I cant tell you how many times I've seen men comment on this particular song about how they showed it to their wives or girlfriends, only to have them say something like "well, you dont understand what women go through". Ive even seen reactions where couples react to it, and their lady is either suppressing laughter or flat out saying none of it is true the whole time. Of course we understand issues women face. Its all over the internet and television. But nowhere do you see the issues and challenges facing men. When you do, it usually automatically devolves into just another gender war. Men dont have it better than women. We just dont face the same issues. Unfairness in divorce and family courts. Being labeled creeps or misogynists for simply existing near women. I used to tell people when they said “how are you” I would respond “can’t complain and if I do nobody cares” as a man and a father all I do is think the world isn’t about me, it’s about my wife and kids, when my wife heard this song she cried and asked if I felt like that and all I could do is nod, she asked why I didn’t speak up? I haven't told anyone this but I almost gave up the night before this past father's day because I didn't want to feel like I usually do every father's day dealing with so many things that dont work how my heart wishes it would so i prayed and told God i was sorry for not being strong enough to continue anymore and out of nowhere at midnight my stepson came out his room wanted to be the first person to tell me happy father's day and hug me and tell me that he loved me for the first time and told me thank you for everything I do for all of them and for being in his life more than his own father is, it turned out to be the reason I could not end my life because of that, so I feel like im in a better place in my head and heart now. Exactly because it has been taking over by pride month. It was men's mental health month first but it is now pride month and men's mental health once again takes a backseat to something else.
Just MY opinion, men feel that the ones that we love have enough going on that they do not need to be burdened with our problems. We are here to protect and lift up, not weigh down the ones we love.
I must say 23yrs ago working 65hr week on my days off I was dead my ex said you don't want to do nothing and then cheated and found a guy who made 6 figure a yr then I meet my true love 22 yrs one night stand we say lol and low pay job then bought a house raised her two boys and I work 45 to 50 hrs sometimes 60hrs and one day she said hey Chris said this song is your song and he was like ya Matt and I was like heard many times and I smiled all true suck it up provide for a family and protect them get the job done for no one will be able to do it for you sometime we just need me time to decompress but still want to be with our loved ones

I am almost 50 so don't really mesh with the youth and not many my age have the hips to such things yet. Lol. I try to just get out in nature and enjoy my time in nature as well. There are alot of groups online that probably do the same things you do. I would advise you to just look up a few and reach out. I was never tought how to express my feelings, so when I’m asked how I feel, I don’t have a clue how to express it, even if I want to. Unfortunately, most of the lyrics in this song is somewhat true. I feel the main reason most men prefer not to speak out about their feelings is because modern society has taught us to be independent by any means necessary and to not enburden others. Most men, along with myself feel as though sharing our personal feelings to others, even close family members and friends, would enburden them. I myself, live on my own in Pennsylvania for this reason. I just found this UA-cam channel, so I don't know you or Wolf, but you mentioned you have a kid with him, so I'm assuming you're married. Correct me if I'm wrong, and I don't want to speak for Wolf, but that could play a factor in his not sharing how he truly feels with you. I cried for the first time in over 2 years when I listened to this song when it came out. It hit so close to home. The line that gets me the most in this piece is "All I want to do is provide". That's so true it hurts. We men are purpose-built to be those providers and protectors. We're hard-wired to want and to need to be useful, to be depended upon, to find a heavy responsibility and carry it. The danger and heartache come when we are either expressly denied the opportunity to do so, go completely and totally unappreciated for it, or outright attacked and demeaned for not doing absolutely everything when we're already trying to give everything of ourselves to do it. So many times, it feels like no matter which way we go, we hit one or more of those three outcomes. We try to express what we're feeling, and we get attacked by a combination of women who don't care to understand and men who either don't understand or choose not understand because of their own pride and vanity. But the important thing to remember is that it's not *always* like that, and there absolutely are people out there who would have nothing but compassion and empathy if only they knew "what it's like to be a man." I have a best friend who I would lay my life down for he just had a child a couple years ago, and his soon to be wife is pregnant again. He's doing well financially as far as I know but recently he's been making suicide jokes, which I've never heard him joke like that before. I know they're half truths. I know that he's mentally struggling with everything on his plate even though he's doing well on the surface. But he's my brother and I will leave anything at the drop of the hat if he needs me. We talked recently and its mostly because of how we are seeing the world going right now. Everyone has gotten so political lately and I fear he has too because I've been there. I was so political following the world around us that my life, inner thoughts, and perception of the world grew SO DARK until I let it go and moved away from it all focusing on myself. I'm trying to get him to do the same before he gets to that point that I did.

I am almost 50 so don't really mesh with the youth and not many my age have the hips to such things yet. Lol. But in truth I am still in recovery and 5 years sober and rebuilding my life from scratch. I still have a little work on me to do but a lot of the time I wonder what the point is

I try to just get out in nature and enjoy my time in nature as well. There are alot of groups online that probably do the same things you do. I would advise you to just look up a few and reach out. I think making the first step would be great brother, you got this!

Unfortunately, most of the lyrics in this song is somewhat true. I feel the main reason most men prefer not to speak out about their feelings is because modern society has taught us to be independent by any means necessary and to not enburden others. Most men, along with myself feel as though sharing our personal feelings to others, even close family members and friends, would enburden them. I myself, live on my own in Pennsylvania for this reason. I just found this UA-cam channel, so I don't know you or Wolf, but you mentioned you have a kid with him, so I'm assuming you're married. Correct me if I'm wrong, and I don't want to speak for Wolf, but that could play a factor in his not sharing how he truly feels with you.
I cried for the first time in over 2 years when I listened to this song when it came out. It hit so close to home. I enjoy listening to Dax's music because he doesn't write about stereotypical things like guns or women in his rap songs. He writes about things he feels are important. The line that gets me the most in this piece is "All I want to do is provide". That's so true it hurts. We men are purpose-built to be those providers and protectors. We're hard-wired to want and to need to be useful, to be depended upon, to find a heavy responsibility and carry it. The danger and heartache come when we are either expressly denied the opportunity to do so, go completely and totally unappreciated for it, or outright attacked and demeaned for not doing absolutely everything when we're already trying to give everything of ourselves to do it. So many times, it feels like no matter which way we go, we hit one or more of those three outcomes. We try to express what we're feeling, and we get attacked by a combination of women who don't care to understand and men who either don't understand or choose not understand because of their own pride and vanity.
But the important thing to remember is that it's not *always* like that, and there absolutely are people out there who would have nothing but compassion and empathy if only they knew "what it's like to be a man." I think it's going to be alright in the end. There is always hope, my brothers.

Men just want to provide and protect. They go through a lot trying to achieve that. We hurt and no one cares, because we’re expected to be strong, and honestly, we want to be. We want to be the unwavering rock, but it comes at a cost-everything does.
one thing most men know but will never let you know, we do not share how we are feeling because it will ALWAYS be used against us as a weapon at a later point and we already have so many weapons against us already. My wife passed away a couple months ago and the only people i let see my raw emotions were my lodge brothers. There was no way in heaven or hell i will ever let most people specially women see that side of me.

I have a best friend who I would lay my life down for he just had a child a couple years ago, and his soon to be wife is pregnant again. He's doing well financially as far as I know but recently he's been making suicide jokes, which I've never heard him joke like that before. I know they're half truths. I know that he's mentally struggling with everything on his plate even though he's doing well on the surface. But he's my brother and I will leave anything at the drop of the hat if he needs me. We talked recently and its mostly because of how we are seeing the world going right now. Everyone has gotten so political lately and I fear he has too because I've been there. I was so political following the world around us that my life, inner thoughts, and perception of the world grew SO DARK until I let it go and moved away from it all focusing on myself. I'm trying to get him to do the same before he gets to that point that I did.

I got divorced at the age of 34, here in South Africa you seem as failer people can always judge because of knowing your pain but im okay iv forgiven the people who killed em and also my ex wife with our kids. I was person drinking alcohol but alcoholic i just wish i can reach out and tell them so my pain but now its was not open enough to people who laugh at me. And i was all by my self the issue was that i lost my mother and 9 family members in just 3 weeks but i was all alone now, and also living far away from my family but had to be a dad in my kids and a husband in my wife.
I ddnt want anyone to know my pain so i chosen to be alone coz i didn't wanna talk about it so alcohol was an option but at first it was me pretending to be a friend on my friends but they didn't see the pain i was in.
