If you want to make this vegan: -use only almond milk instead of dairy milk -switch the gelatin for agar agar -switch the honey for maple or rice syrup (or Agave syrup, whatever you prefer) Edit: or vegan honey! That works too I hope this helps someone

There is a chance that there's osmanthus syrup in your local Chinese store/Asian store, a bit too sticky to be used straight out of bottle, so you might still have to mix it with some sugar water, but it tastes better than osmanthus tea. Still has the little flower buds in them, but honestly I'm a fan of that. Love that in desserts and porridges.
I always wondered why the in game recipe for this never used the usual tofu even though it's a item you can buy in the in game grocery shop which you can use for other dishs like Jewelry soup(my request for the next dish ironically) Also why rock sugar in particular? Can we substitute it with normal sugar?
Instead of keeping the tea leaves in the syrup, you could probably use chopped almonds! It would provide a similar visual effect as the tea leaves and bring some lovely textural contrast to the almond tofu ^^

I made this and I gotta say, it's amazing! So quick and easy to make and it's the perfect snack for warm days, very refreshing! I also tried it with honey and nuts which was very nice (just make sure to not overdo it with the honey cause it's already pretty sweet on its own) and it also went well along with some chopped up strawberries! Honestly, I'll be making this all the time in summer, very light, airy and cool~!

Traditionally, it's made from sweet apricot seeds, not actually almonds despite the name- it's terminology being lost in translation much like how the Asian Plum is not actually a plum and is closer to an apricot- and is congealed with agar agar rather than gelatin. By comparison, agar agar will give it a much more fragile and softer texture.

Rock sugar is just whats traditionally used. You can sub regular sugar.
