- Two for one in this video, we have two Trd pro four runners 2024s one in the terra color and the other one in underground. This dealership isn’t doing any mark ups, and they said this would be at MSRP I would still try to negotiate. These are beautiful trucks I absolutely love the forerunner is the last of a dying breed of a dead breed because they know more like this the last year you can get a V6 in the forerunner, terrible gas mileage, but it is one of the best SUVs in my opinion at least with a V6 But a lot of people feel like this price is outrageous, but you get what you pay for. 
nobody wants to pay 7-8% interest rates with a 800+ credit score thats all they can offer...
They also know ppl want them b4 Toy switches to that 4 cyl turbo crap.

People need to stop paying even sticker on ANY new vehicle. Aside from the 4Runner, NONE of the new junk is built anywhere near the quality of their older models.

I picked up a 2023 4Runner TRD OR last January for 43,600. They are 10k over that now for the same exact mechanicals/features. We looked at all the offerings, and with all overcomplicated tech that manufacturers are loading into the current models, it was an easy decision to pick the 4Runner. The engine/Trans will go 300k no problem, and you don't have to worry about valve deposits, collapsed lifters, oil pump failures, or the thing leaving you stranded.
@danmiles8190 if you dont mind me asking what was the sticker price? I keep looking for them but most places want 50k+ for last years model.

The sticker was $42700, and then we added a couple of accessories to bring the total sale price up to $43,600. The prices have gone insane. When we bought our new one, used 4Runners were just as expensive. I don't understand who would buy a used one for roughly the same price as new!@@jeffmather728

2010-2024 are all the same vehicle. No need to buy anything too new when they last forever. All the cosmetics and features can be upgraded on the cheap.
No dealer markup on overall price but they are making you buy overpriced accessories like a $400 cooler, $500 dashcam, etc.
$699.00 administrative fee on top of all the usual fees .
You guys must remember! Get an out the door price ONLY! From there, make an offer. They can say no, and so can you. Don't ever be afraid to walk! As things tighten the ball will be more in our court. You can always go back, but don't. They have your number and will call you. If some other sucker comes in and pays too much, so be it.
Just say no and they will take it off.
They have no choice.
The auto market now is a consumer driven, unlike last year.
This☝🏼 was at dealer last week and they had $5k in accessories and they were proud about it. Walked out and purchased a CPO Lexus GX460 for less money and was treated like a king.

The MSRP trick Toyota is using is "Port installed options". They're including extra accessories added at the reception port for the vehicle and adding it to the MSRP with no need for an Adendum sticker. Its a sneaky way of doing a markup without admitting to it.
Facts..This is true..
The most egregious example of this is the addition of TRD wheels for $1,700. The Off Road comes with $1,600 wheels, so your paying $3,300 for 1 set of wheels. Stupid stupid stupid!! And these are installed on 80% of the 4Runners. I refuse to pay for 2 sets of wheels even at $3,200 below MSRP.

The port installed options are not Toyota, but the distributor in that particular region. The southeast region distributor is notorious for adding on non negotiable products.

Go to Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio or Michigan to buy a Toyota and tell SE-Toyota and Gulf states Toyota to take a long walk off a short pier. You are free to make them submit to your will. Enough people buy outside their region and SE Toyota WILL change,
I just bought a used 2019 4Runner TRD off road in Barcelona red! It only had 42k miles on it. I’m loving it so far! Just did my oil change, front and rear diff change and transfer case change.

Even though I'm a Jeep fan and love the Wrangler, I've always loved the 4runner and have been contemplating switching to a 4runner due to increased reliability and old school yet insanely durable drivetrain. Thats a sharp looking TRD Pro!

Those roof racks got to go also, I removed the rack off my Grand and I gained 1.5 MPG these racks and crap everyone puts on their trucks are costing them 5 MPG at least. Folks just blowing money on the old credit card
Happy New Year’s Eve Kenny! Nice! I really do like the Forerunner! The SofTex seats are nice to have! They are definitely pricey as you said. I do like both the Terra color and the new Underground gray color. I would probably choose the Underground gray myself unless they had a darker Blue color which has always been my personal preference. I’m not always that picky though. It was nice they had the one on the rail stand so a person can see the underneath! I know personally I wouldn’t do any off-roading, so I would probably opt for a highway type tread on the tires. I’m skeptical about the next generation if Toyota adds the 2.4 liter turbo 4 cylinder engine! I know some turbocharged engines can take the stress and some don’t do as well! When I bought my new 22 TACOMA, the predator tube steps came off, took five mins. They just get in the way. Truck looks cleaner without them. Still storing them , maybe I'll put them back on someday people thought they looked good on my black Tacoma. I like the clean cut less clutterd look. Anyways saw your hat, not a Cheifs fan but you can never count them out. Allways loved your videos great stuff. Happy New Year........

Amazing. In Oregon, Colorado and Florida apparently they have the all the top trims and colors just sitting around on lots. On Staten Island you have to take whatever they got, and asap, because it will be gone by tomorrow. Next car I buy I'm flying to Oregon to buy it. Then I'll drive it back home, road trip style.

Bought a new 2016 4 runner for my wife. Great truck and never a problem. If the quality is the same with the new ones you can’t beat the reliability

That's wild to me that this dealership alone has TWO TRD Pro's just sitting there unsold. There was a time when you'd have to wait 6months to a year to find one. Even where I live in Rapid City SD I'm having to drive 3 hours to get mine in a few weeks. Found a TRD Pro in Underground and can't wait to pick it up.

No way, anyone foolish to over pay for a depreciating vehicle (the day you drive it off the lot) is outta their mind. Why so many are under water on auto loans. There are other alternatives/competition that have come back to earth in pricing now.

I just bought a used 2014 4runner SR5 for about 23k... After seeing this brand new 2024 TRDpro for freaking 60k... I'm not really missing anything.... I could care less for technology. I love the 4runner. But gotta buy them used. It is still too expensive brand new.

Yeah mostly it’s GM, Ford, and Stellantis that are offering 0% on their majorly overpriced junk that they just cannot sell and often have 1/2 year or better worth of inventory sitting around these days. I got 3.99% on my 23 Tacoma in early October. That’s the best Toyota seems to be doing but I’m doubtful if they’re offering it on their 2024’s?
In Canada, we can’t even buy these things. The dealers never have them if you had 1000 of them available in Canada you would sell them all in one minute all that sticker or more. It’s bizarre US gets all the forerunners or Toyotas Canada gets none I’d buy one in a minute if I can get one available, buyers are very lucky in the US in Canada. We don’t have that opportunity to buy these at all.
If you think these prices are expensive in the states and off-road starts here at 62k not including tax it could run you almost 70,000 but they sell all the time here we just don’t have any. I’ve tried to be on a waiting list. It’s been over a year and a half. I would love to get them for the price that you guys get them for.

My local dealer just sold a 2022 4Runner limited with only 18k miles for $40k. Clean title etc.
My wife and I were on our way to buy it and it sold right when we got there.
Toyota is doing $2000 off msrp for them now.

People are waiting on the new redesign 4 runner to come out. Keep in mind the redesign was due to hit the market in 2022,we are now looking at 2025. The current design would be 16 years old. And the price point for the same old design😢 went from $41,000 in the year 2010 to now $58,000 in 2024. It’s time to bring this amazing ride to current times with a new design.

If you like the new Tacoma (2.4L turbo), you might like the Gen 6 4Runner because they’re going to share a lot in design and powertrain. Not for me.

Waiting on my TRD Pro. I ordered black and was talked out of the predator steps because I could just get after market ones. Was also sad that the bronze rims aren't an option on the 2024's and the dealers won't sell them to you because they're only for certain years

I bought a base 4x2 4runner for 32k in 2018, no one in their right mind would pay 50k for 2024 4runner.
You bought a base model 2wd and it was 6 years ago.
Look at inflationary prices of everything over the last 6 years.
Additionally, a loaded Limited 4Runner in 2024 is completely different than your 2018 2wd base model. And a 2024 Limited or TRD Pro aren’t $50k fully equipped. They are closer to $60k now.
My local toyota dealership wants 2023 SR5 4runner for 45k. I laughed and walked out.
Heated steering wheel is huge. Previous 4Runner steering wheels had an ice core.
$60k for a 8 year old suv that get 17mpg and cant tow more than 5,000lb.

$58k is way too much for this truck. I really want a 4Runner, but I didn't buy one for all the reasons you mentioned. I purchased an Outback Wilderness and love it. The used prices are dropping on these trucks, I may still end up with one but keep the Outback.

Truth is I trashed it! Just got lucky and bought a 23 pro Tacoma will be selling my 4Runner but I will 100% buy a new 4Runner before the switch
I love the TRD Pro, but I just bought a 2024 4Runner TRD OFF ROAD PREMIUM for $4k off the MSRP. Plus, 4.99% for 60 months. On top of that, Toyota is giving you a 2 year or 24 month maintenance plan for FREE. So for $13k less than this one is selling for, you get basically the same truck minus the upgraded suspension and wheelset. I think that it's a much better deal.
Exactly you can’t go wrong with any 2020 4Runner and especially with a discount like that people that are interested in these trucks better get them new while they can if they want one new. If not, you can get a used one, but it is something about having a new Toyota truck. I’m just saying if you can afford it and it’s in the budget, do not take any financial advice for me lol 😆

Just purchased a solar octane 2023 TRD Pro 4Runner 2 weeks ago and couldn’t be happier. I traded my 2013 FJ Cruiser that had 222k miles on it. I expect no less from this beautiful dinosaur.
Too expensive even at 48k. They just arent realistic. I bought an 05 tundra limited mint with 100k for 15k. Gonna rock it for 20 years.

@@supersingular and what I'm telling you is, Toyota makes hyper reliable turbos because they have been making them for years outside the US. This is not new for them just because it is new in the US. They are a global Goliath and it is about damn time we got turbos in our trucks like the rest of the Toyota fleet did.

Up here in western Canada there is still a wait for 4Runners. Toyota dealers have very little stock up here.
Bought a 2024 4Runner 2x4 Limited 2 days ago for $49,000. Tax, Tag, and Title $53,000. Dealer couldn't sell them at these interest rates. Car was on the lot over 60 days so the dealer purchased several from Toyota and had to floor plan them himself. Bad juju for the dealer. Paid cash. Finance guy said they lost money on the trade. Probably not, but they didn't make their usual margin. He told me interest rates are killing their sales. The automotive cycle is turning downward. More pain ahead as I don't think interest rates are going down. $10,000 cheaper than the Ford Explorer. I think this is because it is made in Japan and the Yen is weak against the dollar recently.
BTW,, no dealer perks were included, no oil changes, no tire rotations, etc. Car has 3rd row seats.

Price + Interest Rates right now means this trucks are going to continue to sit....thats an absurd monthly payment with the price of gas on top of it.

One problem is that you went to the salem dealership and the prices there are very high. When I bought mine I fell in love with one in salem but they wouldnt budge on the price. I went to Wilsonville and got the same 4 runner for almost 5 grand less. I just had to wait a day for delivery. Now as for the bells and whistles, When I am crossing over the mountains in a blizzard, i just want a vehicle that will get me where I am going and back home again without any hassle. The 4runner is that vehicle. Bragging about bells and whistles in the parking lot doesnt help when you are 30 miles from a paved road and in snow or mud. Lastly, I dont care about the gas milage. I care about low maintenance and after 340K of rough use and abuse, my 4 runner has only seen the shop once for a non scheduled maintenance visit. I dont want fancy. I want what works.

I know you mentioned that people don’t buy the 4Runner’s for the MPG’s, but the official 17 combined MPG rating is probably the main reason 4Runners are abundant nationwide and the same for the 2023 GX 460, even though it’s the last model years with the ultra-reliable Toyota V6 and V8 engines.
The main reason I picked my 2022 Rav4 Prime over the 4Runner TRD Pro/GX 460 was because of the nearly 40 mpg hybrid rating and the 42+ all electric miles. I disliked having to make a weekly trip to a gas station in my 5.7 V8 Tundra and shell out over $50 a fill-up.
I loved the frames on both the 4Runner and the GX 460 over the Rav4 Prime, but having to make just one monthly trip to the gas station is great. Toyota hybrid SUV’s are still some of the hardest vehicles to find on the market and for good reason.
Too bad we can't get the Prado with the D4D diesel instead of the GX. Just saying. Rav and the CRV are rough riding little SUV's. Don't like them regardless of the MPG's. I'll stick to my X3 BMW with decent AWD with real 8 speed ZF trans. Only get 25 MPG's but its rides like a Lincoln and hauls ass. But I got my eyes on a nice 1998 Prado with 30K miles with the D4D. A real Mint JDM.

This is the perfect off road SUV to go camping in. I'd love to own one in the future. Just not right now...
I can just imagine putting a small foam mattress in here, a sleeping bag, a cooler to store water, a large box to store canned food, a small portable stove, a high capacity battery charger, and a large first aid kit. Then I'll be set to camp out by a river for days in this car. Maybe bring a portable water purifier to drink the river water. This SUV would be perfect for all of that.

4T is much better, they look GREAT, I get it. Test drove one and its a slug, the 4T in the Grand Highlander, night and day difference...SOLD. I figure I will get an older SR5 for off roading when I save the funds up. I lived in Japan for 11 years V6 has been around for ever, the Japanese would throw a super charger on these. The V8 Land cruisers/Prados is where its at
The problem is that with the GX 460 V8, it’s not only a worse gas hog than the V6 (premium fuel required $$$), but it’s not that much quicker than the V6. I don’t mind shelling out $$$ for extra performance, but the performance of the V8 compared to the V6 is almost the same. I would go with the V6 in this case.

I just paid off my 60k for my 2023 trd pro SO otherwise I would get the Terra. Everything I have seen on the new motor, people don’t want the new motor, which I agree, I don’t want more moving parts, though I would have liked a 7 or higher speed transmission over the years. Almost got a manual taco just to have more control and less downshifting.
Yeah solar octane is a beautiful color and i definitely like it more the Terra ! We will see what happens with the New Tacoma and 4Runner ! One thing is for sure your resale will be great con your truck ! Can’t go wrong with a 4Runner definitely one of my dream vehicles! Terra really growing on me!
With newer vehicles getting faster and faster, whether through turbo's or EV's, my question to newer 4Runner owners is, "Do you find the acceleration (say, from a dead stop, like a traffic light) to be troublesome?" In other words, "Does it seem like the vehicles behind you are itching to get around you, or has it not really been an issue?"
I keep telling myself to test drive a 4Runner, but my 12 year old Pathfinder runs like it's brand new.
They do not accelerate fast at all really. 7 secs to 60 but the truck is not built to be a speedy vehicle. It’s a 5 speed. Love mine!
No matter what you buy someone will always want to go faster.. who cares
No problems on the boulevards, slow on uphills on the highway….my opinion on our 2016.
I have a Tesla Plaid and my father has a 4Runner TRD Pro. You would think coming out of the Plaid that the 4Runner would be horrid but no. I LOVE driving that truck. It is comfy, does what I need and just a joy to drive. The only gripe I have is the drone from the TRD exhaust which I'm not a fan of.
Toyota dealership near me still can't keep them on the lot new. They have no issues selling new cars.

Buy any used 4Runner with a rear locker for 20k and you just saved $40k you can then use for upgrades and gas. 60k for a 15 y/o vehicle in WILD!

These look nice, but it has SO much stuff that just doesn’t make sense. This large vehicle should be using a V8, preferably the 4.6L V8, but properly turned to its displacement to more than 400hp and more than 400 torque. Give it a solid 6spd transmission. This is a truck through and through. And should be powered and treated as such. It’s an off-roader, treat it and build it as such

lol. I have a 2024 Camry XSE and feel the same about the touchscreen radio, etc. They should design it where an iPad would dock to the dash. The touchscreen in my car is very difficult to use and counter intuitive. It’s actually a driving hazard since it’s so hard to navigate.

No one wants to pay 60K for an SUV with an outdated interior and tech. I love the 4runner and Tacoma but for the price in the truck realm the Ranger raptor and ZR2 Colorado are far superior.
Bought a 2024 Ltd 4runner $5k off msrp on Dec 29th.
I think with the Land Cruiser falling back into midsize SUV territory with the 4runner, The 6th gen will be a more affordable 4runner than the 5th. The Land Cruiser will be in the mid 50s starting. So maybe the 4runner will fill the price range under there.
