YOU'RE THE ABSOLUTE BEST BRO. I JUST CRUSHED AN 1800 WITH 92.3% ACCURACY AND THE BRILLIANT BISHOP SACRIFICE IN THIS LINE. KEEP IT UP MAN!

No joke, after watching this, I have never lost a game where I used Caro-Kann: Tartakower Variation. I'm ~1200 elo so that won't work forever, but wow what a great intro.

I don't usually comment but man I had to appreciate you and your work here! I am currently preping for a tournament and wanted a Karo Cann masterclass. I first got to Gotham chess course's free sample but then they were too expensive according to my country's currency and that is where you came in! Amazing explanations with such details in minimal time is absoulutely banger. Keep it up bro.

My pleasure. The caro has been my fav. opening as black vs e4 for the longest time, I am glad I can share what I learned about it!

Won my first game using the sacrifice idea today and it gave me a brilliancy and I played at 95% accuracy. This will definitely be a weapon I use in the future.

    Really nice video!
I have recently switched to the Tartakower Variation for faster time controls rather than using the Classical Variation and have, in the last few days, won both of my first two games with the variation:
    1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3. Nc3 dxe4 4. Nxe4 Nf6 5. Nxf6+ exf6 6. Nf3 Bd6 7. Bc4 O-O 8. O-O Bg4 9. h3 Be6 10. Bb3 Re8 11. Be3 Nd7 12. Re1 Nf8 13. Qd2 Ng6 14. c3 Qd7 15. Rad1??
    Bxh3 16. d5 Qg4 17. Kf1 Bxg2+ 18. Ke2 Bxf3+ 19. Kd3 Qe4# (Not best play on either side, but entertaining)
    1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3. Nc3 dxe4 4. Nxe4 Nf6 5. Nxf6+ exf6 6. Bc4 (Forgacs Variation) Qe7+ 7. Be3 Qb4+ 8. Resigns (Forgacs Forked Bishop Trap)

Hey man. I just wanted to tell you: I always disliked playing this variation and only have a 40% win rate with it. I watched your video the other day and today I had this variation again for the first time. I got EXACTLY the kind of kingside attack you showed with sacking on h3 and then nh4 to seal the game. Checkmating in 20 moves. It was the most fun BY FAR I ever had playing this variation.
Thank you so much for the lesson!

SO OUTSTANDING AND GENEROUS OF YOU! ONE OF THE MOST PRO Ch.s I'M ENJOYING FROM RECENT DISCOVERY OF YOU! I'M A BIT SURPRISED AT YOUR APPARENT AGE TO BE DOING NOT JUST A FANTASTIC PRESENTATION JOB HERE BUT ALSO SO WELL ROUNDED. YOUR HOST DEMEANOR AND PRO PRESENTATIONS ARE AS GOOD AS ANY OF THE MANY CHESS CH.s I'VE EXPLORED OVER THE YEARS. I DON'T USUALLY COMMENT BUT SURE HAD TO HERE AND EXPRESS MY DEEP APPRECIATION FRIEND. BLESSINGS, ... MIKE.

There used to be a 1500 rated bot in athletes Christian Pulisic, I have played against him so many games but I either lost or drawn against that bot. Recently I finally beat this bot using tartakover.

Great Video. I was always afraid of the pawn structure and play Cd7 before Cf6. But now I will try it. Thanks!

on the slide at 00:10 of the video - it's the "Advance" (not "Advanced") Variation. This due to the planned advance (e2-24-e5) of White's e-pawn in that variation

I absolutely loved this video , subbed . I play the caro kaan and play this line all the time but i never knew about this bishop idea to use the pawn as a hook, i have always maintained the pin just as a reflex. (1600)

Nice video! However I checked this line with the online database and it seems like it is not so easy to get our main setup when White goes for Nf3 combined with an early c4 cause Nd7 oftens runs into d5 issues.

Interesting. But ... the analysis doesn't take into account the best responses from white. Check with an engine and you will see that a big part of the video is pointless
