Lovely! 👍 👍. But I personally wouldn't cut them up but treat it as ONE painting. Just mat board it up as is and frame it! Half a dozen of these and you have a very very good exhibition.
Thank you Patt for this great demo. I learned a few things from this, and especially liked the idea of a looking mat! Love how they came out. My fave is middle row far right. ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks again, Pia.
this was a fantastic short video which reminded me of some of the techniques - I've been away a long time from cold wax and oils and needed a quick reminder! thank you!

Wonderful. Thanks for sharing. It’s interesting how in my mind I keep saying stop it’s perfect. You keep going and at every alteration I think now stop but in the end your choices are perfect.
Patt - Thank you so very much . Absolutely beautiful . I so enjoy watching your cold wax paintings evolve , and your explanations are so helpful . Thank you once again . Kind regards - Judi - Australia 🤗😶🌫
Cold wax is a mixture of beeswax, resin, and solvent. It can’t be mixed with acrylic but you can wax ( as a varnish) an acrylic painting with cold wax. After waxing you would not be able to paint over it with acrylic. I think there is a wax you can mix with acrylics though.
Cold wax is a made up of beeswax, solvent and some damar resin. Unlike encaustic wax you don’t fuse it as the addition of solvent evaporates and allows it to dry. It is added to the oil paint in a ratio up to 50%.
Excellent video. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!

You are so welcome Judi! I love sharing my knowledge!
Brilliant, thanks so much for your humble inspiration. ♥️💐
You are so welcome!
Excellent!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
So pretty. Did you put gesso on your paper first Patt?
No -I use Arches oil paper - it is ready to paint on. If you use watercolour paper you need to gesso it so the oil doesn’t absorb through to the back.
Lovely!! I enjoy your tutorials .. thank you..
