No one will call you and ask you to verify details for a security check and your bank will never ask you to transfer money to another account.
Most of the time it's when a person with an Indian accent calls. However don't give any personal details out over the phone to anyone. If someone says they are calling from your bank ask them why they are calling and then hang up. Then call your bank on a different phone line or better still pop into a branch of your bank to find out if they really called you.
Nigerian or Asian accent is a pretty reliable indication
I can hardly believe that 'Line of Duty' actor playing Kirk Wiley is almost 60.
I did twice but fortunately my bank knew my ins and out and stopped all transactions to fraudsters.
As I watched it, I was exclaiming “no June, what are you doing? Don’t do it!”
Only dumb people give their details over the phone to a complete stranger.
Why doesn't it show what REALLY happens? 9 times out of 10 it's a New Delhi call centre with a heavily accented Indian calling himself Peter or David or whatever.
And they all have English names.
They can't show reality, it's rac|$t.

First error Channel 5, 99% of these scammers are from Asia and Nigeria.
Very few in the UK.
