It`s not a matter of what the media WANT, it is down to the directive they receive from their owners/backers/controllers. These mouthpieces would lose their jobs immediately if they expressed anything other than the scripted bias. They have no personal input in anything, they are conditioned individuals, not true journalists. Possibly at home they may have some say, eg, who puts the cat out?
Someone like John Pilger is a TRUE journalist. What we have in the UK with BBC,Sky, C4 etc, USA with CNN and Australia with ABC, is outright deception.

Technically it has to be disclosed so it can be traced to make sure it has come from legitimate sources.
Why sky and all other media companies want to know is so they can mount smear campaign. The donar will be tracked down interviewed to try and make them slip up. Meanwhile all past social media use will be examined with an electron microscope to hope to find a blemish. Friends will be interviewed.
