Looks like you didn't get caught in rain on your entire trip, so that was lucky in that it allowed you to walk everywhere and do things. Very nice video with easy to listen to narration and music that wasn't annoying. I am so looking forward to my next trip to Japan. I have stayed in Takayama and Shirakawa Go too, and I felt like the ryokan in Takayama and minshuku in Shirakawa Go were the same ones I stayed at! Just a reminder for those planning to visit, it's considered bad manners to eat and walk, so just stand in one spot to eat if you want to eat it right away. Also everyone should know not only to "rinse" before entering the onsen water, but also wash well before you rinse. Applies to sento baths as well.
We actually did in Kanazawa and Shirakawago but glad it stopped and we were able to walk. Thanks for sharing your travel tips and glad you liked the video. Kanpai!
That was a pretty packed itinerary- but I am impressed. Galing! Hats off to you and your planning. For first timers you’ve covered a lot of the places that are on some of most people’s bucket list.

Wow! What an amazing “7 days in Japan “ vlog. This is exactly what I been looking into doing with my wife and kids for our 2nd trip to Japan. Specifically staying in a Ryokan and experiencing the hot springs. I will definitely be following your itinerary. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing the great journey to Japan, 7 days itenerary is really inspiring to have second trip there, since i never been in some great places that you share here, well done
This is such a great video! One of the best itinerary videos out there and so helpful as we plan our own trip to Japan! Love that your guys took a different route-thanks so much for sharing.
Thank you! Shinkansens (bullet train) have overhead space for carryons. you can reserve the seats at the back of the train for larger luggages. For buses, they have storage on the sides.
I am part Japanese and I used to live in Kyoto. This is my favorite Japanese travel vlog I’ve ever seen! Partly because it was so food oriented lol. I miss ekiben! Great job👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
What a great video. Your trip and most of the places you visited I will also be seeing later this year. So this has been a real insight to what I can expect when I get there. This is best video on travel to Japan. Can you please make other videos just like this on other places too? Really enjoyed this so much that we watched it three times. Can you do one on South Korea and Italy? - Just anywhere. Thank you!!!!

Your narratives and descriptions are excellent!
WOW... you guys did this in 7 days. love all the stay and different places you stayed at. Thank you for sharing. Hope to cross path with you guys on our journey some day. One last thing, what time of year was this? Look like the fall time frame.
Thank you for this very informative vlog. I am planning a trip this summer for my family. I was wondering what other transportation pass was used beside the Hokuriku Arch Pass for this trip? Bus pass? Again thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Aside from the Hokuriku Arch Pass, we purchased train and bus tickets not covered by the JR pass. Those are cheap and can be purchased with cash or tapping a Suica reloadable card
Wow! I've been to Japan 4 times, but now I really want to try this route. Great job for your first trip to Japan, I'm impressed. Did you book most of your itinerary before you got there? I've always wanted to stay at a Ryokan, and hopefully I'll get a chance on my next trip.
Wow which area in Japan is your favorite?..Do it! Less road traveled but packed with fun, memorable experiences. We booked our trips prior to arrival and definitely stay at least in one ryokan for experience.
It depends on what time you’re boarding. Some requires reservation. You can check the Nohi Bus website on my description. we didn’t reserve ours on this trip.
Wow this actually super well made and one of the best 'X days in Japan videos' yet; got a sub outta me! My only question is for travelling on the train, bringing checked luggage seems difficult, especially on a bus! Did you guys have any issues?
Thank you so much for watching and sub! I'm glad you love the video. Bringing checked luggage is doable just remember in bullet trains, you have to reserve the back part of the seats to store luggage. For longer route buses, they have storage on the bottom side. Train stations can also store it if you're doing a day trip like we did in Kanazawa. Hope this helps!
Very idea-inducing, your video. I'll certainly take guidance as I make my own plans. Couple of questions - 1. Which week / month of the year was this? 2. I noticed you're often without your luggage as you explore the city, while not having checked into a hotel yet. Where did you store your luggage? 3. Where did you book your Ryokans, especially the one at Shirakawa-go? 4. I was checking out some options for Keisaki dinners, but in Tokyo / Osaka they are super expensive (maybe only the expensive ones are advertised). How did you find the ones you did? May I also add, both of you look chic and dapper in the video.
Have you used any travel agency? If so, do you have any recommendations? We are looking to go but don’t speak the language. And would like to have a guide with us for the trip.
wonderfull vlog would you kindly tell how much it costs in us dollars I'm planning on a trip to japan for a month and want to know how much it is estimated for 2 travelers . thank you
Hi. I've put the links to accommodations and experiences in the description so you'll have an idea for budgeting. Airfare depends on which airport you're flying from. For daily expenses, our average expense was around $70-80/person/day. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for coming to Japan. Next time, please come to Niigata for sushi🍣 Niigata is a paradise of rice and seafood,so Sushi is so delicious✨Please come again!
Yes, the JR Hokuriku Arch Pass (link in description). You can hop on non-reserved seats in the shinkansen/bullet train. For reserved seating, you can book in advance for free w/ your JR Pass at any JR booths in the train stations (which we mostly did). Hope this helps!

Hi love this video as I will have trip to japan next week and purchased jr hokuriku arch pass . May I ask if JR Hida is covered by jr hokuriku arch pass? Thank you 🫶🏻🙏
Yes,it’s a fast-paced itinerary if you wanna experience Japan in a short amount of time. But definitely spend at least few days in each stop if you have time. 😊

Hi!, It was a nice vlog It’s like im watching a movie ❤ may I ask if this Hokuriku arch pass still can be used going back to Tokyo or it ends at the Osaka? thanks ! Im a new subscriber 😊
Per Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, at the time of our travel, masks are not required outdoors and you do not need to wear a mask indoors when you are approximately 2 meters apart from others and when you are not talking. We briefly remove our masks and put it back when filming indoors and of course when eating. We also learned that pre-COVID, Japanese are already wearing masks during winter so I understand your concern if you see other people, especially non-locals not wearing masks. Thanks for watching!
Planning to travel for 5 days using the Hokuriku Arch Pass. Narita airport > Kyoto > Kanazawa >Tokyo > Narita airport. Is this pass worth it for these destinations or should I purchase individual tickets?
I am planning to visit Japan next year for 2 weeks, more than one person told me spend several days exploring Tokyo, forget Osaka and then head to the countryside. Any objections? 14 days, 3 to 3.5 of them probably on the airplane (arriving and leaving, around 18-20 hours flight) leaves 10-11 days of good travel, I wonder if he might be right.
There are so many "7-days-in-Japan" videos on UA-cam, but yours is the best I have seen by far.
Thank you! A lot of work (and eating) were put into it so we're glad to hear it.

Mama… papa

Hello,I appreciate your vlog.Me and My husband is already planning to visit Japan next year. How much is your estimated budget for this trip?
Planning to travel for 5 days using the Hokuriku Arch Pass. Narita airport > Kyoto > Kanazawa >Tokyo > Narita airport. Is this pass worth it for these destinations or should I purchase individual tickets?
What dates specifically did this trip cover
I am planning to visit Japan next year for 2 weeks, more than one person told me spend several days exploring Tokyo, forget Osaka and then head to the countryside. Any objections? 14 days, 3 to 3.5 of them probably on the airplane (arriving and leaving, around 18-20 hours flight) leaves 10-11 days of good travel, I wonder if he might be right.
