2023 RECAP
2023 was a BIG year for Rolex. The beloved Milgauss and Cellini were discontinued (for good?), and Rolex debuted a brand-new model and movement, the Rolex Perpetual 1908 and accompanying caliber 7140.
Rolex celebrated the 100th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race with a commemorative white gold Daytona ref. 126529. The 100 on the Tachymeter scale stands out in bright red, and the exclusive caliber 4132 Perpetual movement is hard at work inside the case, complete with a 24-hour chronograph instead of the traditional 12 hours.
Another notable 2023 Rolex release is the new generation of 1265XX Daytona watches, particularly the brand-new platinum model with the first Daytona exhibition case back.

2024 ROLEX PREDICTIONS
Justin’s Top Prediction: Coke Bezel GMT Master II
Could we finally see the triumphant return of the Coke Rolex GMT? And in ceramic, no less? The polarizing red and black bezel colorway debuted in the early 1980s alongside the inaugural GMT Master II reference 16760. It was also an option on its successor, ref 16710, but was never added to the 6-digit ceramic bezel generation.
Many die-hard Rolex collectors have been left wondering if we will ever see the return of the beloved soda-inspired GMT bezel.
The current Rolex portfolio includes two-tone ceramic bezels in black/blue (Rolex Batman), red/blue (Rolex Pepsi), green/black (Rolex Sprite), black/grey, and black/brown (Rolex Root Beer).
Ripley’s Top Prediction: Two-Tone Rolex Explorer 40
For decades, the ready-for-anything Rolex Explorer was only produced in stainless steel. The mountaineer’s tool watch always held a practical place in the Crown’s catalog, so keeping it in stainless steel made sense.
However, the brand surprised us all in 2021 with the first two-tone Explorer 36 model, ref. 124273. The Explorer 40 ref 224270 joined the collection’s lineup in 2023, but so far, it is only available in the brand’s proprietary stainless steel. Could Rolex add Yellow Rolesor to both case sizes in 2024?
Emily’s Top Prediction: Rose Gold 1908 With Moon Phase
The Cellini bowed out in 2023 to make way for Rolex’s brand-new Perpetual 1908 collection. It was among the first Rolexes to sport an exhibition case back, joining the platinum Daytona.
While the Perpetual 1908 has a similar aesthetic as the Cellini, it leaves more room for innovation with a sophisticated caliber 7140 Perpetual movement. As of 2023, the collection is only available in white or yellow gold with either a black or “intense white” dial.
Additionally, the caliber 7140 boasts small seconds and two centrally-mounted hands. Could we see more complications added to the series in 2024, such as a Moon Phase? It would also make sense to see Rolex add more precious metal options to the series, such as Everose.
Brandon’s Top Prediction: Titanium Sea-Dweller
Rolex has embraced titanium more recently, as we’ve seen with the “RLX Titanium” Yacht-Master 42 and titanium case back on the Deepsea. Could the brand be planning an expansion of RLX Titanium to other dive watches, such as the Sea-Dweller? It would be a practical move on Rolex’s part that would align with growing watch trends. However, Rolex has never been one to conform to trends, so only time will tell. - Навчання та стиль

Another great video guys. I think it might be easier to predict exactly what the weather will be like in 18 months time than to second guess what will be released but it's great fun listening to some great ideas. I'd love the 1908 to expand though as mentioned, I would agree that a larger two tone Explorer also makes a lot of sense. Stopping production of the celebration and puzzle dials is also likely as mentioned. It would be interesting if they decide to produce more dial and bezel options for the left hand drive GMT. I have a 41mm DJ with blue motif dial, fluted bezel and oyster bracelet. It's awesome :)
I like the blue motif dial but with domed bezel. It gets the attention more on the dial than on the bezel. Motif with fluted + jubilee is just too much for a single timepiece.
I'd like to see a platinum ice blue Submariner Date, and or a 18k yellow gold Submariner Hulk.

Would like to see a new GMT with black and grey bezel(as per last year on yellow gold version) but in oyster steel with satin finished bracelet (jubilee and oyster), with no polished centre links. If the Pepsi is being discontinued then there will be a new addition to the gmt line.
How about colour variations of the explorer dial?

How about Sea Dweller 43mm in titanium? Would make a big watch lighter without going back to 40mm which I agree they're not likely to do.

I’d like to see the Explorer range, the Explorer and the Explorer 2 come out in titanium, this would be a sound addition to the tool aesthetic held by both models.
They would need a new production line to process the titanium case and bracelet.

For 2024 would like to see the Rolex Sea-Dweller SD43 model, Oystersteel and Yellow Gold, similar to the Reference 126603 but modified as follows:
Very Dark Deep Blue Bezel, Intense Dark Deep Blue Dial, with Dial marking of "Sea Dweller" in solid gold leaf lettering. Perhaps Rolex could release this as a Novelty watch.
Why Dark Deep Blue? This color appears blacker than black in most lighting conditions (except direct lighting), thus increasing contrast and adding depth in the watch bezel and dial.

I agree that Rolex will likely offer some sort of "playful" dial on an oyster or perhaps day date. My bold prediction is somewhat playing off the issue with getting the "red" down on the ceramic bezel. I think that because of the great success of the Tudor black bay 58 and since they have historically used the only other company related to them as a sort of idea board...
1. They will release a Submariner with a red bezel paired with a black dial.
2. I also wouldn't be surprised if they made a subtle change with a huge wow factor. Perhaps a blast from the past by offering a Submariner or GMT with a white albino dial like the 6204/6205's had in the 50's. However, I don't think it will be offered with a date just because they don't have to offer it and if they choose to continue it then they will offer it in the years to come afterward.
3. Lastly, I think if they were offer a titanium watch they are going to do it on a watch that isn't a tool watch because that would be too awesome of them to do. Wouldn't be surprised if they do so on an Air King lol.

Can’t wait for the new collection that I can’t purchase. However, I can get them from the gray market for 2-3x retail. Buying during recessions seems to be the logical thing to do.

Concur. Not planning on buying any Rolex products in 2024. We’ll see what happens to availability when they double output by 2029. While I have been offered and purchased multiple SS sport models at retail, thanks to years of purchasing many watches at my AD, new staff appears not to care. The fake display watches and the joke prices of the in-store pre-owned products are a massive turnoff. Most informed watch collectors are aware Rolex is nothing special and I don’t plan on supporting the increasingly fetid gray market.
Just because you can’t get it doesn’t mean anything. Rolex is number 1 for a reason. Go and buy and Omega if you want something right now. Only on UA-cam you hear moaning and complaining. Rolex will be fine whatever they decide and as for the Steel sports models, they will always be desirable and have wait lists. On my 5th Rolex steel sports from my AD and looking forward to many more.

Would like to see more open backs added across the full line similar to 1908. Get rid of the trash watches like the celebration to try to reclaim some semblance of sophistication in their reputation.

I agree we may see more titanium, but I doubt they’ll do it for the Explorer-especially the 36mm. That’s a pretty light watch already. However, I could see them doing it in the Explorer II. I hope that they also release other sized of titanium YM. Maybe a 40mm?

I predict that it does not matter because you will walk into a Rolex dealer and not be able to buy a Submariner or anything else you really want anyway. So who cares? I have been trying to get a no date sub now for 8 years and they will not even accept a wait list in Miami. I just started buying Omegas. Bought the green 'seaweed' Seamaster from an AD in Key West the same day I walked in and got the No Time to Die James Bond online directly from Omega.
