      Especially when you end up on the registry because say, one is caught red-handed urinating in front of a child, or even doing a single bout of sexual-contact-romance on one who is of age of minority (aka underage) even without force or violence and even with consent. (Statutory rape is a strict liability sexual crime, where the perp who did the sexual contact is guilty of the crime, regardless of whether or not there was consent--that is no lie!) There also needs to be a need to widen the Romeo and Juliet laws in such a way that statutory rape charges will be much less in frequency, reducing the risk of those being caught to be charged with that crime, which in turn, will keep them from being threatened with being on the registry also.

    If people educated themselves on the registry, what it takes to get on it, and the restrictions that make rehabilitation impossible, then maybe they'd understand how big of a scam and how useless it is

    These are still humans!! Yes, they commit horrible crimes. Part of the issue is how people treat them when they learn where they live. They seek them out just to harass and harm them.
    I am not condoning their wicked behavior and I am not going to condone the wicked behavior of those around them. That's bull crap!!
    Everyone is a sinner!! These men have obviously paid for their crime. If people want sexual abuse to be equal to murder, where they can be executed, then change things. But for God's sake, stop being hypocritical! Either you let God judge, or you will be judged!!
    This is not the same for a situation where you find out someone has sexually violated your loved one. Let's see if God helps the fool who crosses the line for a good mother and/or father.

    How does a news network allow the most intellectually inept speak over the guest whom they invited to speak. These callers took the majority of the time with their insane calls as apposed to speaking to a person whom understands the situation. The irony is that one caller claims to be deeply concerned yet she had no idea there was a list. A simple Google search would prove to be to her benefit if she was sincerely concerned.

      People who would say that would probably call themselves a good person. When someone calls themselves good they are essentially denying that they’ve ever done something evil. When someone says “they will never change” about a group of people that fall under a certain category, that person is judging the soul of others, and that’s something only God can do. There are people alive today who do the most horrible things beyond comprehension, and they do it with a smile. Some of them can and will change, they will repent, and some will never change or repent. Paul called himself the worst of all sinners, the Pharisees thought themselves to be holy.

    What do people actually do with this information when they know a sex offender lives near them? Surely it just incites more fear and hate when in reality you should be careful of ANY adult ypu dont know... Even ones you know. Theres not a black and white approach. Non sex Offenders can become first time offenders so parents need to be careful of ALL and sex Offenders may have commited their first and last crime. In this horrible world just dont leave any vulnerable children alone with ANY adult other than a guardian. We dont need to know where all offenders live to be careful. All that does is make people feel they have the right to judge potentially reformed people as bad, and people as not offending as never having the potential to offend. Its way too black and white and promotes 'us and them' mentality and bad judgement. Life isnt as simple as that.

    • @charlessmith263
      @charlessmith263 Рік тому

      One way that teachers at K12 schools can avoid being sex offenders is to not only watch the way they touch children (mostly they should avoid contact when necessary), but also how they restrain children. For instance, say a teacher is with a 8-year-old student in a classroom alone, and closes the windows, pulls the shades down, and closes the door, leaving only the lights on. The teacher could be on the road to being a sex offender--because the risk of being unfairly charged with "unlawful restraint for sexual purposes on a child" looms. Don't do that especially in Texas--this is a "registrable offense" if you are accused of such a crime and arrested for it in that state. Even false accusations of child sexual abuse is enough to tarnish everything on you if you get fired, arrested, and forced to sex-offender-register. You will be banned from ever holding a teaching job ever again. So if you must be alone with one student in the classroom, don't "corner" that student. Be transparent--open doors, and even if you close windows, be sure it is in the way that people can see what you are doing with that child student. That way, if there are witnesses if you do touch a child in legal ways and still you end up with an abuse charge, you can fight back so you avoid being on that blacklist.

    I wonder about the system in the US , where rather than any chance of reformation and living as a good citizen after they have paid the price, they are isolated , stigmatized and discriminated against in any possible way available.I am certainly not defending or excusing any illegal or even immoral acts and I fully expect to receive abuse in the comments below maybe even called a SO or an SO lover
    . Surely if you keep people in the margins of society , in the lowest form they have nothing to lose or to gain in seeking redemption. If they cannot work or reside or even be in a relationship , are they not a greater risk to society. I do understand that many seem to prefer lynching or torturing and keeping them in a pariah status for life.
    That's not even mentioning the many who have been wrongly accused or irrelevant crimes that are more to with the morals of the lawmakers than actual protecting soceity.

      And that's the sort of thing that needs to change, not lighter sentences for rapists and peados. And for those kinds of people there should be a register because they always like about what they've done. They will always be predatory.
