Heaviest load ever shot in my Super Redhawk 7.5" .454 Casull. 300 grain Hornady XTP and that was the hardest recoiling handgun load I have ever shot, your loads look even more brutal in recoil!
@brianklamer3328 Thanks for the comment! These 400s were flat out punishing. The 300 XTPs are no joke either, but they feel much lighter out of this snubby than the 400s.
I bought a 460V X-frame revolver with five inch muzzle brake equipped full lug barrel profile. I use it as my 454 Casull platform. Bullet creep is not a problem with a revolver chambered for the 460 S&W magnum.
Great point, even if there is creep that 460 cyl is long enough you will never have issues! This Alaskan is notorious for bullet creep. I have been doing my research on the rounds that are known for creep. These Doubletap 400s were tested heavily in the Alaskan and have positive reviews. Creep, another reason I will not be hand loading 454 in the near future.
@ChristianGrest yes, those 400 grainers are so brutal. After shooting a box of 20 im done with those for a few months 😆. That that snubby 629 performance center is a fun one.
@@Publicdefender77 Oh I bet! I lost some feeling in my hand after shooting hot loads through that PC Smith with the wood grips...took a few weeks to get it back. Slapped the hogue on there and it's much better. It's pretty pleasant to shoot for the most part now.

excellent video my brother 👌 you are shooting the 260grs a lot smoother than in your first Alaskan vid 💪😎

That hurt just watching! Wow! I do love me some revolvers though. Need to get mine out again.

Kentucky proposes to provide free helmets for these revolvers. Will you reuse the shells or just throw them away?
you can load .454 casull in a 45 70 lever gun.
@@stratinvllc really? I feel like that shorter case would give it issues when racking them.
@@Publicdefender7745/70 uses .458 bullets. The Casull uses .452. And you are right about the cartridge length being too short.
Try putting ur left thumb over your right thimb and not tea cupping it 💀💀
I had my left thumb over my right for pretty much all of those except for the light grip testing. Those 400 grainers are just so brutal.
