I played this for my husband and then asked him if that was how he felt. He just shrugged and said "Every single day"... and I was shocked. I had no idea he (or any men) felt this way. If this is how we are making them feel, then ladies, we *have* wronged them in a way that will be hard to repair or repay. Thank you, Pastor. Wonderful reaction, as always. 🎶💖🙏🏼🕊🙂
Yes men feel that way as a man we cannot show emotion we have to be the rock I only Trust my male friends , brothers with my feelings why they won’t judge me or look at me as weak women will it’s hard to be a man
What you said means a lot, but don't take it too hard to heart. It is our place. Yeah, showing some appreciation is nice, but what men could use more is just understanding. If they pull up to the house but sit in the car for a while before coming in, or seem occupied or distracted during a family night.. try to brush it off. From my experience, those little stresses are constantly piled up and on our minds. Just as men need to be mindful that their wives have cycles and sometimes deals with pain and discomfort.. leading to irritability.. We just want women to be aware that distance or stress are just a part of what we have. Men have to put on armor and conquer the world to support their family. They need a strong women to have their back at home.
Its not always the womans fault. The way we are raised and made keeps us feeling that way. I have a great wife and still feel like this. Its about us never feeling good enough and nobody can really ever change that.
None of these gentlemen in the video are actors. Those are true men. He did an interview with Steve Knight and talks about his inspiration for the song and who the guys are in the video.
Man, that's awesome......I went thru this at 52, walked away from a high paying job, watched my awesome wife, in disbelief as to what to do, but never understood I almost took my own life. This shit is hard, but it's real. I applaud all these men.
This song makes me cry every time. I have watched so many reactors (mostly men) fighting tears. Even if I could get through the song without tears, watching those men seems to make me hear it from their point of view.
I have watched many reactions as well but there was one that hurt me even more. Don’t remember the channel but it was a couple reacting to it. And the wife sat there at the end of the song and said that she doesn’t know anyone around her like this while her husband sat there that entire song clearly holding it in. I couldn’t comprehend that she had just heard this song and still lacked the empathy and emotional intelligence to look to her right at a man quite clearly going through it. That broke me more than the song did.
My father growing up was hard as nails and would never admit to any sort of weakness. He was cold and seemed unloving but when I think about it the man was out there at all my activities in an attempt to support me and to hep me achieve greatness. I was a widower at 27 I have 3 girls and I try my butt off to show these girls all the true measures of a man. I shed a tear when my I overheard my oldest tell her friend " I can call my dad if youre scared he'll come ready to kick some butt" and shed a tear when she felt safe enough to discuss her female problems. I am a lucky man and am grateful for our Father up above for picking up my slack when I cant.
great reaction james! you know whats really amazing about this video, dax spent 2 months in kansas, where this video was shot looking for people ( in this video) real people with real life problems they are dealing with. simply incredible who else does this? sitting down talking to these people from an outside perspective could have changed their life and gave them the push & hope they needed to believe!
My husband works hard for everything we have….and I don’t thank him near enough. I cried through this song; it brought things into stark perspective. God gave me a wonderful gift in my husband and I thank Him every day, but I need to thank my hard worker just as much ❤
I'm thankful for my grandfather, who embodied what I view as real manhood. He was strong and didn't compromise his principles or his faith but he was always kind and humble. He was a retired minister and was often invited to preach revivals at local Black churches and even served as interim pastor once. That he did that in rural Mississippi in the 60s and 70s amazes me now but at the time, that was just Papaw. I've always taught my son that there is nothing wrong with expressing your emotions. "Son, repressing your emotions doesn't make you tough, it just makes you emotionally repressed." Thankfully, he isn't very susceptible to peer pressure and has his head on fairly straight. He loves Jesus and knows what that means with regards to the world but I still pray every day that He will hold onto him because this world will eat you alive if you're not armored up.
This is how I see it: there is no "toxic masculinity", nor "toxic femininity" - some individuals are toxic. It's not a gender issue, it is a personality issue. We should be lifting each other up, not tearing each other down
As a man that is a cancer survivor I felt that I had to still go out to work and provide for my family, even though I was very sick from chemotherapy and barely able to function, I just wanted to give up on life and be done with being physically in pain as well as mentally, but a voice told me to just hold on and keep fighting, I want to thank god for getting rid of that deadly disease, and my wife sticking by my side through it all
None of those men are actors.💯 This video was shot in the production director's home town of Salinas, Kansas and those men are just average Joes working to provide for their families. The veteran actually is a veteran. Impactful song for sure. I'm 71 and I was taught to be tough and hide my emotions (except anger, that was okay).😢 I have a 34 year old son that is already a better man than I ever was. Unfortunately he told me what he learned from me was what not to do and how not to act. We talk regularly and he still loves me and I've apologized for my mistakes and he's forgiven me, so it's not all bad. This song hits hard but the message needs to be heard. Dax didn't say we should feel this way. I think he just wants women to understand how a lot of us have felt. A peek behind the curtain of masculinity we hide behind. Couples should listen to this and talk about it. I used to crawl in a corner when no one was around and cry like a baby when my life was falling apart or I lost a loved one. I found out crying while someone who loves you holds you is much better. Being sad, overwhelmed, even being scared doesn't mean you're weak.....it means your human.❤️✌️
For women that don't know or understand, the man sitting in his truck crying is what a lot of us do before we come inside to our family, at the end of a work day. Its to help keep the work day from coming home to our families. Its a lot about the feeling of never being good enough or doing enough, knowing that one wrong move and we can loose what we have and the love of our loved ones.
Dax has a special way of telling not just a story, but a life lesson with his words. God has blessed Dax so that he can bless us with this masterpiece. Art at it's purest form is some of the greatest air we can ever breathe.
In church, note the difference between the Mothers Day sermon and the Fathers Day sermon. It is always how much we love and appreciate our women, and Fathers Day is how the men need to step up and do a better job.
Growing up in the country my dad and grandpa always says a man is to do one thing always family first then fix yourself. Family comes first and I still do that today really don't see anything wrong with it. When I met my beautiful wife 18 year's ago she understood and she never and my kids never seen me chead a tear tell my dad past away .
You're right Pastor James!! There is a war on our men! I have 5 brothers, I'm the oldest their only sister and it scares me!! My brothers are very good men!! We lost our baby brother at 42 last November due to his failed marriage. It destroyed him and the pain took him away from us. We tried and fought with him. It just wasn't enough!!
I loved your reaction to this song. Men need a place to vent and feel safe to do so without fear of retribution. We have 2 pastors at my church, 1 male, 1 female. Shalom Pastor J, when I first heard this song, I played it for my spouse and younger daughter. 'Wifey' asked, "Is this how you feel?" My reply was/is "Yes!", and they were like "Wow, I had no idea." ~ 😇We appreciate the calm wisdom that you share in your reactions. 🤜😍🤛
One thing that really tears men apart, is being at our job that we hate to begin with, but doing it for our wife and kids anyway. Then find out that your wife has cheated on you because she was lonely. The only thing you can really say is tell me about it and I tried so hard.
Thanks for reacting to this. this song hit home for me aswell i work my butt off to provide for my wife and Daughter and sometimes its hard to do thank you so much and God Bless you all
So amazing i feel this every day im a single father of two wonderful kids the mother left us over 7 years ago and has nothing to do with us she cheated on me put me down and all i did was work and provide for her i got sick before she left and all she said is that i hope you can still work but i have my kids yes i am sick but i get up every day and walk to work over 45 minutes each way and do everything i can for my kids they are my world she to k everything from us money and all and still till this day puts me down and never once try n help with are kids yeah its hard and hurts but i have god with me and my kids ill work till the day i die which may not be to long but i hope I'm here for another 30 r 40 years more to make sure they are ok my kids are my world thank you dax this is so true and beautiful in all your so amazing
This was such a strong reaction with such heartfelt truth. This truth had me crying. Please "men" we women hear your heart, and your internal pain. Thank you, GOD, for touching Dax to bring this to the forefront of our minds. I hope more men will share their emotions, and their hearts concerns. ❤🙏🏾🕊
so many people simply can't move on, and then make mistakes.Yes mistakes which wouldn't have done that somebody showed just a bit empathy, love or understandings, said word of comfort,,but in fact so many people will finf themselves in this song!!Unfortunatelly!!
Fellas, she will never know! Keep protecting, defending, hunting, farming, creating, providing and build on brothers. The future needs us. PS: This is the curse of Adam and Eve
i keep on sharing this idea ... this song being open verse should become the longest song ever written with the most contributing artists and i think if we crown our king this is where Elvis's should be passed because he demonstrates the example of a true and fair leader each of his subjects gets to lead through the openness of his example.. and it comes to us at a time when we have the least support and have to join together and rise up to bring a change to a world that must pull together or were lost .. and we are at the biggest disadvantage we've ever had .. but this is the time and that's what we have to do.. so we will. what makes this song special it's not just speaking on one element.. relationships, addiction, social pressure, emotional obligation, and the desire to persevere.
I watched another reaction video, with Dax in it and he said their not actors. Their real people that he went and filmed, which I think makes it that much more powerful.
I was blessed to grow up being a “daddy’s girl”, and I have never saw my mom admit she was wrong, not even once. My dad is so strong and loving. I never wanted to be like my mom. I sent this song to my husband and asked him if he felt like this. He assured me that he feels like he has a safe place to express himself. I feel like this is the result of people being quick to get married and quit investing in their spouse. If you are invested, then you are aware when something is happening within them. No person should ever have to feel like this.
These weren't actors. Dax said he picked real men in that state. I cried 😢 😭 like a baby. So powerful 👏🏻 🙌🏻 Great reaction. " embrace you manliness " powerful words.
“They don't know what you're worth 'til the day that you die And that's when they start cryin' Then move on to a man to confide in That's why we feel” I’m that guy in the truck crying and this verse really hits me hard!
@9:17 What you said there reminded me of what I heard from a speaker about his grandmother said after husband passed away.. Something along the lines of ==> "I am so sorry, I was so critical of him "
It's hard to break the cycle I've struggled with some rough issues all I've done is smiled and it's alway just it is what it is dax as a fellow Canadian man im glad to say I met you in newfound land one when you first where breaking out man this song had actually got me to get some help
This song hits home so hard. It is so relatable and my wife tells me not to listen to this song. She doesn't think its true, but she just doesn't know.
My man, in the line, "and then move on to a man to confide in" do you think dax is referring to Jesus as that man? I have been watching a lot of reactions to this great song and haven't heard anyone mention that. For me it works, if its not Jesus and just some other dude, that makes the scenario even harder to hear and digest. Thanks for the awesome reaction video, what a great talking piece this song is, I've been sharing it whenever i can to keep the discussions going! Man i wish that dude in lewiston had heard this song! Who knows? I think this song has the real potential to heal, it takes the loneliness out of the struggle for sure!
found your channel, watched a few videos and your reaction to this one broke me. I teared up the whole time. I've been finding god, grew up agnostic but I've been looking... hopefully I'll find him.
It is all such a shame that the world has become so toxic that EVERYONE feels attacked. Instead of being grateful to God for every little blessing, we are, as a race, despising the one thing that can save us from ourselves and each other, God. We were made to be strong in God, yet we not only accept weakness, we reject strength. Men and women should compliment each other, build each other up. Pray for each other that we have the strength needed for this day, live in this day. Tomorrow is not promised, so love your other half as if they will be gone in a moment. I am female and I hide everything too; tears, pain, depression, but I refuse to hide the fact that in the arms of my husband I am in the safest place on this earth. I am fine with showing joy, but cannot cry in front of others. I did break down in front of him once, clinging and crying. We had been apart for three weeks due to family fighting (not us fighting). When he finally came home I was a total wreck of tears.
Men were given wives for the softer side of men. They have daughters, mothers, sisters. if they stop being controlling a man can say he's tired, he can speak to women and share. This has to have both parents working. They also have babies before they stack money. i know how men are. There is good guys out.
The difference here is that it's OK for you as a woman to break down. It's accepted, it's even somewhat expected. That same acceptance that same understanding is not reciprocal to men.
I would say you are a great man. You were able to do something I was not. I'll leave that at that. As for the song, What does a man become when all he has left to give is moral support? When his body is so broken and used up that there is nothing left? He finds worth in the Lord Jesus Christ and those he can help through his pain and hardship because that's what is asked of him. Even IF he has to do it alone.
The irony of this is after watching this, we still have to move on. Carry on, passing the baton so the next young ones will be able to stand up as a man.
Those are actually aren't actors. In an interview Dax explains that they're literally just random guys he went to. He would knock on warehouses and facilities alike, let them listen to the song and ask them if they'd like to be a part of it.
I'm only a 16 year old boy, so I can't fully understand what men go through until I get older and experience it. But I kinda understand a little since my dad kinda hides his pain. The dude got his heart broken by mom when she cheated on him and everytime he comes home, he stays in the car, using his phone, and when I lay next to him, I can smell a strong scent of alcohol coming from his mouth. But even through his depression he works hard to keep me and siblings fed, and keeps us in school (private school if I may add), and works hard to get our house built. I feel bad that he always has to put his emotions aside to look strong infront us, so there's been times where when I lay next to him, I comfort him, even when he smells like piss in the fish market (bad joke, but it keeps me from being sad). Men really do everything for us and furture generation. I know that now.
You'll get there, little Brother. We're in a dark place right now as men, but darkness doesn't last forever, and it's men that push it back. All the advice I can give you is this: Don't be discouraged. Not by women, not by men, not by songs singing other men's truth. Take the lessons and make a good life. All through these comments and reactions you'll see men telling you they have the good women in their lives, and they're not lying. There are good women out there. I know it's hard to internalise because for a young person your parents are close to the whole world, but your mom is not all women. There will be women you can trust, and men, and people who will hold you up on their shoulders instead of pushing you down. You'll figure it out. You have to, right? That's what it means to be a man.
Dax 🎉😢man dad must not worry you about our service and we will never have to 🎉27 for your information or are not just realised that you hate or something else you want to be been able and ms word will tell me about reading stuff so you don't have before
I feel that the attack on men and masculinity in general is in reaction to 2 things: #1 After years of misogyny and abuse, as well as self loathing and essentially useless for the world except to have babies, cook, clean, be seen not heard, to be pius to a fault-and women through millennia were treated as they weren't really human, that being a woman meant you were already going to hell as well as inherently sinful-centuries a thousand years later, women weren't really those things society accused us of being. In response women lashes out at men for something that happened millinia ago, and after the #METOO movement, society waaayyy overcorrected so much that it became the opposite of what they wanted which was equality for both sexes. #2: women began to make their own money, car, bank account, etc. and decided that they didn't necessarily need a man in situations such as the earlier list. Also, women are more vulnerable physically, emotionally, as well as, psychologically towards men due to the insane amount of violence on women. 94% of men are great guys who would never hurt a woman, however we don't want to be that 6% that do. Because of this, we became to the conclusion that men are possible of severe danger to us, therefore, the man hating aspects soon follow those thoughts and experiences. 😟😞☹️😫😩🤧
Even Adam tried to hide himself... from God. He failed and became shamed and tried to hide... we cannot hide from ourself. The real problem is that we've forgot where our strength comes from... we've forgot that we are NOT alone... unless we seperate ourselves from the Most High.
I am a women and I love men and don’t blame them but I do hope they realize that it’s the men before them who have made this a thing! Men should be able to express emotion and I have never met a woman who said otherwise! I think it’s cause it’s a mans world and men have made how society views things as whole make men feel like they can’t be themselves and show emotions.
Thank you brother!
Much more thanks to you for ministering to Men’s Heart with this one.
The amount of emotion and the way you find the right words to say is amazing brother. Love you and much respect.
Thank you Dax ❤
Dax perfectly explains what does like to be a man sad but it’s true

Facts bro found this comment today. Shit hits hard
Same, I joined the army for my wife so she could get the benefits only to get cheated on and drained financially and emotionally. This song hits deep.
Me too brother. I feel you

Family first, responsibility, making tough decisions, and our feelings are at the bottom of that list, but I accept that role proudly

We need women to teach their daughters that mindset. Men are faced every day with feminists who want rid of us and the non stop bashing.
so many people simply can't move on, and then make mistakes.Yes mistakes which wouldn't have done that somebody showed just a bit empathy, love or understandings, said word of comfort,,but in fact so many people will finf themselves in this song!!Unfortunatelly!!
I said it on another channel. I have cried in front of my wife twice. She has never looked at me the same. Never again
It was a pleasure watching u sir. I am vet and a man. And there is real struggle out there.
Fellas, she will never know! Keep protecting, defending, hunting, farming, creating, providing and build on brothers. The future needs us.
PS: This is the curse of Adam and Eve
i keep on sharing this idea ...
this song being open verse should become the longest song ever written with the most contributing artists
and i think if we crown our king this is where Elvis's should be passed because he demonstrates the example of a true and fair leader each of his subjects gets to lead through the openness of his example..
and it comes to us at a time when we have the least support and have to join together and rise up to bring a change to a world that must pull together or were lost .. and we are at the biggest disadvantage we've ever had .. but this is the time and that's what we have to do.. so we will. what makes this song special it's not just speaking on one element.. relationships, addiction, social pressure, emotional obligation, and the desire to persevere.
3:47 what you said right there is deeper than the song
Glad I had a Christian dad who served his country and came home and worked hard. When I get fed up with my life I remember that Dad could do it.
Awesome breakdown
Appreciate your reaction friend. Thank you
Come back to do the mega mix...it is soooo good ....so much talent it's crazy!!
True ❤ true amen 😢😢
There's a remix for this one. 7 were picked from the challenge. Thanks for your reaction.
I'll check it out
These weren't actors. Dax said he picked real men in that state. I cried 😢 😭 like a baby. So powerful 👏🏻 🙌🏻 Great reaction. " embrace you manliness " powerful words.
“They don't know what you're worth 'til the day that you die
And that's when they start cryin'
Then move on to a man to confide in
That's why we feel”
I’m that guy in the truck crying and this verse really hits me hard!
@9:17
What you said there reminded me of what I heard from a speaker about his grandmother said after husband passed away..
Something along the lines of ==> "I am so sorry, I was so critical of him "
Thanks Pastor😢
We don't bring our weaknesses to women. When women are weak they come to us for strength. When we are weak we must go to God for strength.
From Adam's rib God created Eve. From the beginning of creation, Men have been giving to Women.
It's hard to break the cycle I've struggled with some rough issues all I've done is smiled and it's alway just it is what it is dax as a fellow Canadian man im glad to say I met you in newfound land one when you first where breaking out man this song had actually got me to get some help
#dax
This man speaks the truth I respect him a lot
Dax is probably the best
love that comment pastor you just made " Satan couldn't get to Adam so he used Eve to get to Adam." Love the content.
They are not actors that's why it seemed so genuine because it is
Hey Pastor you outta check out the mega remix
I did ua-cam.com/video/X1RIypp9zIo/v-deo.htmlsi=QWU1r7n3daHzEIGi
I suggest that you watch the extended version of this video.
found your channel, watched a few videos and your reaction to this one broke me. I teared up the whole time. I've been finding god, grew up agnostic but I've been looking... hopefully I'll find him.
Everything's fine, Im Okay, Im Good, No Worries, Oh and Im alright.
translation" AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
love this song, great reaction!
He worked with actual vets and everyone in this video was real workers doing there jobs
You should do the extended remix that Dax released of this song!
I have to say my mother-in-law never moved on and that's kind of woman I look up to
That’s because they’re not actors he grabbed actual regular people for this so you could feel the emotion
I love how you pause the video every 30 seconds 😂
The irony of this is after watching this, we still have to move on. Carry on, passing the baton so the next young ones will be able to stand up as a man.
It hard for men now
Like my father. Lots of good there.
❤
Proverbs 21:9 NIV: Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife.
Who said it best? God did lol
Truth 😊
Actually those men on the video are not actors they are real workers pastor James 😁👍
Those aren't actors. Dax got permission to film them in their real lives.
They are real people with real jobs, not professional actors but they are acting.
Dax 🎉😢man dad must not worry you about our service and we will never have to 🎉27 for your information or are not just realised that you hate or something else you want to be been able and ms word will tell me about reading stuff so you don't have before
in fact they are not all actors and some are real people touched by the song that Dax found when filming the video.
I'd love to see your review of the MEGA remix for this (if you haven't already done it... trust me.. It's worth it!!!)
Im a good wife i ask him 2e been married 42 years andje is my Angel for ever ❤
Sandy
They weren't actors those are just real men doing thier jobs
I am a women and I love men and don’t blame them but I do hope they realize that it’s the men before them who have made this a thing! Men should be able to express emotion and I have never met a woman who said otherwise! I think it’s cause it’s a mans world and men have made how society views things as whole make men feel like they can’t be themselves and show emotions.
My dad told me on his death bed men don't cry
Line Dear mega rimx Alochol
Stephonie Lynn Osborn please listen to this
please watch Dax Gods eyes
✝️🇺🇲❤️🤍💙🇺🇲✝️
1:34 he kind of sounds like Bruce lee
When you stop - especially in the middle of a verse - possibly consider going back 10 seconds? Just saying brother - trying to help.
In my Controversial opinion its the matriarchy not patriarchy´s foutlt men got a tough time thise days. sry my bad english not my first language.
You want to cry don't you
