Today I'm silently making a handmade leather camera strap, a great beginner leatherworking project for anyone looking to get into leather craft. This video goes through the process of how to make a leather camera strap, which you can follow yourselves or take inspiration from for you next project. This leather ASMR, no talking video is a big change of pace from my usual style of content. I hope that you enjoy these relaxing leather ASMR sounds, and that it perhaps helps with your leather crafting ideas.

Really cool I love DIY. I would really like to try this.. what kind of leather do I need? The leather in the link is out of stock.

Hello I love this strap and am going to attempt to re creat it the best I can. Unfortunately I have never made anything with leather before so I have no clue what I am doing. I just wanted to ask what that white creamy stuff is you apply to the edges? Thank you :)

    Hi James!
Loving what you’re doing with your channel! Beautiful cinematography. Anyway could I kindly ask what’s the length of the strap? And also the distance you cartered for the punch holes?.

Hello! Thank you so much! It's a ~1 metre strap, which I cut at 110cm and then folded the ends. The holes are 15mm apart, but it took a bit of trial and error to get the correct distance on the end for the fold (if that makes sense). I tried it on an offcut first to be sure.
A little note I'd add: With the keyrings attached directly to the camera, there isn't much room for them to spin so it's a bit tough to use; adding a second ring on each side or using some cord to attach them allows them to spin more easily and it's a lot more comfortable to use. I don't know if that makes sense, but hopefully it'll be clear if you make one 😅
      Hope that helps!

Extra side note: If you can get some swivel snap hooks on there instead of keyrings, you've got yourself a quick release camera strap!
