Introducing the all-new Big Easy, our long-tail electric cargo bike you know and love - now with a redesigned frame, updated tech, more stability, and more possibilities by bike.
I've seen construction workers in Amsterdam casually carrying much larger ladders while riding around on normal bikes. But this looks nice. With one of these they could probably carry the ladder and eat a herring at the same time.
Looks like the creative wildcats at Surly drew on the past! Back in the 50's entire two story homes used to be disconnected, transported on a flat bed truck... and reconnected on another lot. ( no no- these were NOT mobile homes )... wow.... the big easy does make all those functions we see look easy! Bravo SURLY!
Go for a Yuba Mundo EP8 instead. Significantly cheaper, comes with lights, and a whole bunch of accessories available that surly does not have. Also available in a non-electric version, which surly got rid of.
@@quijadriss7650 You can still get the analog BD new for $2500. I have the 1st Gen BD with swoop frame and an E-hub up front. Pricing on these bikes is through the roof.
@@kikinikpics I guess I read several articles about this being the last run. I was just looking for some of them to post. Looks like they were more rumors than matter of fact. I guess that's where the root of my confusion came from.

Compared to what? This is a steel frame bike with top of the line Bosch motor. If you want a cheap e cargo bike there are plenty of other options in the market.
What does this bike offer that Lectric or Rad doesn't? The name on the motor? Bosch is a good motor but I won't pay for a name. People are putting 10,000 miles on Lectric and they are still like new. For $3000-$4000 dollars what would I get that is so much better????
@@family77866different type of drivetrain. Some of it is the name but rad’s motor assist is calculated off of cadence and bosch’s is calculated off of torque, so Rad’s (in my experience) responds worse to hills and when I really need a boost.

@@andarenbici All City is still exists. What are you complaining about? Surly has a large range of bikes. If you don't like an e cargo bike then move on!
Disappointing. Surly used to provide low-cost, practical bicycle frames for the non-poseurs. Now they want to build electric motorcycles and pretend they are actually bicycles.
Calm down - there's an entire line up of non electric bikes. Have you ever carried a heavy load on a bike? Its impractical if you want it for everyday use to not have an electric assist.
Happy to see them giving us another option. Be a competitor to some of the ridiculously low quality priced cargo bikes. The price is better than most of the other big name cargo bikes.
0:49 kids flippin' off car drivers!! HELL YEAH!
Fwiw, flipping off a kei car hipster is safer than flipping off Rogan bros in lifted POS Ram pickups.
@@wecontrolitnow1 Yeah, Not suggested unless you're in turbo mode
😂
Children need to be shown how to respect other people. Surly has lost my support and future business.
Hell yeah Surly keeping it wild and practical. Really shows how much more reliable and fun a cargo bike can be compared to driving a giant metal box
Till it's getting cold and wet.
Dont be a baby i rode every day this winter and it was great, would be effortless on one of these things@@mountaincruiser817
Shout out to the Atlanta cycling community legends in this vid.
Great job surley.. glad to see you on the block competing and making awesome adverts. The price point is also competitive!.
This is such a cool ad and the bike looks amazing, too. Immediate want.
A dropper post on a cargo bike is the combination I never knew I wanted

Sure, but have you seen them tow a truck?
we're using a omnium mini max for groceries and beer as a couple right now.
But hopefully we becoming a family soon and this is what we need !
This might be (not exagerrating) the greatest piece of video marketing I've seen this and last year. Extremely well done.
Wrong truck. Those Nissans are bulletproof
The new Nissan's are so bad it spread retroactively to the old models
Got a 96 Been driving mine for 23 years
Love that you can pass by Home Depot and pick up a few guys for repairs and charge your drill while doing it!! 😂😂
Lmao if I see someone hauling a couple Mexicans on the back of one of these I'll shit myself
Great video!
🤩 Please take all my 💰. (Seriously - own a Straggler - love that bike - this thing is def eye catching)

This is the first time a long tail looks appealing to me. Well done!
is this longtail any different than any other longtail?
Looks great and practical. Is there an option to fit a belt drive and an internally geared hub? Would make this thing a bulletproof commuter.
Love seeing it!

Y'all really understand your demographic
Nice! 👍👍
So tastefully done, loved the video and the bike! 👏
Love it!
Great Bike! Will it be available in Europe (Germany)?
Looks good. The color is nice! Is it coming to EU?
I mean, I have the Midnight Special so I guess I need the Big Easy to tow it
It's cOoL👌🔥🤙 Like 🔥👍
whats a that rear rack on the midnight special?
Nitto R-10 bag support rack! It's mine so I can confirm :)
How about one without a motor and $3,000 cheaper? 😅
So…the big dummy?
Does the bike wobble left and right?
Huh?
@ Surly - does the Kid Corral work on this bike?
Hell yeah

Got a BFD with BBS02, it's a damn shame thems discontinued the BFD, salsa killed the Blackborrow Midtail. QBP is the Activision of the bike industry
is there a non e bike version for those of us without a ton of cash?
Yeah dummy, it's called the Big Dummy
Shot in Atlanta
👏
But can you manual and wheelie it? A mandatory video proof is required!
how about a backflip? William Kass flipped a long cargobike a while ago.
I cant tell if this is a meme or not
The dropper post right?!?
YEEESSS !!!!

I want one of these so badly but good god why is it 6000 dollars like....actually why :(
Didn't they just get rid of the big dummy? Or am I conflating the two?
