- This was a spontaneous narrative on my frustration with everything... the homing pigeon's dismembered leg was pure serendipity. I called the number on the leg ring, the owner said he thought the pigeons from his homing group had been attacked, dive bombed by a Peregrine Falcon. sad
The only shops that seem to spring up in every town is kebab shops and Turkish barber shops
Every small town in the UK is the same my town greenock has turned into a right hole and rundown
So sad ,they should invest in the local trade & create a bright & beautiful environment.
I know it's probably too late now, but don't buy things online. Don't go to big supermarkets. Use your local high street shops.
My mates on universal credit. It's a catch 22. He can't work more hours or his universal credit is cut but its the universal credit that helps with the rent cause he went through a nasty divorce and custody battle. So how can he really move forward. It's a depressing sight across the UK
I am from Hertfordshire I wanted to go to Berwick on tweed as tourist but looking at ridiculous high cost of trains, hotel, so on and cab fees £45 around the town it is a no go it ridiculous. Cheaper to go abroad.
Went a few years ago; retail closed down, full of charity shops, bookmakers and young unemployed men walking the streets pushing baby buggies - a distopian atmosphere at best !
Yup. Dystopian is a fair summary
My tiny 1 bedroom flat is £1,100 rent per month in Hertfordshire and I have cancer, it ridiculous. Council trying charge me £1800 on council tax a year.
Awful. Sorry to hear that.
If you think Berwick is broken you want to explore some towns down South. Its better to have charity shops than empty shops. You want a quaint little town but then moan the large chain shops have closed? I visited last month and did not think it was run down. You do not want a busy shopping centre. Queuing for every purchase and nowhere to park. Dirt, noise, vandalism.... Having a well paid job isnt luck! I would rather live there than here, different pace of life. I am in London and we get Peregrines killing our pigeons too! I hear you and liked the video and thought I would give my thoughts on your comments. :)
Flip me, you’re a pint half empty kind of guy aren’t you 🤷🏻♂️😂

was thinking the same thing, waste of a video...
I grew up there it's a ghost town now and it used to be such a very busy place breaks my heart I would move back but there's nothing it's a disgrace how a government let's small towns die
Back in the 70s at the bottom I think in the tower was a beautiful cafe. It was always packed and I think it was on at least 2 floors.
Still a cafe there
Shops are closing cause high rent and all the shops moving to the new retail park away from the main street and that pub the brewers Arms is opened again
Yes. I went up to see Home Bargains a couple of days later and the car park was close to full and there was a small traffic jam at the new roundabout. Berwick's town planning has been a mess for decades. Bad communications poor thinking no strategic overview always looking inward loads of infighting
@@shadowofmyfutureself you went up to see home bargains? have you really nothing better to do with your day ?
@@jackcharlie9322 What do you do with your day Tiger?
I'm guessing that the new shopping centre at the top of the town isn't doing the high street any favours , shame because it really is a nice town
First came down to berwick early 80s a gang of us on motorbikes drank in the rum puncheon. then started going back in the late 90s up to the present day love the place shops like everywhere else is a dwindling thing now but its a cracking place for walking
Mate, you were too far up the street. That was never sports direct!
What a whinger.
I was in Berwick a couple of years ago. I went back to visit because it held good memories for me from when I was a teenager (three decades earlier). It was so depressing how dingy the town had become. A lot of dodgy-looking characters hanging about in groups as well (some local hotels obviously being utilised by the Home Office, like everywhere else now). It was a shame. At least down by the water was still nice with the bridges.
It's REALLY depressing
Berwickshire Scotland 🏴 not Northumberland
@@YanksandBritsProductions it's in England and the only english town that you can get to traveling north from a part of Scotland.
Berwick-upon-Tweed is England. Berwickshire is in Scotland
Very sad to hear this im Scottish thought the town has definite potential ,spent one week there just post covid.
Really enjoyed the break
Need a progressive council decent entrepreneurs working together
Hope things improve !
Similar issues shops in places like Arbroath Montrose
yawn
Sorry it's Northumberland I lived in the place for 32 years I think it a place of its own
