You could probably tap into the control panel of the appliance to get the timer and the state of the self-clean cycle red LED and send all that to Home Assistant. You could get custom alerts to take the laundry out depending on where you are in the house and a reminder to do the self-clean cycle if you haven't launched it by 10 PM.
Yes. If you wrap the white wire too (clamping around the power cord of the washer/dryer). The AC waves cancel each other out and you won't get any sensor voltage.
This was really good. I had never heard the term "flip the laundry" before though, efficient term.
Well you’re not the first person to bring this to my attention. Guess I’ll change the thumbnail text. ;)
Thanks for watching

Welcome aboard!
Why not just update the firmware in the unit to give an extra alarm? You could even solder a WIFI adapter so it sends notifications to your phone.
Surely there is a buzzer signal in the washer that you could have hijacked?
I couldn’t justify modifying our new washer and dryer.
@@SparksandCode yeah makes sense, beautiful workaround then!
Is it necessary to put the split core transformer around ONLY the hot wire?

Hi, which current sensor (there are a variety with different spec's) and do you have a wiring diagram / circuit?)
Also, are you able to share the code and 3d model? Thanks in advance.
Links to the parts are in the description.
Yeah I’ll squash all my WIP commits and put them on GitHub with the model later today.
Github address?? @@SparksandCode
Your solution was really brilliant, but it would be easily solved with a smart washing machine and a smart dryer from Samsung or another brand
