This is still one of my favorite songs of all time. It complements each season, all weather, and every emotion. This song has seen me through a lot in the past 3 years. Thanks George.
[Verse 1: Mieka] Minding my own business Knock at the door, who is it? Be right there, one minute Gotta get up and go get it Got white hair, eyes all crazy Now most madmen don't faze me But these guys, I'll admit it, got me scared we're finished Chorus The scientists proved we're all gonna die They got charts and equations, the how and the why You did not invite em and neither did I But they're here, drink up, we're all gonna die Poetry section 1 Ghosts must always feel like they're visiting their old high school They don't recognize any of these new kids The halls, they twist the same, but there are all these odd new posters on the walls When I'm trying to get to get bed I start thinking about endings And instead of simply counting trying to sleep I'm counting down I'm sacrificing sheep At parties I wander from room to room not sure what I'm looking for I think I'm supposed to find another person here When I smoke too much weed And I get paranoid that every pair of eyes is glued to me And maybe they are And I'm not crazy And the spirit of every bastard who ever had a drink in this place is back for old times' sake Maybe there's a million of them Having their own party beside us And they're staring Thinking, "Look at all those lonely, solid people Pretending to check their cell phones Grandma lived 99 years and never learned to drive At the end of her life She didn't know one person left in her own age God's a bully and he makes it rain dodgeballs You can stand off in the corner and you might last a little longer But you'll never win that way Verse 2: Mieka] I go do my laundry Those dogs are right behind me Get lost in some party Those creeps will always find me Who are they? What is this? I mind my own damn business Always there to remind me all about their findings The scientists proved we're all gonna die They got charts and equations, the how and the why You did not invite em and neither did I But they're here, drink up, we're all gonna die The scientists proved we're all gonna die They got charts and equations, the how and the why You did not invite em and neither did I But they're here, drink up, we're all we're all gonna die Poetry 2 You're telling me a little vodka could kill me? How do you even know it's there? It's so still you can see right through it Well you can see through me too Said the ghost And I'm here You know because you can feel me And that makes sense Because I'm too fucked up to be skeptical right now You get drunk and start believing in things Like that shapes and even better shapes Like that a night with some stranger's gonna make you happy The only people brave enough for suicide are the cowards We're all looking out of the corner of our eyes For where to go next Like "this party sucks, there must be someplace better" The ghosts, they know we're thinking like chumps. they know it's not important who we go home with tonight Partly cause they can't generate friction, so they can't have sex But mostly because party is right here And it's the best party ever I mean look bro, ben franklin is making out with marie curie Fucking classic, Reagan's doing his falling out the window bit again Casper can't even hold his liquor It goes right through him You never seen smoke rings until you've seen a Ghengis Khan hit the hookah Chris Farley'll even let you use him as a vaporizer bag if you ask real nice Our eyes are little projectors Life's a drive-in movie theater and my grandma needs a ride
My bro Watsky deserves so much more than the entertainment industry will ever allow him. Bro stands for what he stands for, and has a flow you can't groom. Loved him since 2016. Haven't ever stopped being strong like an OAK, and hearing the sad sound of a guitar string snapping. ❤
SeedlessPro everyone please stop wishing for eminem to get back on drugs. the man cleaned up his life for himself and for his family and its really sick that you would wish something so bad on the guy. this video was made years ago and he's in a different place in his life right now.....he's 42 for christ sake!!! he grew up and so should you....damn
As a medium this song makes makes me smile so much, I honestly don't doubt that you (George) are also a . medium feeling what spirits are feeling Thank you for letting me to feel like I'm not alone in my experiences
Why is everyone getting defensive? Yes this is a poem, and yes this is a song, and yes we're all going to die, and no, nobody knows what's going to happen afterwards. What is there to argue about? Just scroll up and watch/listen to the genius.
Watsky's work came into my life at a time when I wanted to take my own life, it entered the stage and always helps to brighten things up for me. Your one of the best.
Absolutely wonderful. Wonderful lyrics, great delivery, the singer managed to express as well as sing the words, and the drawings were incredible. The video was well done too... I guess talent attracts talent.
I love the artwork and the way it's got more of a poetic vibe but the chorus is sang I love the combination of the poetry singing and drawing and the artwork it creates all put together
I don't know what's drawing me to you right now, but I think I'm gonna listen to all your music in the next couple days. I think I've grown a lot in the last years and I need to reconnect with the stuff I used to love. Hopin you come out with 'Intention' soon, but, more importantly, I hope you're doing well
I think watsky is a talented artist and I applaud him for being unconventional. If given the opportunity I would love to sit down with him and find what makes him tick, what compels him to pen lyrics. I do have to say though, his ambiguous thoughts for a track like this are loose and a jumbled mess at best. I do think he is a better artist when he raps fast ( a phenomenal one at that, much better than I) but I think there is a lot of development he could experience if he really analyzed his lyrics and tried to have his words coincide with the emotion of the chorus. It didn't match up to me, but I will say that suicide line about cowards are the only ones brave enough to do was pure genius. The rest was forgettable. Keep up the hard work man and hats off to Mieka Pauley for the awesome chorus and the artist. From one creative writer with similar ambitions to another, I hope to hear more from you watsky
Love it when my favorite artists come together. Weird how you guys live on the opposite coast but I'm driving around pumping watsky on my stereo, get home and catch some ERB, laughing to Monday shows and wishing I could buy every one of mary's definitive doodles, and you guys are all hanging out over there making more awesome stuff.
Watsky, never change. For fuck sake please never change your ways of making music, it is possibly the most original shit I have ever heard. I didn't know that music this down to earth could come out at clear as it does. There's no beating around the bush in this music and honestly that's exactly how it should be. I'll always be a fan as long as the music stays true. Good work man
I just remembered that this is the clip that made me know both Watsky and Mary Doodles. I still love them both more than 10 years later, their work is incredible.
God damn Watsky you just keep getting better and better. This is why I share everyone one of your videos with everyone one I know. Because if they don't like you, I don't like them.
I love watsky have for years and have never heard this till I threw on a wounded healer playlist as I'm losing it from my little brother passing about 5 years after my dad. Watsky, Ren, nf all have been help to get some stuff out... I love you all.

Today was the first time I listened to this song. Then, I checked out NicePeter's channel, which led me to JustDoArt. After watching that video, I decided to watch more Watsky, but I accidentally clicked an annotation. Which led me to Watsky. Awesome.
This song is beautiful. I can't believe how expertise Watsky has become. Seeing a poem that means so much, that has such feeling and yet has humor at the same time. Thank you sir. You've made me feel something astonishing.
@gwatsky Keep it up watsky, Me and many of your viewers will always be here to view the pieces of gold you seem to put out every time. @gwatsky This is an amazing song! I listed it right away as one of my favorites, and that's kinda rare. The text is amazing, your two voices make a very good combination. Please just keep making music (or art), you're really good at it. Thank you!
Fun fact: I asked Watsky tonight at his poetry show what his favorite poem of his is and he said it was this one
Michaela Rubinfeld , you're a filthy liar
@@BobisKool why is it so difficult to believe that she asked Watsky a question at his show?
Same though

"god's a bully, and he's making it rain dodgeballs"- George Watsky
God bless.
I recognized Mary Doodles the second her pen touched the paper. Her drawings are brilliant!
[Verse 1: Mieka]
Minding my own business
Knock at the door, who is it?
Be right there, one minute
Gotta get up and go get it
Got white hair, eyes all crazy
Now most madmen don't faze me
But these guys, I'll admit it, got me scared we're finished
Chorus
The scientists proved we're all gonna die
They got charts and equations, the how and the why
You did not invite em and neither did I
But they're here, drink up, we're all gonna die
Poetry section 1
Ghosts must always feel like they're visiting their old high school
They don't recognize any of these new kids
The halls, they twist the same, but there are all these odd new posters on the walls
When I'm trying to get to get bed
I start thinking about endings
And instead of simply counting trying to sleep
I'm counting down
I'm sacrificing sheep
At parties
I wander from room to room not sure what I'm looking for
I think I'm supposed to find another person here
When I smoke too much weed
And I get paranoid that every pair of eyes is glued to me
And maybe they are
And I'm not crazy
And the spirit of every bastard who ever had a drink in this place is back for old times' sake
Maybe there's a million of them
Having their own party beside us
And they're staring
Thinking, "Look at all those lonely, solid people
Pretending to check their cell phones
Grandma lived 99 years and never learned to drive
At the end of her life
She didn't know one person left in her own age
God's a bully and he makes it rain dodgeballs
You can stand off in the corner and you might last a little longer
But you'll never win that way
Verse 2: Mieka]
I go do my laundry
Those dogs are right behind me
Get lost in some party
Those creeps will always find me
Who are they? What is this?
I mind my own damn business
Always there to remind me all about their findings
The scientists proved we're all gonna die
They got charts and equations, the how and the why
You did not invite em and neither did I
But they're here, drink up, we're all gonna die
The scientists proved we're all gonna die
They got charts and equations, the how and the why
You did not invite em and neither did I
But they're here, drink up, we're all we're all gonna die
Poetry 2
You're telling me a little vodka could kill me?
How do you even know it's there?
It's so still you can see right through it
Well you can see through me too
Said the ghost
And I'm here
You know because you can feel me
And that makes sense
Because I'm too fucked up to be skeptical right now
You get drunk and start believing in things
Like that shapes and even better shapes
Like that a night with some stranger's gonna make you happy
The only people brave enough for suicide are the cowards
We're all looking out of the corner of our eyes
For where to go next
Like "this party sucks, there must be someplace better"
The ghosts, they know we're thinking like chumps. they know it's not important who we go home with tonight
Partly cause they can't generate friction, so they can't have sex
But mostly because party is right here
And it's the best party ever
I mean look bro, ben franklin is making out with marie curie
Fucking classic, Reagan's doing his falling out the window bit again
Casper can't even hold his liquor
It goes right through him
You never seen smoke rings until you've seen a Ghengis Khan hit the hookah
Chris Farley'll even let you use him as a vaporizer bag if you ask real nice
Our eyes are little projectors
Life's a drive-in movie theater and my grandma needs a ride
Thank you
i don t wanna go the way they say but i got to let it be my way
I have to come back every so often for a listen. 9 years ago already? Damn Watsky- it’s been a journey- thanks man

George Watsky, Mieka Pauley and Mary Doodles together...pure magic. Doing even one routine thing today will be near impossible.
"Life is like dodgeball. You can stand in the corner and last a little longer. But you'll never win that way."
That's my new motto.
It’s been 12 years since you said this. I hope that truly happened for you and continues to happen for you. Best wishes:)

Why is still at 500k? This is one of the best songs ever, so much flow, passion and good mood with some deep message. Cmon guys!

poem first, music second, is the nature of this song
Everything was great. She's got a great voice. I just enjoyed the whole thing. Thank you Watsky.
i really like the singing in this song but when watsky talks over the music it kind of ruins it for me
Why?
***** because it ruins the whole vibe its annoying and doesn't sound good at all
Classic Bass I think the opposite, I like Watsky's bit but the womans voice ruins the "vibe"
***** well i think her voice is the song i love watsky but this is one song i could do without him if he rapped it would have been good
Classic Bass It was meant to be poetry in this song not rap its to serious of a topic to be rap.
I Cannot WAIT for February 1st!
