In my Opinion the biggest Mistake , Be ready to get Bombed about People saying how Bad it looks and How much power it needs to run it properly at 2064x2208 per eye , over 100 fps and all that on High settings ? Shadows and Reflections must be fully turned off and Draw Distance ? It will be like every stage have a Fog afte 10 meters. This is the only way with that Graphics Engine. U should make some DLC get some money and use them on the New Next year WRC with a new Engine and GPS based Maps .
For the love of FSM.. I'm begging you to give us PSVR2 version. Make PSVR2 version 10-20% more expensive than all other platforms. We don't give a damn. We will pay. For now, though.. I'm very tempted to purchase for PCVR.
Actually it's not psvr2 compatible just read through their whole vr page console not getting vr support and I'm kind of dissapointed as a console gamer this would be the first rally vr experience but nah lol I understand psvr2 is playstation but it will be fully PC compatible soon so why not release it on atleast psvr2 PC and swap it over please and thank you
Looks like it has lots of smoothing, probably to reduce motion sickness for sensitive folks. Hopefully there's a slider to adjust that for those of us that don't mind a lot of movement and would enjoy a more realistic experience.
Probably because it wouldn't present well in a trailer so they're stabilising the spectator output, though the posture of the view makes it look like the player is reclined in a bucket seat so that's a bit weird too. In any case, any decent VR implementation will be 1:1 with your movement with minimal latency so unless it's going to be fundamentally different than any other VR implementation to exist I wouldn't make the camera movement here my takeaway.

Would work absolutely fine on psvr2. It’s nothing to do with compatibility it’s do with contracts between ea and Sony or the lack of. If you think that ea wouldn’t open their games up further to ps players and develop the game to be compatible with psvr2 players then I think you are very much mistaken. This video was recorded on non-VR mode in max graphics during a replay, using freelook with a mouse to simulate head movements. Complete false advertising. This game still needs a lot of polish, VR mode cannot run with these graphics even with a 4090.
I highly doubt you are locked and looking around like this in VR as it would make you even more sick. This looks like a VR spectator mode to smooth things out for viewers. I have to say, the video looks really unnatural, and this doesn't look like VR gameplay at all. Why is the driver constantly looking around at random shit while in the middle of a corner 😂 The head movement is pretty silly.

What the hell is happening with all of your VR games??? As soon as I get in the car in VR, and move my head, the image is SHAKING LIKE HELL!!!! When I pause the game, the VR menu is stable, but the surroundings shake a lot for every small head movement. Same problem with F122&23 VR mode.... No other VR games have this issue, only games by EA Sports. I hope someone will find a solution for this, otherwise there will be thousands of disappointed players.
not recommended i try it with meta 2 suckkks and i good a high performance pc with NVidia 4080 even in normal one monitor FPS keeps drop that is suuck for real and nothing to do bored i play beamng with ultra performance and AI with alldeatil and every thing is fine 💦
is there an option to toggle 'locked to horizon' on and off? the car didnt seem to be moving around relative to the view nearly enough. it should be moving over every little bump in the road. somehting here looks so unnatural to me... maybe its been smoothed out to try and make it look better as a trailer? i dont know. this looks very worrying. far worse than dirt rally 2.0 vr implementation. im not talking graphics here, that looks ok. just the way vr works here does not look right. plus its got weird movements occasionally that remind me of a mouse flick, rather than someone turning their irl head. what is that all about.

There was that toggle in Dirt Rally VR, but until it's confirmed here then might as well hold off, not like it's going anywhere. As for the rest of the movement, yeah I'd say it's definitely configured to present well in a trailer. Raw VR capture is warped & juddery as hell when viewed on a flatscreen.
VR worked fine for the first 5 minutes although it all looked a little blurry. Tried changing some resolution stuff, now the game crashes on start up trying to go into VR-mode 👎 Disappointing. And yes my PC can handle the game.
@@sanpedrox2 the camera is not locked to the horizon in this video. I play with that setting because it just feels way more natural and better for motion sickness. I recommend everyone play with that setting on.
Have you raced in VR before? Your head naturally looks to center like in real life if you were driving like this. It's hard to explain unless you have experienced it personally. It's a huge reason why VR is the future of racing SIMs

Any chance you guys can re-fix the handling so that all of the awd cars don't understeer like f*ck all the time? Trying to do a hairpin is like pulling teeth and on tarmac I now have 0 confidence in how the car will react but hey, at least I can play the game in vr now 👍
Disaster. The limited view in cockpit mode when playing on a monitor appears to have been carried over to the view in VR. You still have no idea where the road is going until it is too late. Also what do they mean by Beta? This long after launch they should have this finalised not a bloody Beta!

Pretty aged tech at this point. Highly recommend newer gen headsets. Nothing wrong with the index though it's a great headset, just better out there for the money.

I tried Vr beta with virtual desktop, but it stutters a bit. With this link the crashes in vr as soon as I choose the machine. Let me know when you put the final version of vr as dirt 2.0.

It looks as if they have tested the game on some more high-end machines, so they may have concerns about it running well on PSVR2 (also see how the VR mode is not supported on airlink with Quest). I’m disappointed as I do enjoy my PSVR2 more than my Quest 2, but perhaps with time it will make it over. If not: perhaps our PSVR2 will finally get pc compatibility? Maybe they will revisit it in a few months, although I really fear there just isn’t the userbase on PSVR2 for them to see any rewards to porting it over. EA know how many sales they did, so I’m guessing they did the math and PSVR2 lost.

Looks weird, hope the weird smoothing isn't something noticable in VR and reserved for flat screen. But even then doesn't look right. Is there support for motion compensation?
so i see the most popular sim pcvr headset (hp reverb) is not listed as supported. and the excellent dirt rally and dirt rally 2.0 vr implementations were done by a third party, and this was done in house. i am worried. oh well, i guess dirt rally 2.0 is still fun.
It says not tested, but might work. Also, below there is a paragraph saying "How do I launch the game in VR while using an HP device?" So this might work. Hope it works, and hopefully openComposite will be able to work on EA WRC soon :)

Please fix multiplayer mode keeps disconnecting in the middle of the stage, also add LAN i know its an old feature but would be helpful on local events.
The reasoning is that unless you built a sim title from the start with PSVR2 in mind (like GT7), it's almost impossible make it run/look good with that hardware (even with eye tracked dfr). This probably won't even look very good on pc unless you have a high end 40 series card IMO. It's too bad they had to use Unreal 4 for longer stages cause it may have been easier with a different graphic engine.

Just started playing this game a few weeks ago, it's definitely one of the best rally game's i've played.
It's actually trash, dirt 2 is so much better, both physics and graphics. This game looks like it's from 2010 and physics is pretty mediocre.

I tried Vr beta with virtual desktop, but it stutters a bit. With this link the crashes in vr as soon as I choose the machine.

It looks as if they have tested the game on some more high-end machines, so they may have concerns about it running well on PSVR2 (also see how the VR mode is not supported on airlink with Quest). I’m disappointed as I do enjoy my PSVR2 more than my Quest 2, but perhaps with time it will make it over. If not: perhaps our PSVR2 will finally get pc compatibility? Maybe they will revisit it in a few months, although I really fear there just isn’t the userbase on PSVR2 for them to see any rewards to porting it over. EA know how many sales they did, so I’m guessing they did the math and PSVR2 lost.

PSVR was never even on the table. Should it get supported, yes imo but don't complain about features that were never promised.
@@p00ky76 Dirt Rally 2.0 didn't have VR support at launch. Remember the ''no vr, no buy.'' If PSVR2 players want any chance of VR, they have to keep talking about it.
If it ever comes don't expect it to be compatible with anything less than a PS5 pro

so i see the most popular sim pcvr headset (hp reverb) is not listed as supported. and the excellent dirt rally and dirt rally 2.0 vr implementations were done by a third party, and this was done in house. i am worried. oh well, i guess dirt rally 2.0 is still fun.
It says not tested, but might work. Also, below there is a paragraph saying "How do I launch the game in VR while using an HP device?" So this might work. Hope it works, and hopefully openComposite will be able to work on EA WRC soon :)

@@socks2441 Looks at OpenComposite's gitlab. But it basically does some trickery to forward OpenVR games to OpenXR for extra performance but can have very mixed results

i use hp reverb g2 and open composite/ open xr toolkit for dirt rally 2.0, i still dont entirely understand what open composite is though. :/

Please fix multiplayer mode keeps disconnecting in the middle of the stage, also add LAN i know its an old feature but would be helpful on local events.

Why the hell the PlayStation version is not supported? Seriously. What is the reasoning?
The reasoning is that unless you built a sim title from the start with PSVR2 in mind (like GT7), it's almost impossible make it run/look good with that hardware (even with eye tracked dfr). This probably won't even look very good on pc unless you have a high end 40 series card IMO. It's too bad they had to use Unreal 4 for longer stages cause it may have been easier with a different graphic engine.
Finally! Now I can play again. :D
