How to Make a Lens Filter Case | Beginner Leather Tutorial
I was lucky enough to have access to a custom leather shops scraps and id find an incredible variety of every color style and type leather (so many grades and styles of leather im learning) most of there stuff is super high quality to the point i feel bad cutting it up to make something and muck up along the process and ruin a beautiful piece, but i guess its like anything else PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT right? Im currently getting back into making slingshots like i did all my childhood but now im on the wrong side of 40 (goddamnit, just typing that out and seeing that number 😢 uuuhhhgg) guess im still that same kid who loves to build, fix, and create stuff, im just not as fast, strong, or beautiful as i once was but ive got the wisdom and experience points 👍 Anyways, leather crafting and catapult-smithing go hand and hand as ive started using leather to wrap frames and make custom grips and also making what we call whip or gypsy tabs and fancy but super functional pouches, to leather ammo bags, and custom leather holsters, and actually making leather super effective "frameless frames" and much, much, more.. Working with my hands and creating things, repairing and modifying things is one of the few pleasures i have left... Thank you for your time 😌 🙏
Great , simple straight forward.... Clear voice smooth discourse.... Excellent choice of background an camara angle; yet the lighting as single source and could be improved 1 or even a third lighting source
Loved the cigar pocket...awesome idea
Thanks how do I check the switch starter using my multi metre this is the o ly thing I can't check everything else seems fine have power from ug to grinder but press switch no joy ?
Hi. I also have the same question as someone below. Hoe can one get by by not using the two rivits? I cannot get any here in South Africa where I live. Very well done project.
Cool video !!
$60 and up for the kickstarter feels a bit much.
Awesome! Thanks for the inspiration
Muchas gracias. !!!!! ❤❤❤
Forgot to ask to make sure.... If i want to redo something that has been done prior with stain and some type of varnish can i just samd ot down and then burn, and restain? If its a bed frame and headboard will the oil work or will it need a varnish? Thank you.
Thank you soooo much!! I've watched a few different rustic stain videos and yours is the best!! I LOVE the look you did and love how explained how to make it different depending on likeness of darker or lighter. The MAP gas vs the blue propane looks like it makes a big difference and the better explanation on technique of how to burn is soooo helpful! Plus the different stains, oil, finishing products you use are different then other videos. Thank you! It's 1am and I want to run and get my sand paper! 😂
Love turning 2 small things into 1 thing the size of 4
I need a place to buy this straight up 🙏
What kind of knife do you have represents your personality, like what kind of person you are 🫥
Just found your channel and immediately subbed. You should have thousands of views imho. Please keep making them and I’ll keep watching them.
Great upgrade on the classic design. Thanks for sharing. I will be making myself one!
It should not be tiny nor bigger, what is essential max 5 cards and notes un folded. Wallet folded. No RFID or charging or carbon alluminium etc.
You created a much better design. More elegant, less fussy, more flexible than those commonly available. And your craftsmanship is impeccable.
Thank you for offering the designs at a fair price. That makes the whole thing so much easier. Please more videos about EDC and leather. Great work, great channel.
That’s a kimono wallet.
Hey, noticed that the Baron pattern doesn't say that it needs rivets. What can you use in place of rivets if you don't have any?
as soon as i saw the thumbnail i clicked on it. i have been tinkering with new organizer ideas for years and can't seem to settle on a good one. can't wait to try this out. thanks James!
Love these and thankful for the FREE print files. The fact you took the time to improve the pocket caddy game when it’s been stagnant for so long is huge. Solid content.
I made the first design a few days ago after seeing this vid, I’m really loving it so far it is rather a genius idea. Fair play and the pattern made it easier than my usual ‘reverse engineer it from a still image’ so thank you 🙏
Love it mate, a thank you I'll give it a go at some point
Seems way more of a pain to put in things that have pocket clips. Now you need to pull out the organizer and then the item you want to grab versus just pulling the knife or light from your pocket. The only thing this helps is it keeps things together for loading your pockets quicker, but at point of use it is a pain (both styles). I think there is soomething there that could still be improved upon, but these are still a bit limiting.
I made my own too and I concluded that pocket organizers are useless. It’s more material in your pocket and you have to fish through the organizer to get your stuff rather than grabbing it immediately while loose in your pocket. I figure that pocket organizers are here to carry little extras things that don’t need a bag but still bulky enough to require organization. But if that’s the case, a small sling/messenger works way better.
thanks for the pattern, I really apreciate
I’d love to see your take on the belt mounted version of these. I’ve been considering making one to get a few things out of my pockets and this design looks great but I’d be worried about retention
Yup, versatility is an awesome consideration. I did find the fixed middle stitches limiting options.
👍
i got a bad request error when i try to download those patterns :(
Just sent you an email, should resolve the issue!
@@JamesKGraves thanks, i appreciated it :D
This is great!
What is the little note book ?
Rite in the Rain On The Go - they’re the size of a business card so can go in your wallet too!
@@JamesKGraves I made myself a note book holder to keep in my sleeve or pocket of my apron
Great job 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this! Always inspiring to see new ideas!
Thanks for watching!
Love this pattern, definitely can see the advantages compared to the hitch and timber carrier I have now, I might have to make one up. Looks kinda inspired by open sea leather wallets
Thank you! Would love to see what you make. A couple of people said that about my previous minimalist wallet design; I’d never seen their stuff until people started telling me, but I can see the resemblance!
My biggest issue with the aluminum sandwich minimalist wallets is they require two hands. If I’m holding my daughter and I need to get a card out, it’s a pain in the ass. With a thin leather bifold I can easily get cards out and put them back with one hand. The design of the metal sandwich just doesn’t make logical sense.
Very nice work. Respect to the idea.
Damn men have such big pockets they need organising 😮 the dream
And STILL, we never have enough space in our pockets…
@@alice_hml my pocket have pockets
Unsolicited advice: try men's jeans! Thank me later!
Lmfao shall we compare the size of my pocket to your purse? Sure I COULD carry a purse, but you could also wear men’s pants 😂
Well you see... Not all women use purses. Also, men's pants tend to firstly, be made in a smaller hip to leg ratio. Less importantly, the button and zips are on the opposite side. And more obviously, there is typically more room at the crotch, which tends to be bulky on women for obvious reasons. The pants are made for different anatomy. If you want a good "fit" in men's pants as a woman you can't really have much in the way of... Womanly assets. While baggy pants are a style, it'll typically be bulky in all the wrong ways.
Nice piece, really liked the video too. Not a fan of A3 printing but I’m sure my son will give the pattern a go. Thank you!
Thanks so much! Yeah unfortunately A3 is the only option sometimes; I put some notes on there for how to print on A4, worked well for me so far 👍
One word....Inspired 👍
That means a lot!
Definitely fresh look. Uses quite more leather tho, plus you'd have to fish stuff out of the big one. That would get old real fast.
This would be great for us girls too!
Thanks for this video. It was one of several I watched when trying to decide on a bag, and it helped. I have the bag and love it (pounced on a 25% off sale at B&H). Spacious but with a sleek(ish) profile. As for the "external carry system": The loops are good for attaching shock cords (you can buy additional ones on Amazon) and carabiners. I have a carabiner attached to a retractable keychain cord attached to a "Spudz" microfibre cloth pouch. Good for a quick wipe. On the side pocket access: it's actually a slight chore to get a camera like a Canon R7 out of it and so the theft risk while carrying strikes me as pretty low. That said I am able to rig up a shock cord to attach to the zip pull end as at least a deterrent; a thief would have to be pretty familiar with the bag to make any unnoticed progress. In terms of space: I fit a Canon R6 with an RF-24-105 F4 (lens hood on) in the attic/top compartment, and filled the rest of the main space with an RF 35 1.8, RF16 2.8, an R7 with the 18-150 in the side pocket area, a Canon G7Miii, and choice of RF 100-400 or RF 100 2.8, all with wiggle room. Plus a Macbook Air. I wouldn't carry all that other than flying for a trip, but it gives a good idea. Thanks again.
I’m getting the f/2.8 to mainly use in f/4 (basically when well lit) because that’ll be super sharp
Unfortunate that the side pocket only has one Zipper. If it had two, I would be able to easily zip tie them together or put a padlock on it to prevent unwanted opening from people
Looks like it would make for a great minimalist backpack for travellers even if they're not into camera gear
Are you willing to sell this? I need one for my trip but I am not a leather worker. Been looking at different designs and so far haven't found anything that appeals to me. Thank you!
I liked the first one, it was absolutely amazing!
