How to remove a security tag from clothing

It can be really annoying to come home and find a security tag left on the clothing you just bought. Well don't worry, you won't have to go back to the shop to plead your innocence and have it removed, just follow this simple tutorial.

Thanks for this. I put the article inside a clean T-shirt and brought the bit with the tag on out through the neck. Used the Dremel to make 4 vertical cuts through the plastic then tweaked the top off with pliers.

I used the Dremel-tool with a 32 mm cutting wheel to cut off the top and remove the spring. Easy.

Obviously this tip is for people who have already paid for their items. You could just put it under the pillar drill and drill downwards into the top of the dome.

Wife just bought me a pair of swim trunks, and they didn't remove the security device. I didn't want to spend time sawing on it. I took it to the garage, and used my bench grinder, to take the nub off of it. Got it down where I could grab the spring with a needle nose pliers. I was careful to keep the material away from the grinder.

I looked it up because we had to drive to France if I wanted it removed properly. Do yourself a favor and check if it was removed before returning from vacation.

How do you know if your tag is the sort that has ink instead of ball bearings ?🤔 as you say this would ruin the clothing item. Great video btw 👍

You can usually see there is a capsule of ink

I just wrapped the item of clothing with plastic to protect from the ink, then hit the thing with a hammer until it broke open. Took 30 seconds.
