The Delphonics, The Chi-lites, The Impressions, The Platters & my favorite, The Stylistics. These are the groups that created Silk, Troop, Hi-Five, The Force MD's, Shai & others. This is REAL Music right here. So happy you're appreciating my music and bringing back memories. Thanks Ashley.
One of my favorite groups. Delfonics, 5 Stairsteps, Dramatics, The Moments, The Ebonys, The Chi-lites.. Great Time for music. We had the Motown Sound, The Philly Sound !! Great !!
Ashley gurrrlll The Delfoniics was my favorite group to play at my famous house party!! Black light, Capricorn glow in the dark poster and I was 16 years old okay?? YESSS! I so appreciate how much you enjoy the music of my day! Brings back so many memories.
Released in 1968. This is considered the first song in that transition from the Motown sound to Philly Soul. It was Thom Bell and William Hart's first big hit and laid the groundwork for their subsequent domination of 1970's soul and r&b.
These 70's singing groups like, the Delfonics, Stylistics, Chi-lites, Dramatics, Tavares, Tierra, Blue Magic etc., was Pantie dropping, and baby making music, a popping, the world over!!! 😂👍
It's funny how she is discovering these guys for the first time. Those of us who are older can appreciate her joy and appreciation. There are many great songs to go. The R&B era is the greatest era of all time for black music. This music and proven and will never die.
I'm a 70's baby so was before my time, but ofcourse when it got played in movies and in my college dorm, i was hooked. Prince covered this and did it justice.
Those steamy 50 cents basement party's sippin on that ice cold boone's farm strawberry hill wine grinding on the wall with that one girl you had your eyes on, back when we danced cheek 2 cheek!! Ahhh the memories!! I lived it!!😎 #StoneColdClassic♨️♨️♨️💯💯
This is a great request! I Love ❤️ this 🎵 song by The Delfonics! “Didn’t I (Blow Your Mind This Time)”, “I”m Sorry”, “Ready or Not Here I Come(Can’t Hide From Love)” and “Funny Feeling” are favorites! 😎👍🏽 Thom Bell produced and arranged a lot of their songs! Their songs have been used in the movie Jackie Brown with Pam Grier and Robert Forster. They are legendary! Thanks for a great reaction Ashley! 😎👏👍🏽🙌💗💗🩵🤎🧡💚💜🩷💟🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Peace! 😎
The name to look for on future songs is Thom Bell. He produced, co-wrote & arranged this & many other masterpieces. Groups like The Stylistics & The Spinners were also his collaborators. So many great songs & you haven't scratched the surface. I was only 10 when this was released & it's still one of my all-time favorites. Seeing that beautiful smile on your face was heart-warming.
That’s exactly how It was…decency , civil, monogamy ….everyone for the most part got along….it was beautiful and what a time to be in the world. Most of the HS sweethearts got married , raised there kids and lived forevermore
Nothing like being at the Dance an this came on an you saw you crush turn someone down to dance to start heading your way to dance with you. IT WAS A AWESOME TIME 😆
Yes the panties were dropping frequently in the '75-'78 High school years. But with Bootsy Collins "Munchies for your love" It starts out slow and easy and as his song rhythm increased so did yours. You just had to hold it together until the climax which was chaotic. Also I am so sorry to hear you have so much going on in your personal life. I noticed you no longer wearing that large diamond ring. You are strong, beautiful with fun charm and sex appeal. Trust God to see you through.
The Delfonics were the blue light in the basement. 💙
Or no lights 🌑😂👍👍
The fact that you can appreciate it now means a lot. Blessings 🩵
LIVED IT AND LOVED IT👌
Such a tremendous song. This is Philly Soul. Loved this in 68 , love it as much now. DIDNT I BLOW YR MIND THIS TIME is equally as good.
Also, The Dramatics, Blue Magic, GQ, Heatwave, Tavares, Tierra! My favorite in the 70's were the Stylistics, too! 😃👍
Also, The Tempations, The Four Tops, Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes, The Spinners and Jackson 5!

Getting married after the dance? Probably not, but a little dashboard light paradise? LOL Definitely! 😂

Girl, I'm 55 and this was my mother's generation! Elderly now, but they were just as young and salacious as the rest of us generations😅🤣
💯💯
Girl, it was the red-light in the basement when this song came on. You came to the party with a perm, but you had a nappy afro when you left.
You should also check out Prince's version of this song. Also very nice. BTW Those do not look like the Delfonics pictured on bottom right of screen.
That's them in their younger years
