Lovely patina to that wood when it is 'French Polished', - I have a table with a top on it made from that wood, - every body admires it, (when it is not covered over). Mind you it looked very nice in the video, - which I just wish had NOT been 'speeded up'. You could have enjoyed the beauty of it more as each slab was revealed.
Thank you for your comment ☆ (^ o ^) I hope there is someone like you who is interested in wood products. Many of the other lumber videos are not fast-forwarded, so please have a look if you like.
@Trucky Luv. - That tree would have had EVERY solitary piece carefully planed, sanded, and polished, with virtually none wasted. That type of wood is NEVER found at your 'local' DIY store or timber merchants and 'the offcuts' certainly never get burnt or scrapped, - unless its just an odd piece of bark only.
Does anyone know what they do with a great thick slab like that. It looks like it would be something pretty significant. You could make a guitar for a giant who could play some real heavy metal. And where do they get those little rimless safety helmets only the Japanese seem to wear.
The chinaberry was, when I was a child, a very popular ornamental tree here in Texas. Then, when it turned out to be so prolific, people took a dislike to them and started considering them to be a weed. The ones that were not cut and burned were neglected and we have enough thunderstorms here to keep them in bad shape and most of the died off. I was struck by the grain pattern in these trees you have been sawing and I now realize that we foolishly allowed several mines worth of gold slip through our fingers.
Texas lost/destroyed an absolute treasure in my eyes. I made a 48 year career out of woodworking and I don't think I have seen any lumber to outshine the Chinaberry tree and it's beautiful grain. I see stunning cabinetry and furniture in the offing from a gorgeous and healthy tree through and through while I'm left to wonder if it grows and thrives out of volcanic ash.
@@ManuelGarcia-ww7gj Hi Manuel. I was referring to volcanic ash from Japan where the sawing of the Chinaberry tree took place, not in suggesting that there is volcanic ash in Texas. We have remnants of volcanic ash here in North Dakota, most recently from Mt. St. Helen's big blow in 1980 in the state of Washington. Air currents brought the ash to us and points east.
