Revisiting videos. It’s been some time where I’ve gained (and applied) knowledge to my horsemanship. Now, I’m returning to re-watch videos to see if I have new questions now my perspective is more educated. Many Thanks to an incredible Stacy Westfall and the community of awesomeness she has attracted. You are such a huge part of my success.
This is real Awesome! Although I have already trained my horse to a free rein:) I switched to a snaffle bit to free rein! It’s a very awesome feeling, I really recommend y’all to try it out one day!
Thanks! I really love producing the podcast. It is like talking with friends (lots of people email and leave messages like yours that make it seem like two way communication:)
Could you do a video of what bits you us to go from riding in a snaffle to shanked? I’m moving my mare over at 5 for showing and want to do it as softly and kind as possible. Thanks Stacy!! Love your videos!
Thanks for this helpful video. Do you think you would be open to making a video about why and when we would move up into a curb bit from the snaffle. I would love to hear you're opinion on the subject.
I like to use an egg butt snaffle with mecate reins. I try to work within the slack so as to not be pulling on my horse. But it's not really about what you put on your horse's head, it's what you put in it that matters.
Hi: My horse gets quite anxious after having transitioned downward to slower gait. He then anticipates immediately to go faster. How can I help hi, to settle please
I have a podcast, Stacy Westfall Horse Podcast, where I have tons of info. Check out the podcasts on hot horses. Episode 70 and 77 would be good to start with.

Thank you so much for your info and help.
Good
When one rides with finesse and has a good bond with the horse, one does not need leverage from a pain shank bit.
The horse would appreciate you cleaning the bits... that amount of dirt or rust (cannot see in the video quality) will hurt his mouth
Love using long shanks myself
Shanks are not necessary!!!!
My horse and I don't like it !!!

You are welcome to your opinion:)

Yes I know!
Best regards from Germany!
Stop using so hard bits
I think unfortunately you are a bit (excuse the pun) ignorant of the use of bits.
A bit is only as hard as your hands. Stop having hard hands.
