Proud of you Jonas! Being there and finishing top 3 is amazing considering the injuries you had just a few months ago. A win was never realistic but a true winner doesn't quit and tries his best and that is what you have done!
We are being set up for an incredible TdF next year. Last year, Pog struggled with injuries in the prep. This year, Jonas had the horrific accident. I hope both are in top shape next year, and it is a battle to the end. Remco might have somethign to say as well.

Well, a collapsed lung is bad, but how long does it keep one off their bike, and how long does it to take to get back to full training. A broken wrist is less severe, but maybe the impact on training is worse, right? I don’t know. At the end of the day, compromised training - not severity of the actual injury - meant both were missing the margins necessary for competing. The margins at the top of any sport are marginal, and Tadej was clearly not in good enough shape last year. This year, Jonas wasn’t at his best, right?
Great tour for jonas. Not 100% and still hanging with best riders in world. Pogo is just a different breed with his body type, fast twitch and aerobic capacity combo.
Jonas is still a bad ass. Who knows if he'll ever win another Tour. He has already accomplished so much for his age and time in the sport. He could retire tomorrow and still be a legend. I HOPE that doesn't happen. I HOPE he takes this experience as motivation to win again--as Tadej did after losing the past two Tours--and doubles down on his training and preparation and comes back next year in good health and good form and gives Tadej (and any new up and comers) a run for their money.
Freekin Jonas is a true baller! Now they are even in coming to the tour with an inadequate time to train for the race (albeit it is reasonable to argue that Jonas came from further behind the 8 ball) lets hope they have a battle royale next year.
Jonas is a great sportsman. He is still in the top 3 in TDF when most people would not even be in the Tour given the severity and recency of his accident. All respect to him.

I'm a Pogacar fan but damn do I respect the hell out of Jonas. He has always conducted himself with class and is still competing after an injury that would've kept most normal people down for months.
There was no way he was going to challenge for the GC after the crash he just had. Recovering, rehabbing, and getting back into the necessary shape to not just fight with Tadej, but to gain a podium spot, is… incredible. Jonas should be super proud of himself. He’ll be back next year in the form he hoped to be, and will be fighting for another GC crown.
Jonas and Tadej are extraordinary champions of the sport. Jonas is a bit diminished this year, but for me the guy is still an extraterrestrial. I don't know what kind of metal they're made of, but it's something really different. I've been in awe from the start.

Tadaj rode a great race. However, he lived a charmed life this year considering his crash (if you want to call it that) was inconsequential compared to his rivals wipe out at the Tour of the Basque Country.
Both Jonas and Tadej are on another level. Even in his worst condition and preparation ever, Jonas is still 2nd on GC and basically the only guy that’s consistently gone after every attack Tadej has launched this tdf. Dudes still a weapon

I'm from Slovenia and I'm a big fan of Pogi (and of course from Primož as well), but I have to give recognition to Jonas for a nice and honorable fight at this year's TDF. If it wasn't for Jonas, TDF would be a lot less interesting. I'm all the more happy for him because he managed to prepare so well after a serious injury months ago. I hope that next year we will again see a real fight between him and Tadej on TDF, and that perhaps Primož and Remco will also be a step better - so that then it will be a real fight between the four champions.
Jonas is the real story of this years Tour de France. Most riders train their entire season around this race to try and win just ONE stage of Le Tour. Jonas had 6 weeks prep off the back off horrendous life threatening injuries, so lets put that into context. Not just with what he has done physically so far in this Tour, but the mental resilience to over come what he did to just be here, and then to podium at this years race, Absolutely phenomenal. In my opinion, sometimes the second place finishers can indeed out shone the winner in some ways. Case in point.

I'm Canadian and of course am cheering for Derek Gee. He's in 8th place with 2 stages to go. As a fan I'm so concerned he may have a bad day, fall or become ill and drop out of the top 10 which I think is a good accomplishment. My point is Jonas is in 2nd. If Tadej has any of these things happen then Jonas wins. It's not over till Sunday afternoon.
Jonas is amazingly good shape thinking what happened in Basque. Tadej is obviously better shape than ever before, so it's a bit of undone situation for rivals to beat him.
The most important stage of the tour was 11. A day or two before his long noncompeting recovery from severe injuries predictably and inevitably caught up with him, Jonas at maybe 2/3 his optimum condition was dropped for distance, caught Pogacar, and beat him in a sprint for the win. When both riders are healthy, Jonas drops Tadej left and right and "Pogi", except for one time on stage 11 in Vingegaard's first tour in 2021, has never caught Jonas after being dropped.
I feel remco would have benefited with role clarity at the beginning of his career. From what j remember, he was a one day / classics rider and of course a generational talent who then turned his focus to grand tour gc . I know he is still very young but i do wonder what would have happened if his focussed on grand tour gc from the beginning of his career like tadej!
Maybe he would have been a little less explosive climber but a bit better time trial rider. He’s not even 25 yet though so he still has a long future ahead and he showed some very promising form this TdF
