Red Squirrel Hunting {CATCH CLEAN & COOK} Easiest Way To Skin A Red Squirrel

  • I have always loved squirrel hunting but most people consider a red squirrel to be a pest or nuiscense animal. I however see them for what they are...FOOD!. I enjoy going out hunting red squirrels and cooking them because honestly their meat tastes the same as any other suirrel I hunt. In this video I show you how to skin one that is by far the easiest way to skin them and also one way to cook them. If you've been squirrel hunting before and have ate them then you'll enjoy a "Pest" red squirrel just the same. I hope you enjoy!

    Great video, man. I've never tried red squirrel, but gray and fox squirrels are some of my favorite things to eat. Keep up the good work--the videos are always really good, especially for such a small channel.

      I appreciate the kind words, I do try my best. Red squirrel tastes exactly like any fox, black or gray squirrel in the same area. They’re good eating just a bit smaller. Thanks for watching!

    Thank you for actually posting the process, most skip the most important part to me. shows the kill then boom its all prepped and going in a pot. lol I'm a first timer, but I'm going to try this method out as it seems pretty straightforward.

    Another great video man, that tactacam gets some sweet footage!

    • @TheHuntForDinner
      @TheHuntForDinner  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks! Yeah the Tactacam works pretty good if it’s set up properly. Only downfall is to get the crosshairs in focus they are a bit blurry to the shooter but not too bad. I’m sure some scopes might not have that issue but I’m not buying a bunch to find out lol

      @@TheHuntForDinner Sweet, I've been thinkin' about gettin a tactacam and now that I have a good .22lr with this ruger 10/22 it might be good to stick it on there for some small game footage. So you'd say it's worth the $ then for it eh?

    • @TheHuntForDinner
      @TheHuntForDinner  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah they’re worth it IMO. There’s a lot of videos online of them. I’d watch a few and see what you think but I’d buy another one.

    Squirrel season is coming up quick. Can’t wait to get out! We do over night canoe trips twice a year and everyone brings a little something different to eat. I brought 3 squirrels last time. Surprisingly not many of the guys have tried squirrel meat before. Great video. Just subbed. PA

      I actually thought about this but the only problem is we can’t legally trap fish here. If I ever did it I wouldn’t be able to make a video of it lol. Possibly for my crayfish traps next year though for sure. Thanks for watching!

    The difference between a red and a grey is a bit different in the city/suburbs. The greys are too big and fat to be much of a nuisance. The reds get into everything and are very aggressive.
