So once you've bought your new mask you must ensure that it is a good fit before using the mask in any form of water and before any treatments to the lenses are applied. Once the mask has been used in water or if the lenses have been cleaned with a mask scrub solution or toothpaste (to help prevent fogging) we are unable to accept it back for a refund or exchange.
This video will simply explain and show you how to get check that your mask has an air-tight (therefore water-tight) fit.

Absolute myth that method.... I can categorically tell you that pretty much every single mask made will pass this test. Why would I know this? I've been rebreather diving for 21 years and diving for over 40. My advice? Don't suck in at all but instead gently place the mask against your face and feel whether the whole mask edge/seal touches you evenly all the way round.

Isit true you need to insert the regulator/snorkel to your mouth for a more accurate sniff test?

Please explain what you mean by breath in through your nose? If I keep the suction on my nose breathing in it will stay on my face. any Mask will even when I bend over!!! But when I stop the inhaling in pressure vacuum through my nose all masks just fall off as soon as breath in through my mouth. I tried this on my perfect non leaking mask which I have used for 2 years. And it fell off!!! Also, if I just stand up and stop the vacuum inhaling through my nose, some of the masks stay on, even though there is not much pressure forcing in on to my face. It stays on my face as the sealing rims seem to stick it to my face enough to hold it there, but I know it is not sealed as I can breath in and out gently through my nose!!! So air can get in and out... This test does not work. Please explain in more detail what does?

Somebody, please answer this person's question! Same thing happens to me. Should we try a "Youth" size mask?

+yvine carino, you're only inhaling enough to hold the mask to your face. You won't be able to breathe in completely if you have a mask that fits properly.
If you sniff and the mask sticks to your face even when you smile you have a perfect fit.
    Safe Diving,

I am a 10 year old divers so there is only a few masks that fit me and they sold me one that did the nose trick but when I tried it out in the pool when we got home in case we need to exchange it ( we did) and I couldn’t equalize because the whole reason we got me a new mask was because I couldn’t equalize with the one I did my certification with so we exchanged the for the tusa paragon and that fit perfectly

Brought myself to buy a more expensive mask. The mask sucks to my face like a facehugger without any need to suck in air
