I'm trying to create the animation and select the transforms from my doors, but even with keyframe recording mode on it doesn't stay in the animation, it switches out.
I turned the door into a prefab and duplicated them around but suddenly they don't work anymore. I found out that it's something with the send custom event node it's not sending it to the door anymore even thought both the variables are correct
Having a problem right now with my world I imported the SDK 3 in a SDK 2 world I wanted to "update" it so I can use UDON now I am always getting the same errors when I try to set up a Scene Descriptor it tells me that there can't be multiple ones even though I only have one VRCWorld with a Scene Descriptor and if I remove it it tells me I need a Scene Descriptor 😅 Help would be appreciated a lot and thanks for your great videos!
Nice video! Thanks for the update! Can you run 2 Udon scripts on the same thing? Say you wanted to animate the button to turn green when it was open and then turn red when the door was closed. Can you put both of those scripts on the same button?

I'd say so. using the system in this video plus his synced tutorial does not line up at all. been trying to figure it out for a bit now and I've nowhere except a broken door.
Jesus christ Unitys animation system is janky as shit... Cant be this fucking hard to translate multiple objects around within the same animator.. Oh and to everyone coming to see this later on, this video is now outdated as of Unity 2019.4.3. Cant record child objects of a parent with an animator anymore, you need animators on each animatable object, jfc

this is 10x more complicated than sdk2, They really should make creating basic things like switches and doors more streamlined...

When you do the Event Toggle Buttons, How you make it Global for everyone to see? Cause what this does is more Local...
On the button graph instead of adding a SendCustomEvent make it a SendCustomNetworkEvent

No longer works for the latest 2022 SDK for VRC.
setting the string to be public did not make it pop up on the inspector for me
If it didn't appear right away, try hitting "Compile" on the top right and see if it appears!
@@VowganVR it fixed eventually by me just fidgeting with reload and swapping the selected objects

1:51 you need to turn off the loop time if you dont want it to loop.
would it be possible to make it so 1 button opens the door and 1 closes it?

You can still record animations and keyframes for objects that are children of the animator, otherwise character armatures would be nearly impossible.
