    Great video! I got my needles from Heidifeathers too and they are great, have been using the same needle for almost 10 years and it's still fantastic! It's 38 triangle and I bought a few in case they break as some people said needles will break but so far mine lasted for years!😅 Number 34 and 44...are felting needles invented by the Chinese?🤔If they are, then the 4 means death and 3 means life. So, 44 is double death so it's terrible especially for a needle!😂 and 34 is life and death which I guessed you can't mix life and death together, it's bad!😳. Well, maybe it's another reason after all...😅💜

    • @feltsbyphilippa
      @feltsbyphilippa  Рік тому +2

      I think you really must have found the reason why 34 and 44 don't exist. Absolutely no one else I have asked knows why and it absolutely could be because of superstition, I am very grateful for your theory, thank you. Yes, I have several needles that has lasted years so a good quality needle is definitely worth it, thanks for watching and commenting, really appreciate it 😀 xx

      @@MyzMyzterious32 Yep, 10 years🥰. China can make a lot of things, cheap with bad qualities, business comes first and quality doesn’t matter! But to think about it, things from China are cheap so do expect quality to be “cheap” too!😅.

    Thank you so much Philippa for ALL your videos and advice. Since starting needle felting about 3years ago its taken me awhile to get used to the different needles, but I have learned to only buy them at Heidifeathers as they are so helpful and informative with their colour coding and the little card explaining what they all are. Thanks again.

    I found this video very interesting and useful. Most of all I liked the closeups because you could see what the tips look like and realise how they perform in the felting. Unfortunately it is difficult to buy these specialist needles in Sweden. There is plenty of very good wool here though.

    Tysm! Ive been wondering about different needles. Im a beginner and bought supplies on Amazon to see if i liked it. I bought multiple needles because ive broke so many. I was just looking last night to buy a felting mat as i got the crappy white foam. I will see if i can make one 1st. Definitely have wondered how to get smooth. Im ocd and cant stand the few items ive done having so much fuzz.

    • @feltsbyphilippa
      @feltsbyphilippa  4 місяці тому

      Micron is the thickness of a strand of wool, the lower it is the thinner the wool and the longer it may take to felt if it is not carded. 28 micro is an average thickness so will be ok, merino wool is about 19 micron so quite fine and fluffy, still useable but best to card it a bit first.
