My respects to you for braving to leave the comfort of the UK and live in Shanghai to teach English. I hope your effort brings life changing rewards to the students you teach and bridge the divide of 2 very different cultures. All the best and hope to receive more videos of your journey.
Life in Shanghai is probably way more comfortable and convenient than some places in the UK. I think she's lucky for that chance. Maybe you meant leaving the comfort of being around her family and friends? That'd make more sense!
Leave the comfort of UK???????? What??????????? Shanghai is modern and developed. Want to see what Shanghai looks like? Here, knock yourself out. ua-cam.com/video/hCNojLTRv2E/v-deo.html
I was an expat. Priced out can’t afford to take me kid to the private school at 60k a year, and he was 5 at the time. Best time ever it’s past present and future changing all the time unlike here everything standing still. We have 800 plus hate groups, guns in school to deal with, and a culture of fixing pothole taking 2 weeks then rework the hole because the 1st time it became a speed bump. We need to get our act together.
Thanks to the author of the channel for this fascinating video! It is interesting to see how people live in other countries! It is very important to know foreign languages on such trips. I would like to recommend to all travelers a practical guide to learning foreign languages by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages". This book contains a lot of useful tips on how to learn a foreign language for tourists, students, entrepreneurs and anyone who needs a foreign language in life. There are a lot of good tips on how to solve problems with the language from beginner to advanced level of language learning. It turns out that the traveler only needs to know a few dialogues and you can easily travel around the world! You don't have to spend a lot of time to fully learn a foreign language, you just need to learn what you can use when you travel. I wish everyone exciting travels!
Thanks for sharing, don't want to be intrusive but I can't help my curiosity wondering roughly in what range a foreign teacher's salary would be and can it afford the expensive living in Shanghai. Good luck and enjoy your time in Shanghai.

As if Shanghai is a lesser developed city than a city in UK. LOL.
Seriously? I feel you are just so out of touch with reality LOL
