Brilliant machine! Twenty years drying out will twist and bend the slab. The reference plane of the laser makes it easier to set the bandsaw. This method is much quicker than using a thicknesser/planer to do the same job. I`d love to see the next processes and whatever you eventually make. Arigato !

My brother-in-law used to work for Mitsubishi Trucks back in the 70s-2014. He spent a lot of time in Japan and my sister quite often went over too. She would buy different bits of beautiful timber work(furniture) to dress up their house. Maybe some of that timber came from your mill??? Would be a so fantastic if it was , what a small world.

This tree is a ginkgo tree. It is called ityou in Japanese.
旦那が居なくてせいせいしただの、女房がうるさくてやってらんねぇだの。こういう人生を共に生きている御夫婦がいるだけで幸せな気分になれます。この様な方はどんな仕事をやっても成功間違いなしですね！ましてや、ちょっとの失敗でも大事故につながる事を生業としてやっておられるのが凄いと思います。本当に凄い❗️

こんなに樹齢のある銀杏。鶴岡八幡宮にあり倒れてしまった公暁が隠れていたという銀杏を思い出します。その銀杏を輪切りにしたテーブルで飲んだのですが、周囲の凹凸が激しく飲みにくかった。あの木の本体はどうなったのだろう。製材されてどなたかの家や店で使われてるのでしょうか。宝だな。
