This is a song that I wrote a few months ago and I thought I'd share it with you. Let me know what you think? and I hope you like it. The lyrics are below, if you would like to sing along. lol.

The voice is old and the body young so this means she will be singing peoples blues away for a long long time. I wish I was twenty than I could build up a collection of her great songs for my old age :-) Thank you Ms Talbot for sharing your gift of song with the rest of us.

***** I was once told (a long long time ago) that in speaking, we pick up the different nuances that form the accents. However, in singing, this does not happen. Even many Hispanic and Asian singers sing with much less or no accent. The mechanics of singing, I think the answer was.

This song could probably become really popular. I am addicted to it, it gets stuck in my head easily. Love it.
I love this song. Based on the story that it tells, its hard to believe that it is written by a 14 year old. It is also interesting from a genre perspective. It's not quite jazz, blues, or pop. It's a little of each. I guess that makes it alternative and appealing to a very large audience. Well done Connie. Songs like this will make you very successful.
Musically it reminds me of "Back to Black".

Seriously, if Connie can write and perform songs like this at age 14, I can't wait to see what she will produce over the next few years. We are privileged to witness a superstar in the making.
Connie already knows that her fans absolutely adore her, they adore her voice, her beautiful appearance, her beautiful personality and not least her wonderfully mature songwriting. But I am also falling for that Black Ciountry accent which is so endearing. There isn't a better popular singer or songwriter in the UK it's as simple as that.
I Love the star ,she as a child made my heart feel joy and thru the years she has calmed my soul and many others. I have shown everyone i know the amazing voice and as a young women she is an inspiration to many,,great job Connie stay true to you and your music will stand the test of time ..

What I love most about these lyrics is that the statement is so clear.
I mean, Connie singing about stupid alibies and calling someone a liar.
It's actually nice to experience her angry side in her lyrics.
She needs all the emotions to become a complete artist I think.
Much different to Connies other songs.
Stylistically this sounds a whole lot like Adele! I think Connie is well on her way to becoming a worldwide superstar racking up Grammy after Grammy! She's already got more natural talent than just about any other singer out there, in a few years she'll be unstoppable!

Followed you for years always knowing your talent and hard work would make you one of the best artists.
I shared your talent with lots of people and most acknowledged it.
But some of them didn't think you would grow up to be a star and that you just had lot of followers because of BGT and cuteness factor.

You skills in songwriting and piano are now almost on level with your voice now.

The predecessor of Lost Love. Both are very well written. Vocals and instrumentals are top notch in both as well.
This is a very saucy, soulful, and catchy song. It's been stuck in my head all day. They call that an "ear worm" in the states. Such a leap of musical development since "Beautiful World." "Nobody's Fool" could be a hit on the radio right now!! Hard work pays off!!

I would love to see this song recorded in a studio with the appropriate musical backing (a jazzy style sound) and then released as a single. I think it would be a great hit.
Have always liked this little girl (how could you not?) but have thought her voice lacked passion. She's always sung covers and was just singing words. With this one, and others she's written, you feel the emotion and passion of the words, it's more from the heart. You go girl....what a little sweetie.
This is called a torch song....and a very good one. This is the first song I ever heard Connie do, and afterwards I researched where she started and have followed her ever since.
Conn, this is THOROUGHLY impressive. The quality of the song unbelievable for a new songwriter. I find the bluesy progress with the additional somewhat unexpected variations in places to be really engaging.
And your lyrics! Not only are they good, but the structure is so sophisticated in meter. The theme is also a good and very fresh take on a common situation. I cannot imagine how good your songs will be in a year.
Your singing and playing were perfect. You will probably become more accomplished beyond even these levels within two years. Again I cannot imagine how good you will be. I just look forward in very fond anticipation of more jaw-dropping excellence!
Connie, since you were very young you have had wonderful control, very smooth vocals ... Now you have developed yourself as a musician and you are writing music. Singers/songwriters who are musicians are a rare breed ... I think you are fourteen, today ... I have been following you for quite a while and am interested to listen and observe you as you continue to develop. One would hope so unfortnately when it comes to celebrities there is a very poor track record with them making the right life choices. Once they reach ther late teens they become involved with late night parties, drugs and end up dead or blow through their earnings and end up broke If Connie makes the right choices fine, but if not it's her parents that have to put her on track again.
***** I disagree. Parents who attempt to control their kids do harm in my experience. Sometimes, it is just resentment and other times it is full blown defiance!
People are people. Those at a youthful age or lack of experience, often times are a blessing as deep-seated resignation and cynicism doesn't filter how the world occurs.
Adults have no clue of the world that young people are observing as they mature. It is completely different than the one I grew up in. In twenty years or so the world will begin to catch on and young teens will have a voice in the world.
If you listen to the political rhetoric, it sounds like elementary playground posturing. Young teens can see this and should question why they have no rights ... [stepping off my soapbox]

I'm italian. I love English. I love Connie. It's amazing how she feels the music. She's magic and not just because of her lovely voice that's makes me crazy but because her passion is so much strong that is visible and touchable looking her eyes and her expression when she sings. ***** Yes, I keep wondering when some big record label will notice Connie. She is definitely ready, this was great. Its interesting, there are three young girls, all within one year of each other, Connie, Jackie Evancho, and Anna Graceman, who are all doing really great work. Of the 3 only Jackie is getting big record deals and concert tours at the moment, but all 3 are great talents.

I mentioned Jasmine Thompson has she has been hugely popular on You Tube, and of course has now been signed by Atlantic Records. Personally I would rather listen to Connie but felt Jasmine deserved a mention. Jasmine is about 8 days older than Connie.

stone heart I believe that is true also. Most of them over use auto tune. But I what I was trying to get at is that they sing songs they are not connected to. No emotion. There are few singers here that can sing with their soul. If you know what I mean.

Great song from a true talent. The "so called" pop stars of today should take note of this and write their own lyrics and compose their own music, then accept an award that was actually earned. Connie is amazing and I know soon she will be mainstream USA.

Luvvin this tune Connie :) has such a cool laid back and a chill out summer feel like the jazzy/bluesy swing if this was a track id put a far back echo trumpet and a light orchestral strings and a nice soft jazz bass/rhythm makes me think of walking in a summer rain from a relationship going sour, the rain soothing my troubles (make a great vid) you are truly an Amazingly Beautiful and talented young lady all the best

Yeah...I hate radio versions...they almost always stink compared to live versions, especially on Christian "worship" songs. I only listen to Christian music generally, but even on that I am very picky as there is a lot of garbage. I stumbled across her and can't stop listening to her. She is amazing and the voice is so full of LIFE even in "worldly" songs...now I am a little leery of getting her album (not that I won't)..thanks for the heads up.
Sandy Milks Get the CD, it is awesome, I just like this acoustic version of this song better than the produced version that is on the CD. Connie's original music on this CD is VERY good! Buy the I-tunes CD, it includes "PS" an extra song that is not on the CD.
