      I’m entitled to my opinion. There is nothing wrong with not giving advice & all of her advice was clearly unsolicited. How can she possibly know what advice these people need? there’s a difference between “oh wow… that’s awesome… I’d love to talk to you about it when we’re done filming IF YOU’RE INTERESTED???” Vs “what do YOU do with all that money?! We’re going to have to talk”
      I wish the young woman had responded, “what do YOU do with your money?”

      Also one of the clear lessons this episode provides us is that our assumptions are often wrong. I agree the Artist looked uncomfortable but we don’t know exactly why she possible felt comfortable. Could be social anxiety…could be the fact they were discussing her income… COULD BE she sensed Kenny’s arrogance as I have.

    It's really saddening to see how much artists struggle to make the money they deserve. I've been trying for months to make money off my designs and it's really discouraging when you don't see a lot of traffic on your work while others make so many sales off of rushed designs or copyrighted material. Or when you do see a lot of traffic on your work, it's just a bunch of people favouriting it but not actually buying it.
    *Edit since some people seem to think that I'm a starving artist with no money. Lmao so obviously I have a full time job and have food. My post was referring to my online shops and artists in general (graphic designers, illustrators, fine artists, etc)

      I went to college in 2010 for drawing. I already knew then that traditional art was in danger of being snuffed out. It devastates me so much. The only thing I have spent money on period is art. Original paintings and prints from a brilliant friend and my favorite Etsy artists. All of them end up costing at least $350 with the frames. Some almost $500. I spare no expense when it comes to art and I can’t stand when others steal people’s pieces. Something I hate about this generation is stealing people’s art and tattooing it on themselves in masses. I won’t show my art to anyone except people I am close to. I couldn’t deal with the fine art world, I didn’t want to put myself in a box. I couldn’t stand commissions. I did two and it wasn’t worth the time or money for me to draw someone’s dog, son, or what have you. Same goes with tattooing that I had an offer for. I’d rather do it for myself not for the world and I am damn glad I decided that before we entered this age of thievery. Long nonsensical rant. I haven’t slept in almost two days.

      @Rattlsnke Рік тому +3

      @@MollyHuffle I am very glad you pursued your second passion in business. I was a dual major in psychology and art. I would never give up on getting my degree in art. I both learned so much and it was such a brilliant experience. I ultimately wanted to be a therapist, but it didn’t work out for reasons unrelated to this. I also had a spot in the BFA program, but had to leave school and only got my BA. You truly can succeed in the art world if you go to grad school quite often if you are truly dedicated. Like I already said though, I didn’t want to put myself in that fine art box. I would have loved to do a year more of it at graduate level. I went to a beautiful college, full of beautiful people. I did get great grades and especially succeeded in art. If you are an artist and it is your passion, go to school for it. You won’t regret it. Low work load, high pay, daddy’s money. My initial thought when I saw that number was why the hell would she stay and work at a crappy family diner and not go to college for music? I didn’t stay and work at my family’s restaurant and not go to art school.
      Edit - hilarious, I wrote, “crappy family diner,” and she literally works at her family’s diner. Her family either pays her employees bank or her co-workers are going to be VERY jealous when they see this.
