My Dad had just died, my brother was sueing Me for My house, My wife decided she wanted to change teams and wants a divorce, and with 3 kids stuck in the middle with me.. i just got done working 4 hours on her car and said if thats what you really want then im happy for you.. but i just lost everything and other than my kids i have nothing and no one and for the first time in my life i truely feel lost and alone.. i could really use just a hug so i feel i am still worth something....she made that hmm huh sound walked out of the garage and shut the door behind her.. so when he says.." I just wanted to cry and be given a hug, and be told everything will be ok " I know exactly what he means.. to my soul
I'm so sorry. I'm different than most, I look at things differently. In my opinion she needed to go because what the higher power has in store for you she wouldn't fit into it. Better things are coming. She was there to give you your children...don't hold it in. Write it down, every feeling....maybe you need to write a book about your situation...I'm sending you positive thoughts your way

I was one of those people, I thought that those that I love would be better off without me, but I will admit God save me from those thoughts. Every time I hear the song I just have to weep! Every man in this world needs to hear this song!
I just want to say that I see all of you. I see the struggle men hide behind a smile. I believe in all of you and want you all to know that you are loved. I definitely get that. I have felt this way much of my life, and it's only the fact that I would hurt those around me that has kept me going. Sadly, with recent events, I'm alienated from even my family, so I went through some tough times where I was really close to going through with it. I would still hurt them, but not seeing them is hard. I actually hired a VA so that I have someone depending on me.

I resonated with the verses about feeling suicidal and depression the most. I never had a true support system and was taught to just bury and ignore.
Exactly the same as me (DAN) I was never shown support, empathy, or just how to care for someone until I realised and tried myself. In some ways I still don’t show empathy but that’s how I am. But can completely understand how u feel. Keep ya chin up!

The thing is your intrinsic value comes from being a creation of God. You are fully known and fully loved by a perfect father. Don’t believe women want you to hide. It’s just the opposite actually. We want you to be transparent and vulnerable with us. But strong in the face of hardship. A reliable provider. A protector and a man who brings stability to the home.

I grew up listening that a man has to be a man. Hold is head and chin up high and be the foundations of a family. Then people started to call that "toxic masculinity" and basically demanding for men to "deconstruct" themselves if they want to keep having any value and respect. To learn to show feelings and emotions that we used to hide away.
They say that is the way to find out that we can still be respected even if we let people see us weaker or hurting.
THAT IS NOT TRUE.
Women can keep saying that, but that is not what happens.
Life taught me that regardless of what anybody can say.
If we, has a man, let our women see us weak more than a few times, we start seeing the way they look at us changing, we see the respect fading from their eyes followed by the lost of respect to us has their man. Because even if they want to have our back, they want us to be the shoulder for them to lean on. And when that happens it never goes back... When a woman looses respect towards her man, she will never again see him like she did.
And that I learned from women through out my life...

All a man wants is to provide for the people that we love and when we can't do that it eats us up.
I moved from Florida to new mexico to be with a woman i love but when i got here i couldn't get a full time job anywhere.
I started feeling frustrated and inadequate and turned to drinking to drown out my thoughts.
One night about 2 months ago i got drunk and started an argument and her dad got involved and things turned violent.
I've never been in any trouble with the law, not even a parking ticket and now I'm awaiting trial where i could be facing a year in prison.
I'm homeless now but i have a part time job and stay in a motel when i can.
I sat in the shower for an hour with a blade one night trying to get uo the courage to end it.
I can't help but think that if i hadn't bottled up my feelings and coped with them in a more healthy manner i wouldn't be in this situation.

I've listened to this song so many times and I cry every time. I make a point of it to tell my husband how much we appreciate him and that everything will be ok when he feels stressed and down. He is the most manly man that I know and even he can be vulnerable..it's so important that men know that it doesn't take away from their manhood. We are partners in life and I want to support him as much as he supports me.

I go through those thoughts everyday , trust me it's hard and I've tried a few times to take my own life and that all started at 20 and now I'm 35 but for some reason god keeps me here so I take advantage of that and now I have a goal in life

The second girl is saying what men want to hear, unfortunately, most women never take the time to try and understand or actually see, or show the appreciation, they just expect the man to continue to unconditionally love them.
I love how during the chorus after the 3rd guy sings his verse on the chorus, it's Dax's voice singing the chorus though it's the third soloist still om the screen. It shows me that the sentiment is the same... like the third guy is singing I Dax's voice. That was a nice touch..

I personally have been through many hard times trying to get my son and went through some really dark times in the process. Thinking I wouldn’t be able to be with him. BUT I PUSHED THROUGH!!!!! And now me, my son, my wife(not son’s mom) and new baby girl are living a new life that is amazing. We have had our struggles in life believe me, we haven’t had the best childhood nor had we been raised how children should be raised. That Is why, we can relate so much to this video, we have both suffered depression real bad, (I’m still suffering now) I have 2 kids and married but it’s hard for me everyday. But I try get through it for my family. So please with all that respect in the world, DO NOT assume that we have no clue how they are feeling in this video. They only hit the tip of the iceberg with this song for a few of us. Im done building lives just for someone to take it from me or ghost me while my dad was on his death bed because it made realize that i need to tell her that i have fallen for her just to never hear from her again. Showing vulnerability as a man is a weakness because it will just be used agaist you and depite what the sterotype is most men cant jump from relationship to another like a lot of women do. If i had a nickle for everytime i was told i would never treat you like your ex did and often times their right their worse. My check has been punched im just waiting for my son to become and successful adult. My heart is dead for this world and im done having my heart ripped from me.

my father disshonered me when i was newborned (that was in 88) ever sinces then my 3 brothers raised me (beat me up as mutch as they wanted to) it made me .. hard,cruel and distandt.

I think about it often, already planned it out. Sometimes I stand waiting at the lights, look at the vehicles and think about stepping out. But then I think about that poor driver, think about my mom and child and I suppress it. But it's always there like a thorn in my mind, had depression since an early age. I'm extremely self destructive ruined most of my life, though I'm in the home stretch now. I should not have been born, though I know that's an insult to my mom. Some things are not meant to be, if I could swap with a child dying I would. But that's how it is, don't want to stay but I can't leave. And it's like a battle in your mind constantly, it's not all been bad but I hope reincarnation, is not a thing because I don't want to come back.

I just keep thinking to myself that if I did do anything then I’d be the selfish one, as I’d be gone but my wife & 2 kids would have to live with that, love with me being gone and the way I went from this world. We all suffer differently sometimes it’s easy and other days we are in a dark place with no way out. But u have to remember that we all have someone who will be there for us. Even for a chat. We don’t know each other at all, but they doesn’t mean I wouldn’t help you or anyone out just like I would a close friend. So just remember that u are loved and you would be missed. Trying my best to cope with life, my Godchild committed suicide 6 years ago, after her children were taken away, after years is sickness and living of foodstamps etc. Her action has given her peace, I'm glad for her. But now after all these years I was on the verge of doiing the same, could not do it for the same reasons as you mentioned. And my babygirl doggy Diva jumped on my lap and didn't stop staring at me until I calmed down. She has been put down a month agobso now I'm lost again.... you are not alone, you are loved (even if you don't know me) I want to give you the biggest hug your heart can handle and warm and happy thoughts for your mind. Jesus Christ was the most powerful and capable human that ever touched earthly soil. He didn’t weep in secret. He wept openly, so the whole town would see it. In that moment, he gave permission to every man to feel what you feel. And you don’t have to keep it inside.
Thoughts of suicide aren't always tied to feelings of worth to other people, sometimes, life just isn't worth it objectively. What's the point of existing payday to payday, whilst being shat on at every opportunity, cause you belong to an economic class full of negative stereotypes and work a job you eat shit from people for, because if you show defiance you get fired and your situation only worsens
It's not about if you open to your partner or not, it is about what is she going to do after you do that! Because in my experience it wasn't worth it!
