True Marcus, but BelgePowaaa kevin is still right. You can get a WAAAAY better laptop than a fucking macbook, if you want mobility and good gaming performance. I do realise that it's not the actual computer running the games, but the input lag is still a horrible experience compared to the actual laptop playing.
I'm actually in the beta... it's decent! I wouldn't use it for PUBG or Overwatch... precision is king in games like that, but for singleplayer games it's absolutely usable. (Using a 2015 MBP)
This is the future. Interner will get eventually fast enough and there will be no need to buy gaming hardware ever. I imagined this future 10 years ago, finally its coming.
I imagine that though internet speed will increase like 500mbps hell 1000 or 5000 Mbps in next 10-15 years , the gpu power will also increase which would be better than playing through streaming services , For example in future -if u get very very ultra settings from geforce in like 100 units money U will get same graphics with ur PC in lesser overall money like the case that is now present in 2017 , so sane thing will be there , GPU is Gonna prevail like infinite time ,
Mayo lol , is it common among people and gamers?? Do u own it? Does ur friend own it? Ur rich friend or relative owns it?? Its not common , just a mega byte internet was not common b4 10-15years
it can actually be a reality for older games like ps2 or ps1 because most of them run at 360p 30fps but when you want to stream something at ultra settings/4k/144hz it's really asking too much from current internet speeds
this is quite mind blowing. So in the future what would be the need for a powerful desktop or laptop. YOu just buy a bog standard functional one and 'stream' gaming. This is the future?
dng992 This would be great. You’d then buy the additional controller of your choice and hook it up to your TV. You have saved a ton on not needing to buy a Xbox One X or Acer Predator etc.
Bartlomiej Milewski Not really, GTX 1080 (what gefore now performance equates to) costs £500, so depends how much Nvidia charges the service you can get to play for 2-3 years for that price, with the added benefits of stop renewing and upgrade to future generation card for free. Whereas if you buy the 1080 and 2-3 years later you have to pay extra £200-300 to sell and buy the new generation card
Just tried it ... and it is AMAZING ... some games did show significant lag but it is still in beta and I had a bit lower then recommended connection ... NVIDIA rocks 🤘🤘
I just played Cities Skylines, lag wasn't a problem, but you don't have to react fast with this game... I guess the lag would be too much if you're playing first person shooters... Edit: sometimes, randomly, it drops all frames for like a second. I have an internet connection of 500 Mb/s up and down, so that's not a problem.
I've used this on my iMac and its pretty insane that its even a thing. That being said, while the input lag doesn't make it unplayable, it does mean you will have a significant and annoying disadvantage in any PVP game.
I will definitely give a YES to 15$/mo, it’s only 180$/yr and 900/5 yrs, as far as I know GTX 1080 (Gigabytes ) is going to cost you roughly CAD$ 650 without tax on Amazon. Despite the cost of other hardwares like CPU, motherboard, hard drive and so on, you are still most likely going to update your video card in about five years just to catch up with those famous games. Many gamers I know wouldn’t even wait for five years to update their hardwares. So the idea of cloud gaming actually attracts me a lot.
This might be how future computer are going to work, a super lightweight laptop with a super fast internet all around the city. Everything are done on the cloud. And this could even apply to phones and tablets!
If you want you can with streaming lol Comcast Xbox app lets you stream from you console but on a phone it is too small ile recommend at least 15inch tablet on the go lol but yea I don’t my playing games when out on a 16inch MacBook I just like the True Tone mode that makes everything look better
to be honest, i don't have a mac, but i love this way of playing games. If I am using a mac or mac book and i want to play games at home, this serves would be a must have for me. It is amazing how technology has come, cannot wait for the day that any kind of thin and light laptop can stream games whit maximum setting and 60 fps.
geforce now is so good I'm using a MacBook 2017 Touch Bar and having the freedom to play games at the highest possible settings where ever I go WITH AMAZING BATTERY LIFE!!! is a true blessing . I could play for a full 5 hours from a full charge and still have 20% battery to watch youtube or something I love it
Great video, didn’t know this was out there. I currently have an older windows but am considering changing to a Mac. This would definitely be a bonus as it would keep all of my games playable and probably allow me to play newer games in top settings too!
If I was a MacBook owner I’d be glad I can finally play max settings on most games. Gaming on a Mac used to be an issue but even tho we need a good internet connection for this, the games run smoothly which is good enough for me
I have to say, I was a liquid sky user, got loads of credit but with the recent update from liquid sky it seems they are releasing Mac client any time soon. So I have started rocking this lovely service, I did a quick video on cs go running on MacBook Air and it was amazing 100FPS and higher, unlike liquidsky capped 60
The concept is great, but don't get too excited yet. I have a 2017 13 inch macbook pro and I was running geforce now with lan. (tried it this very hour) My internet speed and stability is more than good enough to be able to run nvidia now properly. Yet my experience was far from perfect. The game I was playing was pubg. The input lag is very, very noticable. Small mouse movements won't register correctly and the overal input lag makes the game feel like you're running it at 20fps. The concept is amazing but it's far from a powerful desktop replacement. Hopefully they will be able to reduce the input lag in the future, otherwise I don't think this is ever going to be a desktop replacement for more serious gamers.
ruben games This is your wifi, I have over 120 hours in PUBG on geforce now and i have 0 delay, or input lag. You need 5ghz or more so don't be suprised if you haven't that's probably why
ruben games By the way, I didn't mention this but before i had delay aswell because it was only avaible in us/canada now it is in UK all the delay is completly gone, Cheers.
I have GeForce… And I am playing squad… On my MacBook… With my Xbox one X controller connected via Bluetooth… I am finally able to play good PC games on my “Macbox Pro”. Completely worth the subscription cost for me. And I’m running squad on 1080 P and Epix settings. Everything but the textures is turned up all the way. The texture is a set on high instead of epic. It runs amazing and I have very little lag using an ethernet cable.
I’ve known about this service for months, and used it to my advantage until I could finally get my new gaming pc. It was the best gaming experience possible on mac. Doom at 60 FPS on my 2011 MacBook Air? What dark magic is this? Thanks Nvidia!
Its going to be like 20$ for 10 or 20 hours of gaming. I don't remember so don't hold your breath. If they are taking this pay by the hour approach I doubt anyone will buy it
Seems like a really great idea for casual gamers like myself. I just don't play enough games to justify buying/building a gaming machine. So this would be a great way to play games sometimes with maxed out specs.
Righty. I downloaded it and have played some Elder Scrolls Online and Cities Skylines. For some reason it is very blurry. If I don't move in ESO and just stand there for a few seconds, the screen goes sharp and looks great. But when I start moving around, the resolution seems to noticeably drop. My internet connection isn't very fast and I only have a 2.4 Ghz router so I am guessing this might be why.
I like this concept. I am a person who is into macbook pros but I like some gaming. Let me repeat...SOME gaming. I simply hate how people be like “pc does better gaming at half price” and all of that. Me personally, I’m not much of a gamer, and I don’t want expensive specs just for games. I just want the expensive specs from macbook pros because I also do (and will do a lot more in college next year) coding and acadamic work. The high end macs are meant for professionals who need power like video designers and even scientists and engineers, and I am part of that intending professional. But yes, as you can see with my avatar, I do play minecraft, and it’s just a medium-end game. If I want to play high-end games, which I occasionally do, then yes, I like this concept explained in the video that I could use.
I've had this service on my nvidia Shield TV for some year now. And yes, its good, but please keep in mind that you have to buy some games (newer games). Even if you pay for the subscription. And you have to keep paying for the subscription in order to play the game that you bought.
Only the PixelBook is well built enough for this. Most Chrome Machines will probably have a slow clock speed. Many Steam games require a 2 GHZ or above machine. I imagine this would need something similar with a super fast broadband as well.
R C dude u can now geforce now even on a 1gb ram, hell 512mb ram with Intel celeron or lower with 1ghz and 50gb hdd , only thing u need is a fast internet , u don't actually need a powerful devices , any PC can run it having windows or Mac os (not sure about chromeos) , even ur old computer which u Bought b4 10 or 15 years can run it , thats the concept of geforce now ,PlayStation now and many other streaming program , u don't need a powerful PC ,u need a PC capable of running a video that's all with fast net
I have 200 Down, 25 Up, and it is extremely inconsistent for me. I've been trying overwatch, fortnite, PubG, H1, and CSGO on this, and while the FPS is always amazing even with maxed out settings, I get a LOT of random lag spikes. Sometimes every time I hit my mouse 1 the game freezes until I let go of the button. Other times all my input is incredibly delayed, and I'll be running into walls for 15 seconds. Then there are times when it plays 100% flawlessly, and I have no issues whatsoever. In the current state of this service I certainly would not pay for it, but if they can improve it further to avoid those issues, then I mean this is awesome. No more running bootcamp to play on 50 fps with lowest settings. No more dropping down to 20 frames when taking a gunfight in csgo. This has serious potentioal .
Thanks for the heads up on GeforceNow for Mac, im reluctantly still running an old Macbook Pro 2011 and this has allowed me to run Civ 6, one of the only games I play on the Mac which my old model couldnt handle
Not really I wouldn’t recommend streaming for VR or pro gaming yet maybe in let’s say the year 3000 then yes lol but for me streaming is A ok 👌 for single player on a monitor for now and will continue to gradually get better and better input lag fixes
Anyone remembers OnLive back in 2010 or so? Pretty much the same service. I used to play high-end games like Mafia 2 and Just Cause on a NetBook (some old Lenovo netbook) and I was really upset when they closed down. The experience was more than decent - any game in seconds and on high graphics with 60fps on any hardware. So, I'm really excited about it. But, as he mentioned - good internet connection is mandatory.
I’ve used this. PUBG works awesome with G force now my input lag is literally nothing. Looking at the data it’s 0.05 MS. Almost no difference than my PC gaming rig. Love play PUBG on the couch. It’s legit
This practically rids the need of a physical gpu, and cpu. I’m kinda jealous after shelling out 800$ just a year ago for a gaming rig just to have a 10$ monthly subscription service give me what I wanted for only 120$ a year on better hardware, and giving free upgrades. It’s cool but... I can’t help but feel pretty bummed, I think physical parts are awesome
So I've been able to mess up GeForce now already XD. I went into offline mode on Steam (that shows up when I wanted to launch Warframe). At first it worked totally fine, then when I quit it and then launched it again I realised that I'm stuck with the box asking whether I want to stay in offline mode or not and I can't click anything. Update: Turns out It was because I had my controller plugged in. The mouse showed up again after unplugging and restarting it.
If you're talking about the setup that goes on after clicking launch on a game, yeah it takes ages for me every time too, really annoying. I'm sure they'll improve it over time though.
maddestruction1 Well, i dont own a mac. But itd be convenient to use a game streaming service on my hypothetical mac. I have an MSI GS63VR Stealth Pro, and I love it, but it gets loud, and the cpu throttles. Its what you get if you want a thin gaming laptop.
Yes but the point is, you can build a gaming pc with duel 1080Ti's for the price of a Macbook Pro 2017. Having all the performance of a Mac, but with gaming, upgradable etc. etc.
II TANFi3LD II you’re missing the point. This is not about buying a MacBook for gaming, it’s for people who already use a MacBook for other serious purposes and want to game a little on the side
Yes but there is no point in comparing desktops to laptops, besides dual 1080Tis alone don't have the performance of a Mac, you still need to buy other components. This is potentially revolutionary for laptop users (or some desktops) as the price for a capable graphics card in a laptop is hugely expensive, it might be worth it to just subscribe to GeforceNow and get the same performance for cheaper, and less power draw and heat too. I think you really are missing the point.
I really like this idea a lot. It would be interesting to have this available on Windows as well if it isn't already. To me, it seems very viable if you do this on silent machines.
Best part is that you can use your steam account for it so you don`t have to buy games for additional 60$ plus monthly subscrition. For someone like me who have like 200~300 games on their steam account and only owns macbook, this can be a best option possible. But to make it widespread service, the price have to be resonable and should price by month. Not by times you use the service.
This would be great for alot of my single player games :D since i already run ow and csgo fine. I would use this for probably the newer single play titles.
Streaming still requires the cpu to function properly hence why do you think if you have a screen you require a streaming box that holds the components to stream you stil require a small computer
I think this company has stumbled upon the future. Cloud based high quality gaming. If it means you don’t have to buy lots of expensive gaming equipment and cooling systems etc. This is a major win. High speed internet and a fast computer being the only requirements is great. This could make Laptop gaming better than even Xbox One X or Acer Predator options. A subscription service which does the hard work for your laptop is great. This company if done right could be as big as Netflix. Hopefully this means an affordable monthly subscription.
I use it for overwatch. It's definitely not ideal, but i've dreamed of playing Overwatch on my mac for forever. You definitely should have a wired connection, and it's still low res looking.
I’d like to see VR games coming to this service as well Which would mean people wouldn’t have to build or buy a high gaming laptop or pc to play such titles
Nice going Tom. Haven't seen this anywhere else yet.. so i guess you are the first one to tell about this. Also, I have a request. I have been watching your earlier videos from the past couple of days. Along with the content, I also like your choice of background music. So, could you put the name of background music used by you in the video description for your future videos.
The concept is great. But this has been a few years beck when OnLive was the king. But there is one thing i don't understand. If Nvidia give us this nobody will buy new gpu's ... so the gpu sales will go down... there must be something in the middle. By the way, great video, subbed!
30ms input lag? That is a huge difference for online gaming. Its a great service from non-competitive games though. Id pay nothing more than $5 a month but thats it, it doesnt offer a big incentive to "game" on my mac when I can just use an eGPU thats slowly refining over the last months.
I think you should do a video of the delay between clicking the mouse and the screen moving, with both ethernet and wifi. You can use a high speed camera for that.
Newer version of GeForceNOW seem to work better on macOS (no more display artifacts or crashes) but there’s still too much input lag for me to use it with Rocket League.
This is definitely the future.
They will eventually get the response time to 10
ms some how
if they do that then you have a winner
haha idiot it's verry expensive for a gaming computer
BelgePowaaa kevin it is about mobility idiot
True Marcus, but BelgePowaaa kevin is still right. You can get a WAAAAY better laptop than a fucking macbook, if you want mobility and good gaming performance. I do realise that it's not the actual computer running the games, but the input lag is still a horrible experience compared to the actual laptop playing.
Haha, No!
You have to pay 9.99$ a month, the most (smart) people would buy a gaming PC
I'm actually in the beta... it's decent! I wouldn't use it for PUBG or Overwatch... precision is king in games like that, but for singleplayer games it's absolutely usable. (Using a 2015 MBP)
Brian Tate I used it for overwatch and it's just fine
Tapias Kickerz_Colombia its playable for me. Just wouldn’t play widow or competitive using it. I do still play from time to time
When did you get the invitation code?
Brieul you don't need one you just go to their website and sign up and download it

You see that son? Thats the future.
You see that son ? That shit was here 5 years ago, but it failed just like this crap will.

@@Cr1ptlord HA BITCH, it works perfectly and didn't fail like you said.
This is the future. Interner will get eventually fast enough and there will be no need to buy gaming hardware ever. I imagined this future 10 years ago, finally its coming.
agree with you, but imagine cpus's ram's and gpu's prices going low because everybody can game on a cheap laptop or pc...
I imagine that though internet speed will increase like 500mbps hell 1000 or 5000 Mbps in next 10-15 years , the gpu power will also increase which would be better than playing through streaming services ,
For example in future -if u get very very ultra settings from geforce in like 100 units money
U will get same graphics with ur PC in lesser overall money like the case that is now present in 2017 , so sane thing will be there , GPU is Gonna prevail like infinite time ,
Hareesh Devendran gigabit internet already exists

StrikerXL try playing 4k 144hz
it can actually be a reality for older games like ps2 or ps1 because most of them run at 360p 30fps but when you want to stream something at ultra settings/4k/144hz it's really asking too much from current internet speeds
I've been playing this on a 2015 MacBook (passive cooling, not GPU or even CPU fan) and it's great. :)
Great idea. Shame about the UK broadband infrastructure. The best I can get is 21mbps down no matter how much I pay. Also, I can't afford a mac lol.
Liam Ashton but other than that you're good to go 😛😀
Sounds like it's not an internet provider problem it's just the fact that the technology isn't good enough to carry an internet connection that fast
Liam Ashton moreso where you live, not really a U.K. thing. Where I live I get 100MBPS.
Shame I can get super fast broadband in my area.
I’m already getting 50 MBPS and could get double that.
Top tips:-
1) Look at last years Mac’s
2) Look at Certified refurbished by Apple

Same here but considering the new surface book 2 it's really the best laptop now I think
nope, it runs windows 10 s, which is a shitty version of W10
JRMH CNSK you can upgrade to W10 for free
I am sticking to ASUS because its also a very great computer for gaming and it is cheaper than $1,000
why not just buy a new pc, get a decently powerful pc laptop for games, for less then a mac, then you wouldn; thave to stream to play good games

That inputlag tho
Thanks for the heads up on GeforceNow for Mac, im reluctantly still running an old Macbook Pro 2011 and this has allowed me to run Civ 6, one of the only games I play on the Mac which my old model couldnt handle
Idk why i have the urge to download this on a mac os VM on my gaming razer blade lol
OMG what a time to be alive!
This will rip pc master race
Jayson Sambrano how?
Not really I wouldn’t recommend streaming for VR or pro gaming yet maybe in let’s say the year 3000 then yes lol but for me streaming is A ok 👌 for single player on a monitor for now and will continue to gradually get better and better input lag fixes
That is just crazy! Now you won't even need to purchase an expensive laptop! Love this new feature! 👊 Definitely getting this feature!
Awesome for people with unlimited wifi data.
Manuka Maduranga like most people
not most people in south asia!
Manuka Maduranga i'm Indonesian and I have unlimited 100 Mbps internet for $75/month
Frumentius Jati I have 100mbps for £35 a month
Joshua Paul well thats pretty cheap. Where do you live?
Anyone remembers OnLive back in 2010 or so? Pretty much the same service. I used to play high-end games like Mafia 2 and Just Cause on a NetBook (some old Lenovo netbook) and I was really upset when they closed down. The experience was more than decent - any game in seconds and on high graphics with 60fps on any hardware. So, I'm really excited about it. But, as he mentioned - good internet connection is mandatory.
So it's basically a revival of OnLive? and rip high bandwidth institutions that dont block incoming Nvidia domain traffic.
Hariskillsstuff think they even bought onlive
I’ve used this. PUBG works awesome with G force now my input lag is literally nothing. Looking at the data it’s 0.05 MS. Almost no difference than my PC gaming rig. Love play PUBG on the couch. It’s legit
i would like to pay 800$ for a lifetime account :3
I love streaming video games I do streaming PlayStation now on UA-cam it runs sooo amazing this is future for gamers awesome video 👍
*Gaming on a MacBook just got WAY better!*
That's something a regretful mac owner would say.
Which mouse is that? Logitech G-Series? But you got an USB C cable?
Probably a Logitech G703 with a USB-C to Micro B cable. They sell a cable that looks just like that on Amazon for about $10 USD by Cable Matters.
100 percent i would be interested, this is probably the future of gaming.....Say another five years or so.
MovieMation for me it just keeps on loading.. and loading... Aaaand loading...
If you're talking about the setup that goes on after clicking launch on a game, yeah it takes ages for me every time too, really annoying. I'm sure they'll improve it over time though.
This will revolutionize the whole gaming industry .........
I would pay up to $10 per month. Mainly because I'd be broke from buying a mac.
Anonymous Person Why don’t you just buy a decent gaming pc instead lmao
maddestruction1 Well, i dont own a mac. But itd be convenient to use a game streaming service on my hypothetical mac. I have an MSI GS63VR Stealth Pro, and I love it, but it gets loud, and the cpu throttles. Its what you get if you want a thin gaming laptop.
Anymous Person Just wear noise-cancelling headphones.
Anonymous Person id pay $50
per month? Also, love the profile picture. I love Joe Biden memes.
External GPU is a good one as well, quite expensive though
Overwatch??? There is no Overwatch on mac
Apparently there is a build ready, just not released yet.
Wow, if it's true - awesome!
Awesome concept, but the input lag kills it for me. Should be able to stream from my PC to my Macbook over LAN
Yes but the point is, you can build a gaming pc with duel 1080Ti's for the price of a Macbook Pro 2017. Having all the performance of a Mac, but with gaming, upgradable etc. etc.
True - but some people just prefer Macbook Pros, and maybe aren't enthusiast gamers - so this is a good half-way house for them :)
II TANFi3LD II you’re missing the point. This is not about buying a MacBook for gaming, it’s for people who already use a MacBook for other serious purposes and want to game a little on the side
waitwhat sounds like that person made the wrong decision then... XPS 15 GTX 1050? All round nice performance...
I think you really are missing the point.
waitwhat what about people who want to use macOS or dont like Windows? Should they not have the option to game on their preferred operating system?
Wow, I had this idea years ago. Glad they figured it out.
It sucks. Buy Windows PC
Santarpan Roy no
pepe da frog yes
Santarpan Roy just mad that we don’t need a pc anymore😂 this makes Mac better
This works very good on my mac, i have a 2008 macbook pro and it runs destiny 2 perfectly
Has a lot of potential a few years down the line, just needs a bigger selection of titles.
I really like this idea a lot. It would be interesting to have this available on Windows as well if it isn't already. To me, it seems very viable if you do this on silent machines.
this is amazing, blown away, I want this now
Best part is that you can use your steam account for it so you don`t have to buy games for additional 60$ plus monthly subscrition. For someone like me who have like 200~300 games on their steam account and only owns macbook, this can be a best option possible. But to make it widespread service, the price have to be resonable and should price by month. Not by times you use the service.
Whether you like Macs or not this is significant as when Windows compatible low end Windows computers can play high end games
"Input lag" - completely heard that as "nipple lag". I don't know what this is, but it sounds like an upgrade over what I've got.
Thanks for the video. Just checked Overwatch and it runs like a charm though I couldn't log in to Steam to check other games.
This would be great for alot of my single player games :D since i already run ow and csgo fine. I would use this for probably the newer single play titles.
i tried this out on my 15” MBP and it worked really well! the only issue was that it used the dGPU in my 15” model so its not 100% ideal for me yet
If they can minimize the latency as much as possible this could be really cool! Imagine playing PUBG on your phone while on the train.
This is actually a useful service!
This may be the freakin future right here!!
I think if the input lag drops below 5 ms this will be the future of gaming
Mac is great now
I’d like to see VR games coming to this service as well
Which would mean people wouldn’t have to build or buy a high gaming laptop or pc to play such titles
IN all honesty I like ur videos
Nice going Tom. Haven't seen this anywhere else yet.. so i guess you are the first one to tell about this. Also, I have a request. I have been watching your earlier videos from the past couple of days. Along with the content, I also like your choice of background music. So, could you put the name of background music used by you in the video description for your future videos.
This is madness i'm so excited!
GTA V or even Battlefield 1 will run just fine on the entry level 2016 MBP if you install windows.
Great, gonna try it today on my Retina Pro 2012! :D
I think you should do a video of the delay between clicking the mouse and the screen moving, with both ethernet and wifi. You can use a high speed camera for that.
Cant wait till it comes out for windows, its going to be so good.
Newer version of GeForceNOW seem to work better on macOS (no more display artifacts or crashes) but there’s still too much input lag for me to use it with Rocket League.
I have a MacBook Pro and an windows pc. So I would need something to play on the go but it is a great concept
This is actually cool technology, there will be no more need to update graphics card every year for cutting edge gaming
Nice, right after I upgrade to a i7-4790 and RX 580 I hear about this.
This is great. Throw a controller in your bag with your MacBook on vacations or over a friends house and boom, do some pretty decent gaming.
Downloading graphics cards from internet was just a meme 2 years ago, future is coming so fast
