At 11:33 I was deeply saddened as I believed that he caused the climbers to fall. I have now come to the realisation that he knew when they would fall before they even got on the wall. Such incredible talent complimented by hard work and dedication. I am proud to walk on the same planet as this man
I thought it was a pointless device but I tested it the other day and even if you‘re good at paying out slack with a grigri, with the neox it’s so much smoother. Possibly even better than with a tube while still requiring little strength in the brake hand to lock. So for what it’s designed for I think it performs great.
Another great vid from Petzl ! Spreading the legend of Ray Verso 💖For those complaining about helmets you missed the point, t's more of a fiction than a safety video. Otherwise yes you could also blame answering phonecalls while bouldering, doing pull-ups with a shopping kart, letting your dog drive... I thought it was good hints but not for everyone apparently.
This was the best short video I have watched this year! My favorite line was when he called these pro climbers his little "stopper knots"... LOL... seriously this was really a clever way to demonstrate some quality belaying (loved the belay check seen when the climbers pulled hard to see the device would lock) but it was styled like a short light comedy. Bravo Petzl. Bravo.
This is great! I love the implication of the pros needing to belay appropriately, since they're in the most spotlight, and sort of lead the way with what's trendy. I also love Alex Megos being in this after him trolling Ondra about belaying. ;P
Superbe idée que de sensibiliser la communauté avec humour à la qualité de l'assurance qui se perd effectivement ! Manque tout de même un point d'importance : le port du casque en extérieur...
I'm going to be honest. I typically run the Gri-Gri 2 when I'm belaying. However, it has also been 12 years since I've been climbing outdoors, and probably, 6 years since I've touched a wall of any kind. My scariest moment was having a climber on an open book trad route. Not very tall, maybe 30m max. However, when he was about halfway up, I told him to anchor himself IMMEDIATELY, because there was a small rattlesnake investigating the rope no more than 0.2m from me. Whenever I would try to give slack, the snake would become defensive. My only thoughts were for my climber. I wanted to ensure that if something happened to me, THEY would be SAFE. If belaying is becoming a problem, then we need more videos like this to ensure the safety of the climbers. I was taught "Belay" first, and "Climbing" after.
somehow this public ad and neox ad lack one crucial thing, helmet for both climbers and belayers, no matter from wich corp these helmet is coming from. Do y'all know how much "no helmet wearing" incident (both fatal and badly injured) happen in our climbing world ?
🌿⚘️❤️ Thanks to PETZL for "The Way of The Belayer". fantastic movie 🎬. The relationship between the climber and the belayer, situational awareness, control, concentration are shown in this movie very well and well thought out.
Fantastic video. Very actually for me. I almost died because of Grigri plus two days ago. My belayer was beginner and pulled fully it after panic break and I was falling close to ground. Luckily he let the Grigri’s arm go after I was yelling during the falling. My opinion the Grigri plus is very dangerous for beginners.
Started climbing in 2000s so Sharma was our god lol. Best 12min ad I've ever seen. I already have a nice gri gri and this made me want to buy a second.
After decades of making people used to paying slack in traditional Grigri way you need a great video to convince them to come back to traditional tube method once they have bought very simillar looking device :)
Gloves but no helmet 🤦♂️ Such a long content but the important thing wrong. If the belayer is unconscious he is neither a belayer nor the „worlds best belayer“. Good topic but sadly missed the chance to increase the Safety on the Rocks (there a way to many belayers without helmet outside!)….
best marketing dollars spent in a while! 🔥
And not only marketing but also more safety in the sport euros (petzl is french)
agreed!
Finally, he is back!!! I love this "World's Best Belayer" character so much.
We love Ray Verseau too !

This was amazing 😂 I think a BTS if you have the footage would be awesome and I hope it's in consideration if there is footage for it!!
Best belay film ever! Funny, instructive, great editing, music, ..., actors! Congrats Petzl 👏🏼

We'll pass the message along ;)

Best petzl video yet.
Thank you Dave !
Amazing character and delivering such an important message to regards of the product plugging.
They should have invited Adam Ondra as well! He would need it definetly!
Real oG's know the edit of the "hand free belaying" 😎
Best marketing ever. I want to buy all Petzl products and I'm a Golf player
This is top notch
Thank you

So good. I smiled/ giggled all the way through. Some great acting too ;)
Thanks so much!
Best Petzl video for years!
Thank you Danny.
this is soo goood! well done and funny. thanks / offtopic - first time Petzl video without helmet on climbers (?) - and I love it!
Just two minutes in and loving this already 😊
I need the necklace with the small Grigri charm!
Absolute gold!

Every climber needs to watch this ❤️
I learned to belay with a brake assisted tube. Picked up the neox and I love it so much.

Sans un casque ! Bravo Petzl et ses pros
Video about safety but only 1 with helmet. Nailed it.
Yeah Sasha needed one in her home gym 😂
Yeah so cool petzel ! 🤝💥❤️
well done! entertaining and humorous

Amazinggggggg
Do you already have a favorite moment?
It's like assembling the Climbing Avengers or something!
Okay that is some sick climbing from 10:52 onwards.
Freaking awesome!!!
What a production! Super cool 🙂!
Yes ! Well done to all the people involved from athletes, to actors, and film makers.
2:05 burden of dream replica in yellow?
okay but if you are advertising for safety in climbing, why is no one wearing a helmet in the outdoor climbing clips?
Finally !
I don’t even sport climb, but this was awesome!
i was just lookin for tips on belaying haha and this poped up, well that was unexpected!! was awesome though!!
Genuine question. But were they actually belaying properly? I’ve never seen anyone belay like that? Brake hand letting go of the rope?
Full movie please ❤
I love it!! I think i will also add this video to my lessons 😎 I have already proposed best and worst belayer's videos
Petzl pager out when?
Amazing
Thanks Damien

How can I have the NEOX necklace it’s important to me 🥺
so scary to think that this pager could just randomly explode
Damne well done marketing. This is generaly history in marketing for belaying.
What a cast! I don't get the message though. Does not come close to your original "how not to belay" with Nina.
Ya the neox is pretty good. Well done vid

nice video !!
