Newest fan, here. I can’t count how many times I enjoyed that BR album (many). Awesome pick of 10. It’s kinda cool to just randomly see what the current selling price for something in the collection is going for. Also, love the BF shirt; wore it to a show once and a guy there commented “That’s very funny”. Didn’t realize until later that he was probably connecting the “Everything Went Black” with my also being African American. Ha

Love watching these videos! I have similar woes with Discogs...the time consuming factor and sifting through multiple pressings being the biggest ones. I just had a discussion with a product manager from Discogs and 5 others on their team asking for my input and suggestions. I have several albums that aren't on Discogs, too, and guess we'll just have to do our best to enter them manually, which I've been a bit intimidated about. Beautiful purple cover copy of that Misfits Walk Among Us! Wow, I love the cover of that Suicide Canadian press you have! Badass showings from your collection, as always!
I have everything in my collection (4k+ records) entered on Discogs. How accurate I am with the exact pressing can depend on how much I paid and how much I think it's worth. If it's a common record that's not worth much, I may narrow it down to a few possibilities and choose the most common pressing.

Beautiful copy of Samhain. I've been hemming and hawing over a copy I saw awhile back at a shop. I'm in the same boat as far as buying records now, as I've slowed down incredibly. Seems like more and more I'm pulled to the "wall" in record stores instead of the bins.
The thing about Discogs is that it was (and still is) built by the community, by collectors like us, so it doesn't have everything yet specially when it comes to independent releases or all variants of the same release. It's a pain to submit new entries to be reviewed, but that is how it works. Feels like voluntary work though which isn't something every collector are willing to do. Anyway, nice to see your valuable picks ;)
I have both The Plugz 🔌& Social Distortion. The Another State Of Mind documentary Social D did is a favorite of mine. I remember promoting The Cruzados album on Arista in 1985. It's essentially The Plugz with a different name & didn't sell at all. I didn't know The Slits were on Island.
best way to put the collection into discogs is to buy all the stuff there an click the button: 'add to the collection' ;-) top video, VR rulez!!! if you take it serious it think in the punk genre high on the list are your 'descendents - milo...' with the insert and 'minor threat - out of step' with black back and insert (glad i have those too) cheers
Now when I buy from Discogs I do click on the ‘add to the collection’ button. I have found that that the seller isn’t always correct in what pressing they are selling.
Radio Wasteland just a couple mo the ago had an original of that Misfits album. I held it in my hands a few times but wow was it expensive. I decided finally to get it but was a day too late. Pink Floyd and The Beatles take days to enter one record but it is fun to get the collection all in discogs. Took me a year on my first collection. Love the Mailman Alarm
I don't normally think of value when it comes to my music collection but I've gotten to an age where I'm becoming curious. All classics, my friend. I have most of those on cd and tape. The exception being Suicide. I was fortunate enough to see Suicide in Austin back in '02 though. Such a strange duo. Thanks for the info and keep up the great uploads! Prost!
Same here but after so many years you look back and realize you have the original copy of something that the kids are ga-ga for. Not that I want to sell my collection but it would be nice to leave it to my kids and for them to roughly know it's worth. (because they hate daddy's music)

I saw Battalion Of Saints when I was in high school in the mid 1980s in Syracuse, NY. It felt cool and quaint to be there on the first floor of this isolated building two or three stories high in a run down neighborhood. It was devoid of most anything just white walls and varnished wood floors, but it had a name: The Artiseria, or at least it said that on my flyer. Local band Milton's Disciples were also playing, and the flyer I got from a MD's member made them look like the headliners. Battalion of Saints kept warming up with Van Halen's "Panama" I think without vocals. There was no stage. This girl/young woman was sitting on the floor with her legs out like a V. The guitarist took it upon himself to do a sort of knee slide into the midst of that V and solo with great postural theatricality. It might seem untoward but the girl seemed remarkably unfazed and indifferent, just watching the show. It was entertaining.
The Battalion Of Saints guitarist was really good. I have some flyers that opening bands had printed and they look like they are the headliners. Thanks for watching and the cool story.
Me personally I don't wanna know what my records are worth. I like cash so I could be tempted to sell. LOL... I've had guys tell me what some of them are worth when I show them or play them. The most money mentioned by a commenter for one I've shown was $700 for an old rockabilly artist I have. By the way Pat you forgot a spot to paint just to the right of your record shelf. I was a bit of an artist and he'd have me cut in the paint job. I had a quick steady hand for it and I never ever used tape...

That Negative FX record is great. I think that Samhain "Initium" is my most valuable record I have anymore because as soon as a record is worth more than I'd pay for it, I sell it.
My most expensive vinyl WAS Rudimentary Peni Death Church. I sold it on Discogs and the partner fees an taxes took about $70. I suppose now, Circle one Patterns of force on Upstart, Or Decry Falling 1st press. Also Germs GI 2nd press (also have an original Germs armband from back in the day)

It is by far my favorite Bad Religion album. Something that I seldom do but I recently went to a gig and saw the Dickies. They were really good. There were 7 opening bands.
I actually like the process of adding my stuff to discogs to, stick with it, you can always come back to some. Nice Bad Religion, I used to love Latch Key Kids off that one. Misfits is a great one, amazed you don't have the Plan 9 given your collection. Whats your thoughts on Anti Nowhere League? Live in Yugoslavia is probably all anyone needs but I love that album.

Dude. I’ve seen records you have that are way more expensive then the ones you listed here. I think you don’t realize how rare and expensive some of the records you have are. The most expensive ones I have are the ramones first album first press, and milo goes to college first pressing.

I've had to manually add releases to Discogs. It's not too bad.
Some of the albums that I have need to be entered. Others however seem to have characteristics from several entries. It can be confusing.

It was quite a slog adding my records (and CDs) to Discogs, but I am glad I did it. Sometimes I forget what records I have, If you can believe that, so it has saved me a couple of times.
Listen, I never used discogs, saw no need but I started this month, it killing me, I have over 8000 vinly more to add... you all lucky.
I keep telling myself to do a little at a time. The problem is that doing it tomorrow seems like a good idea today.
Would love to see more of these type vids. Coincidentally,the only ones I had of these 10 were the top two.
I may do another one of 60’s Psych records.

I never really considered the worth of records. I just picked up the ones I wanted. Often just based on the cover art.

you should definitely count the stains record you have, it’s only been pressed twice and the band is kinda a mystery, fantastic album

That spot is now painted. In fact all the painting inside is finally done.

Dude. I’ve seen records you have that are way more expensive then the ones you listed here. I think you don’t realize how rare and expensive some of the records you have are. The most expensive ones I have are the ramones first album first press, and milo goes to college first pressing.
