i got this as a hand-me-down as a kid!! i’m pretty sure the carriage has a rectangular hole that fits around the little flat peg at the front of the castle steps. also i never had the swan, so i pretended that when polly was in a bad mood she would jump in the pond to go pout (?)
I've had this polly pocket as a hand-me-down from an aunt, and I loved it when I was little. Mine didn't glow up, but I kinda knew it was supposed to and that the battery compartment was under the yellow bench. But for the life of me, I just couldn't find out how to open it! 😆 well after watching this video I was finally able to open it, put in the batteries, and it lit up beautifully! (I also didn't have the swan, the knight, or polly, but I do have the adorable little horse and carriage.)
My best friend had this one and we played with it so much. I think she got it from a yard sale so it didn't come with any of the pieces but we still loved it so much.
I instantly started crying when you opened it up with the lights. I also had this one when I was a kid that I got from a thrift store (most of my Polly pockets were either from thrift stores or yard sales). This was my absolute favorite set! It’s so beautiful & it really mesmerized me as a kid. It still mesmerizes me now!
I loved my polly pockets but I was born in 91 so I'm hoping you have some from later in the 90s and maybe I'll see one that I had growing up! Subscribed!
Omg. This is exactly the same one I had as a kid! It's crazy because I DON'T remember what mine looked like but I KNOW that this is the model that I had!
Why do I not remember this lighting up.....? And I also don't remember some parts of it.... like I remember the castle doors and parts of the inside but I don't remember it lighting up and I don't remember parts of the bottom of the compact.... I'm like so confused why I don't remember it. I definitely had the polly and the prince and I pretty sure I had the swan and horse and carriage..... I just don't remember the gazebo or the lights.... I'm starting to remember the trap door tho.
There's a white peg sticking up behind the battery compartment that is pushed down when the compact is closed, turning off the lights. When the compact is open the peg comes back up and the lights turn on. It works like a fridge door.

This was my first set as a little tiny 6 year old. I still remember that day, I also met Santa that day, and he gave me that lol.
