Alright, I'm going to admit this... I teared up and I do not tear up to music, but these lyrics hit me in a dark place.
I grew up in an abusive household (my mother was the only one there for me the most she could be) and suffer from ptsd, when I got married, my husband and I moved far from family. It wasn't until they found out I had cancer that my family started to care and change to rekindle a bond.
Now I'm about to have my second child and for the first time in many years, I'm inviting my parents to my home to celebrate.
Right when I began changing my mind, I listened to this song and it gave me courage. Thank you for sharing this with us.

This is what I mean when I say you are different and special. Most girls your age get upset and don't want to be treated like a child, but you ask, you beg to be treated again that way, that loving feeling from your parents. That is just out of this world, so incredibly sweet. Growing up can be interesting and challenging, but you will make it more beautiful and wiser by keeping that sweet little girl inside of you. I totally agree. Connie is in many ways exposed to a lot of people giving her advice, praise critique and even horrible mean comments. For many young people it could affect them in a negative way, causing all the bad things we've seen happen to some child stars who did not get the right support. Not so with Connie. She is so intelligent, grounded and humble, so she can use all her experiences to become a better artist. I have no doubt in my mind, that she will become big worldwide when her time comes. I don't care if she is beautiful or not on the outside. Her soul is beautiful, and every time Connie gets a new fan, the world is affected in a positive way, because of what she brings to people.

I look at lots of different videos and comments on youtube. One thing that strikes me is that almost all commenters on Connies videos are sensible and intelligent people. If just people on the internet in general could raise their standards to this, it would do the world good.

Wow... uhh... After listening I was just sitting here and thinking about my life for about 20 minutes. I can't really stress enough how lucky I am to have the kind of family that I do. Some day things will have to change - my life and the relationships will not be the same as they were, but I guess it doesn't have to be a bad thing, just different. For some reason I haven't been hearing a lot of songs about childhood and growing up, especially the ones that include family, so this kind of hit me hard, because for me family is the most important thing in my life. Thank you, Connie, you've outdone yourself.
