God bless my graduation class of 1974, hard to believe it's been nearly 45 years looking back, riding around in my 67 impala, the world around us have changed, but memories of the music we had at that time was just off the chain, my grandkids love it
I miss the seventies so much. Bell bottoms, flowered polyester shirts, and great music like this. Parked in the woods and falling in love. Thank you God for that time in my life. I relive it every day in my mind now that I am getting older.
So glad that I grew up in this era. There is absolutely no other music like this . The 1970's had the most wonderful words to every song that were ever written!!! From the Bee Gees to the Stylistics and to so many, many more. Great memories!!!

Steven, are there clubs in Philly where these songs / artists are covered. We get to Philly at least once a year and it would great to hear this music live.
That's awesome, small world. My mother knew Roberta Fleck as she was property Mgr for her mother's Townhouse in Alexandria, Va outside DC back in the 70s, they both became friends. Mom said she was such a down to earth person. Bygone generation man!
My wife and I had this as our wedding song. Great gal. She ran off with our mailman but it was great while it lasted. Still love this song. Hope those two are happy. I am.
I remember hearing this gem and many others as a grade school kid growing up back in the 70s on the radio, going down the hwy in my folks 72 Olds Cutlass Supreme, remember watching Soul Train, American Bandstand and all the other great music shows back then with my folks, uncles and family. Glad I'm old enough to remember real tunes like this at age 54 now. Never be another era of music like we had back then!
I was stationed in Fort Ord, Monterey California. US Army this song was #1 in the barracks. Thanks for great memories 1974.

This band made songs that I really miss !!!!! We were happy and did not realize that time was passing !!! Essa banda fez músicas que eu realmente sinto falta !!!!! A gente era feliz e não se dava conta que o tempo estava passando!!!
I used to watch my mom & dad spin around the living room dancing to this album. I couldn't wait until I was old enough to stand on his shoes and dance to this too. The music from this era resonates with me now more than ever.
Saw them last night when they played here in Cambridge (UK). One of the best concerts I've ever been to. They still sound amazing and put on a fabulous show. So many great songs. I never wanted it to end. They got a five-minute standing ovation.
Us youngsters not all of us are ignorant to old skool. im 23 and I personally love the oldies and listen to music like this everyday. I expand my music genre's to all kinds and oldies are my favorite.

Russell Thompkins jr and the Stylistics. Russell was lead singer nd sang on every song for 34 years. He still sings 50 years later and sounds so great. This is when he had 4 stage steppers/ backup singers. During first 3 albums made a d first 14 straight top hits he sang alone in studio recording . Using Thom Bell and pro singers for recording backup.
I Thank God for all music for it's a blessed an gifted talent that comes from within the soul of Grate Musicians all over the world if you really listen to the lyrics it All relates to Love It's God's greatest commandment Love it's ones preference to there choice we can't judge ourself we cannot judge others. My mother had all that group albums that song was one of her favorite ones, she had always said that song came out in 1973, it pops up on to the shelves in the shops and then just then, you pop up in the maternity ward in the hospital. She always has made me laugh with that saying, it's hard to believe that song is 48yrs old.
I am glad I grew up in the 60's.. got to hear music from the 50's to now.. But 60-70 & 80s were the best.. Soul music from Great groups.. Thanks to my mom and dad

This song has meaning, heart& soul , love and everything else( lyrics & instrumentals ). If you don't like this, check for a pulse. Thanks for posting a great classic.
sitting here at my aunt house for Thanksgiving listening to this great music right at this very moment at 5:54 this morning, I also grew up back in those good Olde days when music back then and now means something, and that's what I am talking about.Every singing artist had they on way of making you feel good about something, whether it was making you feel like dancing to the beat, making sweet love,or crying your heart out, that's why I listen to music like this,
Agreed. I actually understand what they saying. So glad I won't use profanity, by mistake, trying to sing some of today's music. Don't get me wrong, there are singers with great voices, but there is no meaning behind the lyrics.
When I was young as ten (10) years old i heard this lovely and sweet music to which in memory never vanishes notwithstanding the forty (40) years had gone, at any time when this song is layed it recalled for those years being assed through how memorable and so wonderful voice in rhyhm. Its a continuing music through out the century.
This is the best music of the era of the 1970"s. I thank God that I was able to be part of this era and that I enjoyed this music with all my friends. I feel bad for this generation that has to listen to the garbage that is produced now days.

A few years ago I was watching "Black Jesus" wherein the Charlie Murphy (RIP) character expressed his dissatisfaction with modern music and then listed his favorite acts which include 'The Stylistics'. So I said "... hmmm ..." and I had to hit up iTunes and had to download this song along with 'You are Everything'. Big AM pop hits from my youth in the '70s. Great songs.
I am in my 20's but i was blessed with good songs by my father. Although I seems odd to most of my friends by listening to their so call "old music" but i still stay put and listen to all the good songs.
I remember that episode of Soul Train oh so well. Russell Thompkins Jr one of the best falsetto voice of all time and Arrion love was a damned good singer!!
In 2010 while I was living in Vegas, I got a locals pass for a concert. It was small venue, not more than 200 people. With 4 R&B groups from the 70's. Included the Stylistics, the Delfonics and two other groups. We were so close to the performers. One of the best concerts ever.
one of my favorite love songs !!! they were great!! and incuded GOD in it too-wonderful!! they don't make music like that-anymore! i wish they still did-today! u can't beat the classics!!
When I say I wish I could go back to those days and times it's not to recapture my youth but so I could hold the love of my life just one last time. Rest in paradise my beloved. So many unforgettable memories attached to this song and era of time.
Man does not live by bread alone. Not only marketing, plus, benefit and customer orientation feeds the soul that is in us. And not only by the techniques, by the methodologies, by the comparisons between the various professional experiences, one can influence - thankfully - our style of communication, and therefore also our lifestyle. A thought, then, goes to friendship, a genre so atypical, so little gender, so special expression of the soul ..! Beautiful song.!

On this day in 1974 {April 13th) the Stylistics performed "You Make Me Feel Brand New" on Saturday-afternoon national syndicated television program, 'Soul Train'... At the time "You Make Me Feel Brand New" was at position #36 on Billboard's Top 100 chart, nine weeks later it would peak at #2* {for 2 weeks} and it spent almost a half-year on the Top 100 {25 weeks}... It also reached #2 in England and #5 on Billboard's Hot Soul Singles chart... Between 1971 and 1976 the Philadelphia soul quintet had seventeen records on the Top 100 chart, with five making the Top 10... Besides the above "You Make Me Feel Brand New", their four other Top 10 records were "You Are Everything" {#9 in 1971}, "Betcha By Golly, Wow" {#3 in 1972}, "I'm Stoned In Love With You" {#10 in 1972}, and "Break Up To Make Up" {#5 in 1973}... Sadly; the co-composer of "You Make Me Feel Brand New", Linda Creed, passed away on April 10th, 1986 at the age of 37 from breast cancer... May both she and Don Cornelius {1936 - 2012} R.I.P. * The two weeks "You Make Feel Brand New" was at #2 on the Top 100, the #1 record for both those weeks was "Billy, Don't Be A Hero" by Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods...
Memories memories memories.....thank you gentlemen, here it is decades later and I thank and bless you for the beauty that you gave to us and hope time has been GOOD to each of you!
I thank God that i was in my early 20s back then and had this music to enjoy. I still can of course, but it's different now than when your young and 'owned' the world.
Thanks Stephen. The feeling just isn't the same when your older. There is no substitute for being young with your entire life in front of you. Remember the song by the Carpenters, 'We've Only Just Begun'? That song was/is so spot on.
Listening to this again in Barbados June 2021, I was a front man in a band call phyxx, I remember back in the seventies in Montreal I was singing soul and the sound of Philadelphia, Motown was my favorite music then and now.
Soft melodies, lyrics of love, tranquility ..... surely without these sounds that make us feel well, good and loving the world was inevitably a better place!
I was born in 1966. My daddy listened to the oldies. He would sit on his bed and listen to his 8 tracks and sing. Oh how i loved hear him singing. My daddy passed 3 yrs. Ago when i hear the oldies i vision my daddy singing them. I have his 8 track player and his 8 tracks. I miss you Daddy.
This song was written by the late great Linda Creed, this woman songwriting credits is INCREDIBLE!! She died at the young age of 37 and she was white btw
@@katrinahouston1604 In our day and time it is one and the same. There has been so much intermarriage over the past that being Jewish is mostly not reflected in features and skin color anymore. The Jews of old had darker complections, they were not white.
Yes what a great sound beautiful songs they made. Better than the crap nowadays. Then you can understand the words . I have the greatest hits of them.Superb album.
I cannot describe how I feel after listening to this song. Am in another time, a time of ecstasy - no other feeling compares and is undescribable for the emotion felt. Please, can I be transported back to those wonderful days. Thank you.
This piece of magic is something else , the contrast of the two singers is amazing what can you say a privilege to listen to ,you won't see this again , 😊😊😊😊😊😊
When men were men romantic loving and respectful Beautiful music my husband enjoy together since we were 13 and at 64 still together ❤ Money isn’t everything These performers were classic dressed nice sang beautiful and their music would not degrade women
The first concert I ever went to was to see the Stylistics (mid-70's). Me and my friends had front row seats (which were level to the stage). Russell leaned over, looked me in the eyes, while singing one of the versus of this song. I almost had a coronary! That's one experience I will NEVER forget.
This was one of The Stylistics songs 🎵 I loved ❤. It was my husband's favorite song. Now every time I hear it makes me cry 😢. I lost my husband in 2001. They say time heels all wounds. This song is one that I like but there are a few more.
this song reminds me of the first time my mom told me that she loved me, i was 28 yrs old and this song was playing on the radio & i told her that everytime i heard this song that i would think of her, well she passed away 2 yrs later and i still cry like a baby each and every time..
***** How sad that you had to wait 28 years to hear your mother tell you she loved you, only to lose her two years later. Children should know they are loved as soon as they can communicate and understand communication. At least you heard it in her lifetime, and you now have a memory to carry you with you.
saw the stylistics at circle star theatre in San Carlos calif. in 1970's. the theatre doesn't even exit anymore. what great music and memories of past days.
Rowdymax1 what's going on? yep! saw them with the Jackson 5 back in the day, and Kenny G! I need to check spelling better? haha you know us marines? ha. I think the theatre was closed in early 1990's, because I did see the Roberto Duran/ Leonard fight there in 1983. how time goes by. take care!!
STYLISTICS. ....YOU MAKE ME FEEL BRAND NEW. ..... FAMOUS. IN THE 70S. 80S. . CHART TOP BILLBOARD MOTOWN. .GREAT PERFORMANCE. WONDERFUL. TO REMEMBER. ....SOUL TRAIN. .TV SHOW. .
I was born in 1999 and my generations music means nothing to me, my friends always refuse to give me the aux cord cause I stay bumping these classic hits lol
The Stylistics had many hits and though they had a very 70s sound, their sound is also iconic. I so love this band.
Nothing today compares to these songs. Beautiful

Right...I'm not old...Just not young.
Olha isso, música de qualidade, tempos que tínhamos motivos para escutar uma música de qualidade, hoje não é possível, infelizmente.
Who's Still 2020???
Beautiful Song!!!
🙂💚💜✌🏾👊🏾✊🏾💪🏾
Still loving this Music, it 2021
1973 the year i was born and one of the greatest songs i have ever heard was born too 😘
"How can I repay you for having faith in me?" That verse gave me chills.
Classic music that will last forever because it was created from the depth of pure soul.
Good old song only in a life time l am glad l live to enjoy all these songs there won't be anything close to it
My all-time favorite group. This song just does something to me.
Bellville South 1975. The song is as relevant as ever. You still make me feel brand new! Thanks, Mr Charles...
PURE 70'S SOULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL TRAINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN CLASS ACTS!
Stylistics awesome group love these guys these guys can sing
One of my favourites of the 70 s
Just love the stylistically my favourite 70s group EVER have seen them 4 times in concert. God give me back those amazing days just once more.
This song was written by the late great Linda Creed, this woman songwriting credits is INCREDIBLE!! She died at the young age of 37 and she was white btw
BEAUTIFUL song, shame we don't have this kind of music any more..but we do have memories
She was actually a Jew not white
she wrote some beautiful songs that define periods of my life and now that I know her name I will thank her every time I hear one of her songs
One of the best songs ever composed imo. Thanks for the info.
@@katrinahouston1604 In our day and time it is one and the same. There has been so much intermarriage over the past that being Jewish is mostly not reflected in features and skin color anymore. The Jews of old had darker complections, they were not white.
There is no telling how many times I heard this song on AM radio
This is real music and talent Not that generic crap they produce these days
Yes what a great sound beautiful songs they made. Better than the crap nowadays. Then you can understand the words . I have the greatest hits of them.Superb album.
your so right it was immense
I'm probably 15 -20 years younger than me and THIS sounds like it would be the generic 'crap' (I like it). Nostalgia really drives our emotions.
I know
Patrick Jones , this isn't generic ! its the original ,the forerunner . what comes after is generic !
Stylistics, Chi-Lites, Moments, Delphonics, Main Ingredient, Blue Magic, Intruders, The Futures and the list goes on. Thank, God for the 70's!!
My late wife and I danced our first dance at our wedding to this. Now she's just in my heart.
Bom dia 11ll de papel 🍊🍊🍊🍊😡😡😡😛😛
Tinybubbles
So beautiful!! Thanks for sharing that
She's in your soul brother.
Beautiful comment.
I cannot describe how I feel after listening to this song. Am in another time, a time of
ecstasy - no other feeling compares and is undescribable for the emotion felt. Please,
can I be transported back to those wonderful days. Thank you.
What an awesome song that will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart and memory. Great job guys
Tee H
Bet your man was good and happy that night
Thank you for these forever songs
Frank and Barbara Pardon danced our way through the seventy to this music and still dance to it after 45 years of marriage
:'(
That's incredibly sad, and touching dude. My condolences.
I need to check spelling better? haha you know us marines? ha. I think the theatre was closed in early 1990's, because I did see the Roberto Duran/ Leonard fight there in 1983. how time goes by. take care!!
Me too it was magical~
This music was of it's time but that particular 'time' created some fantastic music and discovered some of the best talents.......Superb.
that's the truest thing ever said, utterly one of the greatest love songs written and sung, period 😊
my goodness we had it going on back in the day and it gives me chills thinking about those slow dances.
seanviv2 all the kids slow dancing to this are grandparents now. And still loving this music!
John Sumner , Yes and we’re still grooving & dipping, 🎶💕
seanviv2e
