    Hey, nice tone. Not as thick as regular wide HBers; nice clarity. The current Crestwood Customs (the ones with symetrical headstock and cutaways) are not a million miles from this, but I think I like this sound even a bit better.

    great playing. I used to have one of those guitars and I always loved minihumbuckers. I had to sell it and then I bought the reproduction Epiphone made and liked that one even better, then I had to sell that. Later I got another repo and I still have it!

    Just great pickups back in the day. Presumably these were (Kalamazoo) Gibson minis?

      @@TheVinylBeatles 8 months later having worked on a number of AB763 Fender amps from this era I'm fairly confident its the amp. Hehe.
      That is exactly how they sound. This Deluxe probably has a ceramic phase inverter output coupling cap. Cuts a lot of the lows while still sounding spanky and warm (1020pf is my sweet spot so far with alnico speakers). Those pickups are probably quite bright (for A2) and would maybe sound quite modern through any other amp.
