Leaving the bugs and quirks in your playthrough validates the experience we are all having. Good to know it's not "just me" or "just my system configuration." I had never salvaged before 3.20 so it's good to know my experience is common throughout the verse. Thanks for the satisfying gameplay
3:16 Thank you for that. I wasn't sure, I was thinking it was much slower but I wasn't sure as I only did a few runs with a vulture prior to the patch.
Man that was satisfying. What a great mix of commentary, ambience and speeding up footage. I haven't played since around 3.5, but I'ma wait a bit longer until things are a bit more hashed out. Wonderful video though, thankyou for taking us along for the ride.
Started SC very recently and discovered your channel looking for vehicle reviews. Your videos are always so relaxing and enjoyable to watch, as well as informative for a newcomer which is great. Thank you and keep up the good work!
Good work attempting to salvage that M2. I know those 30K's are tough. At least you made your initial expenses back when you sold your cargo. Just before the patch was put in, I got to try out my Vulture for the first time and I enjoyed it. Thanks for the videos, and keep making them. Take care my friend, fly safe, and I'll see you in the verse.
Nice that the salvage stayed through your 30k. I don’t mind a slow down in salvaging if it’s still fun and not overly lengthy. I haven’t salvaged in 3.20 yet so not sure if I’ll be happy with it or not.
It's overly lengthy, remember the are some time based missions that are hard to beat even at the lower levels due to the nerf to speed. Talking damn near 35 minutes to do a cutlass for only a few boxes
I was hoping to try salvage this evening in the Vulture, but sadly there is a bug where it says "salvage beam out of range", at any range. Should get fixed soon hopefully, and it's been confirmed by others on the issue council. Just wanted to bring that up for anyone else that sees the issue. At least we could tractor out cargo into the Taurus we brought along, so it wasn't a total bust. Always important to look at the bright side. :)
Really glad the camera shift bug is been patched btw! I have only tried salvaging once during the Foundation Festival guide event and although it felt relaxing, I prefer the mining gameplay loop for now, maybe that'll change when there's munching and such
I absolutely believe the extraction rate when salvaging ships is broken. Scanning for panels works again so if you can find them you'll see the extraction is much closer to normal speed.
I tried the vulture in the free fly and really liked it - i did end up loosing a full hold of cargo though because i couldn't sell it - i think i'd overfilled it and when i was at the terminal the last cargo slot was red with an x through it like it was blocked, and wouldnt let me sell any of it. Are we now able to buy a vulture in 3.20? if so where from?
With 3.20 it's enough to just activate gimbals to have that feature. Free look isn't necessary anymore. Most of the time I move the ship and use gimbals at the same time.
Salvaging is much more stable after a few hotfixes, and backend updates. Also the scrape speed was apparently fixed in 3.21 Risky business leaving your cockpit door open in the hangar.
Is salvaging meant to remain this trivial? Just hull stripping and the challenge is to keep transfer speed high if you do it messily, and having to manually run around inside the ship to eject crates? Would make me a little torn. I got a Prospector for laid back money generation. Mining is a bit more tricky if it's supposed to be worth the time investment, but maybe salvaging would actually get a bit boring eventually? But the Vulture also nicely has a cargo grid and can even generate multitools. I find it ugly, though, and salvaging isn't a style preference of mine. (And while it's always an easy CCU from a Prospector to a Vulture, I got a multipack, so I could never downgrade again.) I'd assume the design aim is to have roughly equal income per time invested for mining and salvaging. (Collab potential of mining also seems more interesting. The only thing bothering me is that if you really try quick-and-dirty with mining, you can end up with almost no profits.) Hm, I guess it is also a different approach with having to pay for a claim up-front. Probably less convenient to try and find a wreck without a mission contract, whereas miners can always find some rocks. Well, if I need credits I still prefer to run some illegal monitors missions in my Scorpius instead. If everything goes well, that's 20K in 5 minutes, and those missions can be chained nicely. (If not grabbed by other players.)
Do you think my PC could run star citizen? 1080ti i7 7700 24 ram HDD, or will I need a SSD? If anyone else has similar specs and knows I’d appreciate it. Thinking about trying it but unsure if I can even run it 😅
You'll absolutely need an SSD! If you want to test it, I suggest watch and wait for a Free Fly event, then you can download and try without having to spend anything, and see how the game runs.
They nerfed salvaging too much. It now takes about an hour to strip a medium sized ship. The “new” salvaging missions cannot be completed on time while solo. Makes no sense.
The speed of salvage is tuned lower than I like now. I don't care about the aUEC/hour calculation at all. That can be tuned a number of ways. Just the hull stripping is not as fun to do.
It sucks. I liked the salvage gameplay, very relaxing. But this is even too slow for me. It’s like trying to watch UA-cam with dial up internet. Salvage is kind of dead now.
The Vulture is way too long for no good reasons anymore since it will never munch anything making hard to judge the distance from objects. Lights are non-existant, thrusters under powered. It lacks a robotic arm to pack crates in the cargo area (we have this in factories TODAY). The cargo area is too small for the time spent and not worth it. After all, i do 1 lvl 5 bunker in less then 20 minutes to get the same amount of money. More over, Salvage is broken and non-functionnal at the time of writing this
@AWARHERO no I know but it is meant to munch when it gets introduced, the way you said it sounds like they changed their plans about it, sorry if I misunderstood

Thanks for your feedback, always good to know when those choices hit the mark :)
Your videos are just perfect.
Straight to the point, not too long and not too short.
Keep up with the good content!

Yup, considerably slower!

Probably needs a bump to profits from RMC to make it worthwhile though...

Real ships have curves and angles. I also just love the Corsair in the background at 17:18, slowly glitching through the highway 🤣

I love salvaging panels. Did a few last night! Did notice it takes a lot longer than before.
I have the Ghoulish Green paint on my Vulture. It looks incredible.
Seasonally accurate in a few weeks too... Spooky!
You can buy trawler scraper modules at dumpers depot in Area 18
I use those and the cinch. I keep the cinch for super small parts
Thanks for your how-to videos.
Thanks Andrew :)
Farrister, any component changes recommended for the Vulture?
Most folks just recommend the quantum drive and maybe the engines
Other than maybe the QD if you're going far from home, I really wouldn't bother with anything else.
I am really looking forward to the salvage gameplay, or any gameplay really, when they fix the can't enter PU missing button thing. Can't wait :)
Oh damn, I haven't encountered that one :(

People are making a fortune from that cargo right now too...
I just swap modules or turn on/off/on for me

4:21 I have the SAME issue....
Good to know!
Is there a way to transfer cargo between owned ships in port yet?
Clouds tech tm. What about npc tech?
Breeze past the unnatural gatherings... Don't look them in the eyes
The salvage beam seems slow only on ships. On the armor panels out in the verse seem the same. I think it must be a bug with ships.
Good to know!
Vulture has gimbals yes? Shouldn't need to move entire ship while salvaging unless you prefer to.
It does, yes. But I have problems with my bindings, so it's just second nature for me now to move the entire ship!
With 3.20 it's enough to just activate gimbals to have that feature. Free look isn't necessary anymore. Most of the time I move the ship and use gimbals at the same time.
Great vid
Thank you!
Were you using aftermarket scraper heads or were they stock?.I wonder if they nerfed the stock heads to give more incentive to upgrade.
Hopefully the change in extraction speed wasn't intentional, and will be fixed soon. I enjoy salvaging a lot.
May I ask what specs you have to run star citizen?
I thought you going to loot those nice quantanium crates ^^
Haha not this time :D
We need a new take on this sense the Vulture now handles different :D
Already did! We dual crewed one in 3.21: ua-cam.com/video/l4tqrHYY_vw/v-deo.html
Still looks different from the 3.21.1 and with the tractorbeem.
@@ulvar51 haha that only just launched!
I know... 🤣 but your the best you know 👍
So can I buy the vulture in game or no
Also it won’t let me update the game it says there was an error how do I fix
Yeah you can buy the Vulture in game now for aUEC
1.264.000 aUEC at New Deal in Lorville
Supposedly it's available in New Deal now, yes :) I haven't confirmed that though. Did you try verifying game files through launcher?
I bought a Vulture at New Deal last week, works fine@@Farrister
When OCD kicks in...
You, or me? :D
nice
Thanks

One would hope after spending an hour and a half filling up the ship, that it would be much much more than just paying for itself.
The speed on the vulture is a bug. Should go back to normal soon
Hope so

It’s a real shame they’ve killed the qt range of the vulture. It used to be great

I've never heard the robotic arm suggestion ever before but it is GENIUS. Why doesn't the ship have it?!
It doesn't munch anymore? What changed?
@@gr_egg It never did... It just does hull scrapping. When it works...
@AWARHERO no I know but it is meant to munch when it gets introduced, the way you said it sounds like they changed their plans about it, sorry if I misunderstood
Why isn't the box loading for the vulture on the same floor....having to go down a ladder is just poor design
