That is awesome. I am fishing Rainy next week (April 14th) in my kayak on the 🇨🇦 side. Never fished there before, do you know if the walleye run right up to Manitou Rapids? I was going to launch just downstream from there.
The Rainy is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. We fished it in the 80’s and 90’s back when you could keep one over 19 inches( on the Ontario side) and boy did we. Never got my 10 pounder but many, many very nice fish up to 9.12 . It’s a dream come true for many. Small water, easy to fish, early spring open water and tons of fish. You’d catch the occasional sturgeon and what a blast. I’d recommend this location to anyone and everyone and these guys show how to do it. This show has brought back many great memories. Word of warning though the fish taste like paper. Huge paper mill in International Falls and it’s discharge make the fish taste like paper. Thanks guys !
