a car hop and it was on my paper route I actually liked the car so much I actually bought the AMT model and painted it red I still have it stored away with all my other old models. Thanks for posting also I still didn't get to meet you at MCACN maybe next year.
Hi Nova Wagon, Happy to read this is a favorite of yours :-) Glad to read you have a model of this car. NICE! You're welcome. If you see me at a car show, say hello and we'll go and find some fun ones for the Channel, Lou
Sweet If I had only known then mine was blue and a 4 speed 373 posi...... This L 36 engine was also a 390 in a corvette with holley 4 bbl and a 400 HP tripower in a vette
Happy to read you enjoy this "Sweet" car :-)
Seeing all of the detail on this car, especially on the inside, made me ralize how nice this car really is when compared to just seeing one roll by on the street
Hi Sabba_Dabba, My pleasure sharing this one with you :-) Glad you enjoy the details, Lou
Genuinely a black beauty. Interesting that it has the flight bench seat with the bench seat cushion and the bucket seat backrests and no center console.

Beautiful SS.
Hi Bobby, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this SS :-) Lou
Goodday Lou,
Another great video as per usual. Can fault a 427 Big Block Chevrolet in that beautiful hardtop fastback body.
So glad that something I can now confirm is that these muscle cars were known as a SS 427 Chevrolet not a Impala.
Absolutely stunning & a great ride & chat.
Your number 1 Fan in Melbourne, Australia.

Goodday Louis, Happy to share this "Heavy Chevy" with you :-) Thank you for being my # 1 Fan in Australia, Lou
NICE ONE LOU! Merry Christmas and Happy New Years. Thank you for bringing us all Great Content all year round. 😊 I remember our Neighbors daughter came home with a brand new Purple 1967 Biscayne sedan with the largest Engine. She only cared about the color. She took my mom to the store and my mom came back holding her head and kept saying she heard ringing in her ears and said she thought she was in a Amusement park ride. She had to go to bed for the night LOL. I never caught on until I was a little older what really took place lol.
Glad you enjoy this one gene978 :-) Merry Christmas & Happy New Years to you too. My pleasure sharing with you. Happy to read this car brings back memories of your neighbors Daughters car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Ironically on the AMT model kit of this car as well as the 68 thru 70 versions it did come with 3 deuces as an engine option
Hi Chris, Thank you for sharing the AMT model details, Lou
Stunning!!!!
Happy to read "Stunning!!!!" :-)
Pretty cool car. I have never seen one of these rascals before. Someone should have thrown Ralph Nader out the door at GM. He was one of the ones who started the no fun movement in the auto industry. That is a fine running machine. Thanks Lou.
Hi Greg, Happy to read "Pretty cool car" :-) You're welcome, Lou
Awesome! Probably my favorite year Impala! I've got a model identical to this!
Hi Red 13, Happy to read this is the favorite year Impala for you :-) Glad to read you have a cool model of this one too. NICE! Lou

Our family car was a new 67 Impala. Never knew there was a none Impala Impala.
Hi Robert, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your family car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
The one I worked on in 68-69 didn't have a smog pump. That threw me off for a minute but Cal car cleared that up. Still one of my two favorite cars ever. My friend still has the original motor out of his 67
Hi Kenneth, Happy to read in the Top 2 favorite cars for you :-) Lou
Beautiful Chevy .
:-)
Nice looking Chevy. Big motor means big gas consumption, but fun to drive. Thanks Lou and Merry Christmas.
Hi Lennart, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car. Smiles to the gallon driving this one :-) You're welcome and Merry Christmas, Lou
In 1975 I bought a 67 SS 427 / 385 HP with the original drivetrane for $650 (it just had headers on it as the only changed part). It came with the Window Sticker as well- it had the bucket seats / 4 speed / console / posi and was Marina Blue with 85,000 miles. I beat the car hard and sold it a year later for $750 and it was burning about a quart of oil every 100 miles lol - JUST LOVE the Giant Fastback style !~

Hi Greg, Happy to read you enjoy the body style with this car :-) Glad you enjoy the ride, Lou
I know you said it's not an Impala but inJersey Jersey my neighbor had one but in the back sides it had emblems that said Super Spory 2+2. My grandfather ordered a 67 4 door Impala, blue with a a black vinyl roof . He wanted to exercise his bad leg and it was ordered with a 396 with a 3 on the tree! It also had climate control . It had a temperature dial where the fan switch was! I had and sold like an idiot a 67 Impala SS convertible. Originally it had a 327 but was switched out to a 350/350 with a turbo 400 trans
