- Most people don't read descriptions, but this song needs one, so here we go:
Things were happening fast around Tag Der Toten (like they always do during production) and I needed to get an orchestral cue out quickly. Based on the "paper" design I had a different idea of what would go in this spot, but after playing it and knowing what we were going to use for the last circle, I realized I needed to change direction...but time was of the essence and I needed to save some.
I always loved the string run and chord progression Jack used in the Voyage of Despair boss fight...so I took his string run and built an entire new cue around it...that allowed me to save a little time since the structure of the piece was already there.
If you go back and compare the two, you can feel they are related.
This was the first time I tried this and I like the result.

To be honest, for a final encounter, this actually felt more epic than anything else. And doing this whole entire final encounter on Realistic Difficulty was heartpounding and the music here only served to make it greater
Especially when the agarthan device stops for the last time, and A Light From the Shore starts playing.

When playing I heard this and felt a Voyage vibe, now this explain my feeling
I loved this theme and did immediately realize it was part of the voyage boss theme. People say this is considered lazy but I love this bc I loved voyages theme a lot.
This song leading up to that badass tune at the end was amazing

Hey Brian thanks for bringing this theme into Tag der Toten, while I know you did it to save some time the end result was a beautiful mix between everything zombies is, a fun paced action adventure with the scope of the universe intertwined in it. Wunderful job man!
Thanks Stanley. It wasn't to save time, though. (ok, maybe a little)...but continuity on soundtrack and storytelling through music is super important too. We have never cut corners on music if it didn't also server the narrative. Listening to this again, i need to upgrade my orchestral libraries. You deserve better.

Hey Brian I read the description, as soon as i did I listened to this then the song from VoD and I can definitely hear it
It was so intense getting to this part, especially when I didn't know I couldn't i couldn't pack a punch no more
This song (even though its a bit of a remodel of an already existing song) really fits Tag der toten. I really like it. It truly does feel like the end of everything that the storyline has led up to. It also captures the stress of the moment perfectly, especially 0:51
The adrenaline felt while listening to this song in game is astonishing.

I know this map didn’t have a boss fight, looking back at Tag now, it’s not a good map at all. The ending was disappointing too

I have a music DAW at work and also at my home studio, so both. Usually I decide what music we need and where, however not always. Total team effort in the end.
